I am an experienced lawyer, but no longer handle residential landlord/tenant litigation. When I needed help for a rental property I own, I knew I was not up to date on recent changes to Colorado landlord/tenant laws. Sal personally returned my call promptly and quickly drafted the necessary documents for me. It was a pleasure working with him.

My experience with CFI Kimberly Utesch in Colorado was highly disappointing. From start to finish, it was evident that Ms. Utesch lacked the competence and dedication necessary for her role. Throughout the investigation process, she seemed to simply phone it in, displaying a lack of thoroughness and professionalism. She often had an auto-reply email set up which made getting a hold of her very difficult. She refused to review any videos or relevant evidence because would not allow me to send these items through Dropbox, as the files were too large for email. She conducted my "home visit" through Zoom. To make this even worse, when she called on Zoom to do the home visit she started to berate me and tell me that it was inappropriate that I had my child present for our interview. She seemingly forgot that this appointment was for the home visit that she had specifically asked me to have my child present. She then proceeded to turn her camera off and "watch us interact" for 30 minutes. One of the most concerning aspects of Ms. Utesch's performance was her failure to interview ANY of the family members who had submitted questionnaires...... on either side of the family. This negligence not only demonstrates a lack of diligence but also raises serious doubts about the validity and fairness of her findings. How can a comprehensive investigation be conducted without gathering input from all relevant parties? Furthermore, Ms. Utesch's overall competency was severely lacking. It was clear that she did not possess the necessary skills or knowledge to handle the complexities of the case. Her lack of attention to detail and apparent disinterest in the matter at hand only exacerbated the situation. To make things worse she then asked for more money at the end of her investigation. The ONLY thing my son's mother and I have ever agreed on is that Ms Utesch has no business being a CFI. Less than a year after her report was completed, our judge allowed us to have another investigation completed. This report had DRASTICALLY different findings. Her entire report was a waste of time and money. Overall, I would not recommend Ms. Utesch as a CFI based on my experience. Her subpar performance and lack of thoroughness do a disservice to the families relying on her expertise. I urge anyone seeking a competent and dedicated CFI to look elsewhere.

Probably the biggest moron that ever was allowed to practice law in Colorado. It was a terrible boost to morale to have the Judge look at Mr. Quintana like he said the dumbest thing he had ever heard. When Mr. Quintana kept repeating it as par t of his idiotic argument, the Judge had the most obvious look of disbelief I had ever seen. Stay away from this guy, or you'll be sorry.

I love this firm. I initially thought I would hate talking about my issue to strangers, but turns out they made it easy. No judgement, just a good work ethic. Do yourself a favor and try them out. Family is the most important thing, and worth the consideration of someone who can give you solid advice, and care about the outcome.

If you don't go with this law group then you are mission out! Not only did they handle my case with grace, but they even went the extra mile when I had an emergency! I have a medically fragile and disabled child that is very hard to take out of the home. The day before my court appearance, all of my child care canceled for the day of court. I needed to file a motion in order to appear virtually instead but being the day before, and with my lack of court understandings, I was lost. I called this office since they were the ones who filed my paperwork with the court to ask for assistance. Of course the lawyer I used was out of office so I left a message. Within 10 minutes I received a call back from another attorney from this office and after I explained my situation, they said that they would have no problem filling out the motion for me and emailing to me! Not only that but they did this from their cell phone! All I asked for was advice, but this office was so understanding and the fact that they went the extra mile to help me was such a relief and an act of kindness and humanity that you don't normally see from people nowadays. From now on I will always use this firm for all of my needs!

Bill is an excellent attorney who helped me through a high-conflict divorce with his strategic and calm approach. He is very patient and thinks before he reacts. He never leaves you guessing and openly shares information he receives from the other attorney's involved. One thing that I really liked about Bill is that throughout my entire case I always understood what the worst case scenario could be. He never once mislead me to believe we would win the case or any given dispute would be in my favor. I valued his transparency. He knows what he is doing when it comes to family law. I would certainly recommend him to any of my friends or family that are going through a difficult divorce.

Bill was a great help and resource after my divorce as my ex-wife wanted to fight me on everything for our son. He takes his time to make sure he has every resource available for him to review and makes sure he helps make the right choice in your case. This case was a long one and Bill kept me update on any communications that came from the other attorney. We always worked through what I was requesting and making sure every detail was covered before it was filed with the court. My ex-wife used two attorney's to help fight against what I was wanting for our son. Bill is very reasonable when he has open communication with other attorneys. In the end... Bill being very calm and patient helped grant what I was trying to get for my son I would recommend Bill any time and would use him again in the future if I ever need it. At least sit down with him so he understands what your direction is.

I want to take a moment to highlight the exceptional service I received from the team at CNL Law Firm. My now husband and I were searching for lawyers to assist us in drafting a prenuptial agreement. While he found representation easily, I struggled to find an attorney who would take my case seriously. Initially, I reached out to other firms, including Jones Law and Marble Law. Unfortunately, those experiences were discouraging. I felt judged for asking many questions and was required to pay for consultations, which only added to my frustration. Then I discovered CNL Law Firm. I had a free consultation with Jacob Castonguay, who patiently answered all my questions and provided invaluable guidance. Despite my last-minute request just two weeks before my symbolic ceremony, Jacob was always available—responding promptly to my calls and texts. His professionalism and efficiency were evident throughout the process. Because of his busy schedule, he referred me to another Charley Gibson who is the associate attorney, who understood the urgency of my situation. Charley was incredibly detail-oriented, kind, and responsive, ensuring that everything was addressed quickly. I truly felt like I was in good hands with him. Thanks to the outstanding support from both Jacob and Charley, I was able to sign the necessary documents and leave for my destination wedding with complete peace of mind. I can’t thank them enough for their help. If you’re considering a prenuptial agreement or any family law matters, I highly recommend starting with CNL Law Firm. Don’t waste your time elsewhere—these professionals truly care about their clients and deliver exceptional service.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Chris Little on a personal basis over the years. While I cannot comment directly on his ability as a litigator ( I do know his success rate is exceptional) , I can provide some insight into the person who would be representing you in one of the most stressful and emotional times of your life. It only takes a few minutes with Chris before you will quickly realize you are talking to an a person who is exceptionally bright, articulate and exceptionally well prepared to represent you in the most professional manner possible. I assure, Chris’ encyclopedic knowledge and years of experience will be blatantly obvious during your very first meeting. As a friend, I love his laser sharp and quick sense of humor. As a client, I would think that attribute crucial, especially if you end up in trial or just need to have a little laugh when you really need it. He is a family man who understands what your everyone involved is going through and will provide you the structure and support that is so important to maintaining your mental health and managing through this difficult process. I have never known Chris to be dishonest or untrustworthy and would willingly entrust my future to him if I was ever faced with such a situation. If you are in need of a family divorce attorney, please consider Chris Little and at the very least, please at least setup a consultation. You can thank me later!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Centennial, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
