I was reffered to Robinson & Henry P.C. due to the size of estate at contention. I really appreciate the time and professionalism afforded. I have been trying address a probate issue that has been an of issue with my family for too long. Both the intake and consultation were a relief. I felt I was treated w respect and talked to w equity not talked down to as I start to navigate what can be an overwhelming experience overall. Would recommend them as a great resource and firm to others.

I'm shocked at how bad our experience with Harvey Skees was. My Grandfather (last name Randall, so when you go looking for me as the client it'll be under him) needed a lawyer to help get a temp protection order turned permanent. I was fooled by the 4.6 stars here on Google and given how urgent the situation was, I went against my gut and hired Skees even though he was condescending and unprofessional in our initial consultation. (First thing he said to me was "you don't need a lawyer" and yup, I don't need you, that's for sure!) Also in the initial consultation we told him what the next court date was, and he said that he wasn't available so we'd need to request a continuance.
Given that Grandpa is 89 and I'm his power of attorney, I said I would sign for him and provided my POA docs in the same email I told them we wanted to retain. Then I was ghosted for 4 days. When I took my Grandpa to court to get a continuance, the judge only gave us an 8 day extension. I immediately called and emailed to check if Mr. Skees was available for the new date because it wasn't the date that we'd checked during the consultation. I also wanted to know why I still hadn't received the contract to sign. I found out the contract wasn't sent out because Skees hadn't even looked at my POA docs yet. I said if that was the hold up, I'd help my Grandpa sign it himself. I finally get the contract and have my Grandpa sign it (while he was literally hooked up to cancer treatment.... thanks you a*holes) and we pay at the same time. I had been told that as soon as we paid it would automatically be sent over to the legal team to start work on. BS. We paid on Tuesday and I was once again ghosted -- no one returned my calls or emails, zero acknowledgement -- until FRIDAY. Monday was a federal holiday (courts were closed) and Tuesday morning was the hearing. So I keep calling and eventually I get this gem of an email from Skees:
"Long story short, the hearing on the 18th is a conflict for my calendar (triple conflict actually) so we have contacted the Court to determine if we could obtain a continuance but have yet to hear back from them to date.
Without the continuance, we would not be able to operate as counsel in this matter due to the conflict."
OH REALLY, DID YOU CONTACT THE COURT TO ASK FOR THE CONTINUANCE THAT YOU KNEW I'D ALREADY USED BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T AVAILABLE ON THE ORIGINAL DATE? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS OR TELL ME YOU WERE DOING THAT SO I COULD TELL YOU WE'D USED UP OUR CONTINUANCE THAT YOU'D *ALREADY TOLD US TO USE*? WHY DID ABSOLUTELY NO ONE TELL ME FOR FOUR DAYS -- FOUR DAYS!!! YOU HAD A TRIPLE CONFLICT? WHO WAS THE OTHER PARTY YOU SCREWED OVER WITH YOUR TRIPLE BOOKING? WAS IT ANOTHER ***VULNERABLE*** PERSON TRYING TO GET A ***PROTECTION*** ORDER?
He did not even *offer* to try to transfer us to a different attorney. I had to ask. We finally get an attorney FRIDAY AFTERNOON. Hours before the court date. So soon before the court date that the motion she filed that afternoon -- because she actually TRIED to help us, and was professional, and communicated, thank you Anna -- didn't even have time to make it into the judge's inbox by the time of the hearing.
So we lost on a technicality. When my Grandpa filed the initial complaint, we'd checked the "emotional abuse of the elderly" box but the events described in detail didn't illuminate that. Which would have been fixable had Skees done LITERALLY ANYTHING on our case, including hand it off to someone who gives a sh*t. But the judge said that even though the court had "deep concerns" about the emotional and financial abuse we detailed, since those weren't detailed in the initial complaint he couldn't look at them.
I will update you with how much it cost us to get utterly and completely screwed by this firm.
