The team at Joyner Law was an absolute pleasure to work with, specifically Tim Lindstrom. He handled my case with the utmost professionalism and had extreme attention to detail. His knowledge of the law is what ultimately led my case going to a motions hearing and getting dismissed. I would recommend absolutely anyone going through legal troubles to call Joyner Law immediately. They will work hard for you to assure justice is served in your favor.

Derek who I talked to for over an HR laid it on thick how this office makes DA’s sweat once these lawyers walk in the court room, he told me the reason he did the consultations is because the lawyers are so busy focusing and putting their clients first and we’ll feel like the office is always there for us making sure we understand what’s going on and that they take the stress away as much as possible! HA constantly had issues to messing appt times telling us about the things the officers did wrong (which never even was used as leverage in our case) not communicating what’s expected of us and they just literally didn’t care about our case at all, we both reached out about our feelings of being shoved off, I never got a response from Derek and my husband never heard anything from America nor did either of them relay our concerns to the attorneys! We ended up getting a deal from the DA WORSE than what the DA offered us before we hired Joyner!! I truly think we were just an easy 6500$ and they could give two craps about the case! Derek’s exact words to me was Joyner was the top DUI attorney in our area and my husband got screwed, seems the “top” DUI attorney could get someone a better deal who was never even seen behind The wheel nor in the car!!! Glad he’s helped some but clearly not everyone gets this fluff treatment!

Geoffrey and his team were absolutely amazing! He took the time to explain everything to us and answered every question we had even the stupid ones. He responded to us in a timely manner and all the answers we got were directly from him. All emails and return calls came from him which was just great! He was also up front with everything we weren't left in the dark and let us know if something was changing. He has honestly made this process 100x easier and we are so thankful for it!

Mr. Atzbach came highly recommended by a friend. He definitely gets the job done in a very timely manner. Even though he made this process as smooth as he possibly could. I had a hard time dealing with having to file for bankruptcy, on top of loosing my husband. Mr. Atzbach was very understanding, patience and very sincere when speaking. No one ever think this will happen to them and when it does you don't who to turn too. I can assure you working with Mr. Atzback will be the best decision you could make when having to file for bankruptcy.

David and I had a brief conversation on the phone regarding my situation with Bank of America and a fraud claim which they refused to investigate properly or reimburse after denying my claim. David was quick to inform me of my rights per the FTC and consumer laws and what actions he would be able take against BoA to include treble 3x damages which would amount to over 10k with paid Attorney fees. David also knows several other Attorney's who are experts dealing with these type of cases and can refer you to other Attorney's in the state of Colorado, that may be able to help with Bankruptcy, Business law, Real estate and consumer law or If you feel a class action lawsuit is justified. David is an expert on planning and knows how the courts rule depending on the client's situation and he has over 25 years of experience of practiced law. I highly recommend you give him a call so that he can help you with your particular situation. I feel David provided more information with his free consultation than any big lawfirm would have provided, he is easy to talk too and he cares about your rights.

We had a complicated real estate matter, had hired an expensive and HORRIBLE attorney in town. We spent a fortune with him and zero progress made. Finally got smart, fired him, and luckily found David. He was able to resolve the matter within a few weeks! Don't hire anyone until you talk to David first, seriously.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
