I was told by a friend i could be arrested for being able to pay federal student loan that is in default . I explained my situation and he assured me due to my circumstances I cant be arrested for it. He even gave me some options and insight on how to handle a few other things. He is a great guy.

Mr. Berkus gave me irresponsible legal advice on this platform which I consider a consultation. My issue is in Florida and he practices in Colorado. Furthermore my issue is education related which isn’t an area of practice. He gave me erroneous advice that showed he is clearly ignorant regarding Florida law.

I had an employment related issue. This attorney was not helpful at all. He basically disregarded my entire concern and said “don’t worry about it.” This gave me the impression of not really seeing things from my side, something I think is a critical soft skill for any attorney. If he expressed moreempathy and saw things from my perspective, I would be able to recommend him. However, I was disappointed with my interaction with him and currently can not.

Provided a response to let me know that regardless of the bill being six years old that a Bill Collector could place it on your credit report even if the Statue of Limitations has expired.

We had a very serious education law question. Mr. Berkus counseled us not once, but twice, with candid and on-point information that specifically addressed our unique situation. Furthermore, the speed of his input astounded us, as well as his lengthy and thorough explanation of what for us was a very scary and complicated matter. We highly recommend Mr. Berkus. Consulted with the attorney in two messages. First message was not helpful in that Matt did not have all the info which was sent in a private message. Once having received said private message, Matt understood the situation and advised me as to options. Hopefully the track followed with the school will resolve the issue due to no fault of mie.

Attorney Matthew Scott Berkus took his valuable time to not only answer my questions with obvious experience and expertise but he also shared guidance throughout his many responses. I emphasize "many" responses because I did ask him many (although some were repetitive) questions during our correspondence. He is knowledgeable and tells you truths. I would recommend him for sure.
