Tammera was very helpful to us handling two estate plans. When my wife's father died it was necessary to develop a plan for her mother, then again when her mother became limited by dementia. Tammera was very helpful during these trying times and was available on a timely basis. She also did a great job on our estate plan which involved merging families.

Several years ago Tammara Bauer guided my wife and I thru the process of Conservator ship as well as Guardianship on behalf of Mother who had dementia . Eventually Mother & her Sister were moved to an assisted living community where they could receive better care . Unfortunately both Mother & her Sister have recently passed away and Tammara Bauer is now assisting in probate estates for both ladies .

Very simple probate case: Numerous mistakes in accounting. Omissions in contacts of creditors. Fee four times initial estimate. Lack of attention to detail in filings, follow-ups, and communication. Very condescending, especially when questions arose regarding omissions, mistakes on attorney’s part, or in clarifying situations and procedures. Poor communicator in general leading to frustration on client’s part especially concerning questions regarding fees. Client was spoken down to to the point of reprimand on numerous occasions. Client threatened with abandonment of case unless questions of clarification and questions regarding mistakes in accounting and omissions ceased. Client had no choice but to continue w/ this attorney as probate was, “in the last stages,” according to the attorney and the expense of hiring new council was prohibitive. Attorney strongly suggested and, “recommended” a property wholesaler who offered a purchase price $100K below the price the property sold for four months later creating a sense of suspicion and betrayal in the client. The client would not hire this attorney again for any reason, nor would the client ever consider giving a recommendation for the attorney.

Greg has excellent communication. He emailed me regularly and kept me updated on my defense. He fought for me with the DA and got my case dismissed. I’m very happy with my choice of representation

In 2017 I was framed and charged with a very serious crime. I had no hope at all, the Brighton, CO police department did everything they could to destroy the exculpatory evidence in my case. Luckily Gregory McMahon was there for me every step of the way, this man took time off from other cases to visit me in jail and keep my hopes up. He even took over my financial accounts at my request because I had no one else, and he never took a dime from me that wasn’t earned. I trusted this man with my life and liberty and he refused to let me down. I have never met anyone with such determination and integrity in my life who wasn’t a Marine. While Mr. McMahon wasn’t a Marine, he served his country with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an analyst and saved countless lives. When he learned of the corruption in Adams County and the Brighton Police department he made sure to expose them and show them for the cruel inhuman tyrants they were in public court. I was looking at life in prison for a crime I did not commit and he would not let the system fail another veteran. I thank you Mr. McMahon for your dedication to liberty, justice and myself. I am forever in your debt and forever your friend! Clinton, Semper Fidelis!

As a resident of another state, after I received a citation for DUI, I had no idea where to turn. On the recommendation of some local residents I hired Greg and his Investigator Joe. After almost a year of back and forth with hearings and a trial, we finally just had our day in court. As I found out early on the DA had lost to them before and was unwilling to offer any plea in my case just to spite him. It didn’t matter cause we got our Not Guilty verdict anyway. Greg was always available even as I was 1000 miles away. This was the hardest thing to go thru but Greg made it easier.

I consulted with Byron regarding a breech of contract with a medical provider. He replied to my initial questions almost immediately, reviewed the contract in his off work hours, and offered very clear and sound legal advice. Any documents I asked him to review, he did without delay and gave immediate feedback on the next steps. With his advice, we were able to come to a settlement agreement quickly and get the money that we were entitled to per our contract! We had a great experience and would HIGHLY recommend hiring Byron as your attorney!

Absolutely exceeds 5 star! Samantha and her team are amazing. The insurance company I had to deal with, drawn the situation out and gaslighted me, which exacerbated my pain and months to get my car fixed. But the team helped supported me throughout the process. I'm so happy this is over, and they were great assisting me throughout the process and communication!

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Commerce City, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
