Terry was not only extremely knowledgeable about real estate law, but took considerable care in ensuring I had the necessary protections in place. He was very good at explaining the inherent risks associated with the contract, and prioritized the most critical points to work through. Terry stayed in good communication throughout the entire process and met the deadlines we were up against. Both Terry and Rachel were very friendly and fun to work with (yes, fun...we all got to know one another along the way). Terry Doherty goes above and beyond any expectations someone may have for an attorney. Terry has worked on a few cases for me, cases that ended up being complex and difficult. Just went through a nasty divorce where equity in real estate was in question. The opposition (ex-wife and ex-mother-in-law) hired a reputable large firm to represent them. Terry Doherty from Doherty Law Firm was recommended to me by another firm. After an initial meeting with Terry, I hired Doherty Law Firm and couldn't have been happier with the results. The opposition claimed that I wasn't entitled to any equity in the home. To resolve the issue, we had to file suit. It was nice to have someone believe in you and your case and was willing to fight to get me what was fair. The effort Terry put into my case resulted in me getting my half of the equity and that the home being declared marital property. With the facts and package Terry put together, there wasn't a need to go in front of the judge. The case was settled out of court.
