I have asked for legal guidance (through LegalShield) 5 times. Each time they have not been helpful, refused to help, say that it's not a supported case, or, in one instance, "accidently" close my case while waiting for my Will to be written up. Why pay a huge monthly subscription for a service that is useless. I have never had these difficulties before with other law services in the past

I have been a LegalShield member for some time, and while the legal services they offer are generally beneficial, my recent experience has left me with concerns about their accommodation of reasonable requests and their attitude towards individuals with disabilities. I reached out to LegalShield requesting a reasonable accommodation due to my speech disability. Despite informing them of my preferred communication method via email, I encountered challenges in getting attorneys to respect this accommodation. The situation escalated when I was informed that I was no longer welcome to use LegalShield services due to a nonpayment issue. I faced unforeseen financial difficulties and I was told that a representative would contact me through email on July 1st to collect my payment method, but this never happened. The lack of communication, especially considering my approved reasonable accommodation request, raises questions about the consistency of LegalShield's commitment to accommodating individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the difficulty in having my caregiver communicate on my behalf further added to the challenges. It leaves me wondering whether LegalShield truly accepts individuals with disabilities without discrimination. In my experience, the disability friendliness at Riggs Abney Law Firm, associated with LegalShield, has been less than satisfactory. This situation has made me question the extent to which LegalShield is committed to providing inclusive and accessible services for all. I hope that sharing this feedback prompts a reevaluation of policies and practices, fostering a more disability-friendly environment at LegalShield.

I had the pleasure of working with Steven Louis-Prescott when the residents in our subdivision were mailed letters from an Oil & Gas Company to lease our mineral rights. Since our section of the oil & gas leasing unit did not include our entire subdivision and we shared the unit with a new residential development, we needed legal representation to navigate through this delicate process. There are many attorneys who work on behalf of the oil & gas companies and few who represent the landowners. We were fortunate to connect with Steven. What we were most impressed with was his great knowledge of the industry and how much we learned from just one meeting. He was willing to work with our entire group at a fair fee and communicated often with us during the negotiations. Steven created an addendum to the Oil & Gas Company’s standard lease that included the specific protections that our group valued. In addition to the addendum, he was able to significantly increase the financial terms of the initial lease offer. The landowners that were part of our group were happy with the results and how this process was accomplished in a timely manner by Steven and his paralegal, Jody. Legal Shield and Riggs Abney has offered me peace of mind over the past several years. They are easily accessible and respond promptly for consultation. It does take a bit longer to get letters drafted, approved and finalized, but overall I have been very pleased with them.

They protection you NEED!!

Legal Shield with this law firm is a complete joke. I had questions about estate planning, debt collection, how to protect my assets, what a lien does. They told me this was not a covered service because I have a personal injury attorney for an accident that occurred 8 years ago. "It would not be ethical" for them to talk to me about money issues until I withdraw the counsel of my personal injury attorney. Makes no sense!
