Sorry to be completely random but I was talking to a friend recently who I went to college with at UK back in 1994. He asked me if I remember anyone from UK and I said yes, I remember a girl named Katie Thurman. He said, let’s look her up. Long story short, I think that girl is you. Again, super random but if you’re that Katie, just wanted to say hey. Hope all is well with you. And if you’re not that Katie, my bad, but hope you’re good too.

I feel beyond lucky to have had Katie James on our side when an "overly litigious" (I'm trying to be kind per the review guidelines) neighbor attempted to put a complete halt to an emergency sewage line repair unfortunately situated on easement between our properties. Her quick response and direct involvement with the scenario allowed our contractor team to complete the work in as timely a manner as possible for the benefit of our family. Her direct, yet kind and professional, demeanor got the issue settled while also saving what remained of our tenuous relationship with our neighbor. I can't recommend Katie strongly enough. Too bad there's not a choice for a "6 Star" rating on the scale above. Thanks again very much.

Katie James has been my attorney since 2012. She helped me resolve my mom's estate. Write a will for myself after my divorce and to purchase a 1/4 share Condo in the mountains. I have have found Katie to be knowledgable responsive and helpful in all situations. She is by far the most responsive attorney I've worked with.

Katie assisted me with preparation of a rent to purchase contract. It started with me asking questions about if she actually had done this before. Promised me that she had. Then i was told that i should have paid for the call where is was verifying she could do the work. When basic terms for the purchase contract were discussed it was very clear she did not have any experience and in fact the renters representative gave me better advice. I negotiated most tems with them and told Katie what to put in the contracts and how to structure them. She totally misrepresented her experience. things like its not legal to sign a purchase contract but delay the purchase date up to a year. she was wrong on this and several other things. i could have tolerated this but for an attorney with 7 years of experience to bill out at $300 per hour is completely out of line. Notice that before becoming a lawyer she was in the hotel business. Maybe some day after you learn your trade but someone younger than 40 with 7 years of experience, this is crazy. Combine lack of knowledge, because you only know what you know, with a billing rate of someone with 20 to 30 years of experience, give me a break. I got so i could not ask any questions because i was charged for every 5 minutes of discussion. In our initial conversation i was told a less expensive admin person would do most of the work which was not the case.

Kathryn helped us devise a will so quickly and easily. She did such a thorough job. Kathryn is so experienced and organized, so she made this process easy for us and in fact, enjoyable. We have children, so completing a will has been something that we have needed and wanted to do for a long time. We feel so happy and confident now that we have a will. Thank you, Kathryn!
