Ms. McClintock was on point every step of the way. She made sure to keep me updated and was not afraid to take my case to trial. She made the entire process a lot easier to manage than I ever thought it could be. With her knowledge of the laws and procedures, combined with her down to earth approach, Ms. McClintock is the only attorney I will ever call when I need legal assistance.

Ms. McClintock provided very competent service to me. From the start of my case I felt like she genuinely was concerned and took a real interest in helping me. I never felt like I was just a client or number, but an individual that she wanted to help. She continually kept me informed and when court was going to happen she did her best to prepare me for what exactly would happen and the possible outcomes of the case. When my court date arrived there were no real surprises. She was completely prepared for anything the Prosecution presented. In the end she fought for me all the way and the final result was “Acquittal”. I couldn’t of been more happy with the outcome and service. If you need a competent and reliable lawyer Ms. McClintock is one of the best and one I would use again if necessary for myself or family. Fees were very fair and reasonable. So I will definitely recommend her to anyone. I can’t thank her enough for the service she provided.

I was injured in the course of my work duties late last year. Ms. McClintock was so understanding and quick to negotiate a very favorable workers compensation settlement that left me with the ability to still provide for my family and relocate out of state. I would highly recommend her to anyone needing a compassionate and results-oriented attorney in the Colorado Springs area.

Geoffrey and his team were absolutely amazing! He took the time to explain everything to us and answered every question we had even the stupid ones. He responded to us in a timely manner and all the answers we got were directly from him. All emails and return calls came from him which was just great! He was also up front with everything we weren't left in the dark and let us know if something was changing. He has honestly made this process 100x easier and we are so thankful for it!

Mr. Atzbach came highly recommended by a friend. He definitely gets the job done in a very timely manner. Even though he made this process as smooth as he possibly could. I had a hard time dealing with having to file for bankruptcy, on top of loosing my husband. Mr. Atzbach was very understanding, patience and very sincere when speaking. No one ever think this will happen to them and when it does you don't who to turn too. I can assure you working with Mr. Atzback will be the best decision you could make when having to file for bankruptcy.

David and I had a brief conversation on the phone regarding my situation with Bank of America and a fraud claim which they refused to investigate properly or reimburse after denying my claim. David was quick to inform me of my rights per the FTC and consumer laws and what actions he would be able take against BoA to include treble 3x damages which would amount to over 10k with paid Attorney fees. David also knows several other Attorney's who are experts dealing with these type of cases and can refer you to other Attorney's in the state of Colorado, that may be able to help with Bankruptcy, Business law, Real estate and consumer law or If you feel a class action lawsuit is justified. David is an expert on planning and knows how the courts rule depending on the client's situation and he has over 25 years of experience of practiced law. I highly recommend you give him a call so that he can help you with your particular situation. I feel David provided more information with his free consultation than any big lawfirm would have provided, he is easy to talk too and he cares about your rights.

We had a complicated real estate matter, had hired an expensive and HORRIBLE attorney in town. We spent a fortune with him and zero progress made. Finally got smart, fired him, and luckily found David. He was able to resolve the matter within a few weeks! Don't hire anyone until you talk to David first, seriously.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
