I found Leslie Shafer to be an honest attorney with the heart of a teacher. She is smart, kind and capable.

I regret that I ever trusted Burnham law and specifically Kristin Weaver and Leslie Shafer with case. Not only they did not deliver as promised but they are way overpriced for the services they provided. Since Leslie is the principal I was hoping to receive atleast some sort of customer service from her instead she was covering up for her council that was practicing less than a year. I reached out to Leslie on multiple occasions hoping she would assist me as a paying client but instead she sent me threatening email after I questioned what was done and requested explanation.

During the one of the hardest situations you will likely find yourself in, Leslie will help guide you through the process in an honest way. She will care about you and fight for the best outcome she can get you. She will answer your questions timely. She will become a trusted teammate who will keep your best in mind.

The biggest regret I have is trusting Leslie Shafer and Burnham law with my case I have never been treated so unprofessionally in my life Leslie and Burnham law will make you many false promises in an effort to bill you excessively My advice is to find a firm that actually cares about the outcome of your case and fights for your rights

Leslie is a highly intelligent, knowledgeable and reasonable attorney who can be trusted to get the job done right. She has an in depth knowledge of family law and if she cannot answer your question she is surrounded by a group of superior attorneys with knowledge and background in diverse areas of law who can. The decision of who should represent you will alter your life, especially in family law. Whether yours is a highly controversial divorce or uncontested, a knowledgeable attorney with a great team is essential!

The thing that impressed me the most about Leslie Shafer was her ability to explain the law and clearly articulate the steps that needed to be taken. Attorney Shafer was truly a pleasure to work with, even during one of the most stressful, horrible, times of my life. Attorney Shafer, Alex and Ariel were the dream team I couldn’t have imagined. Leslie was excellent in analyzing the specifics of my divorce case and providing options to go forward. She was also very good in the actual case, conducted on Zoom, in cross-examining the opposing counsel's witnesses and pointing out flaws in their testimony.

Leslie represented me for 1.5 years during an extremely complicated domestic relations case (allocation of parental responsibility). I was consistently impressed with Leslie’s knowledge of the law and how she applied it to the art of her practice as an attorney. I jokingly (yet seriously) referred to her as “Ruth,” (short for “Ruthless”). She worked diligently, intelligently, swiftly, ethically, and innovatively. She demonstrated that she was able to consistently observe her own practice methods, and she wasn’t afraid to change the trajectory of the legal strategy in order to meet the end goal – even if that meant turning on a dime. The energy she puts into her work ethic seems endless. My case was litigious and extremely complicated. She could have easily provided a mediocre service, but her dedication to my case never wavered. I am a single mother and a survivor of many years of covert, malignant, narcissistic abuse, and domestic violence. The litigation was an exhausting and traumatizing experience. There were a multitude of systems, investigators, and professionals involved. Within these systems, there was incompetence as far as the eye could see. With each short-coming, or incompetency, of the various systems or professionals involved, Leslie found a challenge to meet and overcome. Her enduring work ethic saw this case through to final orders that protected my children’s present, and their future. I can say, without reservation, that the quality of representation that I received in my case is second to none. She heard me. She listened to me. She empowered me. She built a rapport with me that helped me to trust her expertise, while simultaneously keeping me in the driver’s seat of the decisions being made in my case. She helped me understand the system(s) we were working with (albeit the sometimes painful truths of the systems we were working with). She was amazing in the courtroom. She wasn’t intimidated by my abuser. She wasn’t intimidated by the system(s). Her support gave me the strength I needed to see this through. She treated me like a person. She cared deeply for my children and for me – it was evident, not a façade. The icing on the cake in my experience with Ruthie was that her work on my case was micro and macro level work. Not only did she provide domestic violence specific representation for me, but she worked with an expert in the field of domestic violence bringing expert testimony into the courtroom and educating the court. This is something that is desperately needed in the field of domestic violence and family law. For me, I see working with Ruth as a priceless investment for my life, and the lives of my children. I am happy that it’s over. The work is hard. It’s exhausting (and one of the most stressful experiences I have ever been through). I will never forget the deeply meaningful impact that she has had in my life. She is a smart cookie and a devoted advocate. She is worth every penny of the investment.

Leslie saved me and my daughters life. I had a very hard case in two separate states. Locally I tried more than one law firm in the area and the attorneys wouldn’t take my case. Leslie was confident and very honest. She took on the case right away and gave me and my daughter a light of hope which ended in us proving jurisdiction and winning our case. Leslie was firm, clear, persistent and helped me so much in understanding the court system. She is an amazing lawyer she coached me through the roughest time in my life fighting for me and my child’s welfare and our life here in Colorado. Leslie Klaassen represented me in a Temp PFA hearing case with a very professional manner while I was having to deal with a frivolous and vindictive individual. The individual I had to deal with was doing everything they could to drag me down to their level, attempting to attack my 2nd amendment rights and ruin my life. Didn't happen! Leslie told me things that most clients don't always want to hear from an attorney but in the end her advice turned out to be the best advice from a calm and very understanding attorney.
