I was pretty sure I am being unlawfully evicted in Fort Collins. It is a complicated matter and I was searching for any kind of representation or legal advice to verify my suspicions. I applied everywhere I could find a form for free or income based representation online and paid even paid for 3 services to get answers. I received email after email either telling me my case was either out of their scope of representation or out of their service area. I finally received an email saying I was approved and to call my local office the next day. I thought that I would be ok. Then they tell me that they only have one housing attorney in my area and that I was only approved for advice and it was up to her if she would represent me. She called and asked for basic information, I tried to ask specific questions and she wouldn't give me any definitive legal advice. She said she would do some research and get back to me. After 2 days of waiting anxiously for the phone to ring, I called my local office back to get her contact information. I was told she passed on my case because of the complications. I was pretty sure something was not right with my case but needed some answers to verify. I was scrambling through websites and I came across Colorado Affordable Legal Services website and decided to give them a call to leave a message. The call was answered by an actual attorney who patiently heard me explain my situation my questions were within minutes and without having to apply or pay a fee. I was given great advice and am know able to confidently answer my summons. I only wish I lived in the Denver area so that so that they could represent me. Best service I found so far in or out of state, and I have been scrambling for answers since being served on the 10th. I'm so grateful. Thank you very much!

This firm is Great I didn’t even know this was an women owned Black owned firm I’m so great full to come across then they helped me so much took so much stress off my chest customer service is great I’m so happy with my decision

If I could I'd give it 1 star. Never got back with me in a emergency situation and I've personally contacted them over 20 times

I was referred to this office for assistance due to my landlord's illegal conduct. I did not receive a return call, as a matter of professional courtesy. I only wanted 15 minutes of their time to explain my situation, and, would have gladly paid for the consultation provided it was reasonably priced. They missed an opportunity to make a difference. So much for "advocacy".

I spoke with Floyd and he was very patient and knowledgeable and was able to give me some great advice and helped me greatly.

I irresponsibly let an apartment complex take advantage of me and frantically called in need of help/assistance. Floyd let me know the hard truth and was straight to the point. He sent me all the information I needed to protect my hard earned money. I hope to get positive results but regardless, I'm thankful to have received professional advice without even being charged.
