Mark Adams is a fantastic attorney. He represented me during my divorce. I was well supported and satisfied with the outcome. Mark is a very reasonable person and knows the court system well. He is honest and acts with integrity. I trust him. I hope to never have to use him again, but if I did have a legal situation, I would contact Mark in a heartbeat. He also has the most amazing paralegal working with him; she is second to none.

You could make a movie out of the adventure and heartache Mark and I went through! The best thing about Mark is that he tells you the ugly 'truth' even if it scares some of the weaker folk off. After talking with many attorneys for my child custody case, he was the one that stuck out for me because he was telling me the truth I didn't like, but needed to hear. And Mark was up front with me how my case was sitting when I first hired him. I thought it was good, but in reality it wasn't really all that good, and he said the way I was handling it was making it worse. So with some deep introspection of myself, I heeded Mark's advice, upped my game as a parent, and my attitude with the law. This really paid off when my son's mother took her insanity to the next level. I'm not going to go into great detail, but the mother was a pathological liar trying to spread the most horrible lies as a plot to alienate my son against me (feel free to use your imagination...it was the worst). This was through endless threatening motions, false police reports, conning other men to replace me as the father, daycares, fake CPS reports, etc., etc. She said the sickest stuff that came to her psycho brain about me without any filter or consideration. A true psychopath we were up against. However, Mark won EVERY court battle against her. She even went through 5+ attorneys in order to sell her lies and Mark whipped them all and exposed her bull#$% for what it really was. And when the mom realized she was losing her custody with her antics (she went from full custody, to joint custody, to NO custody), as a desperate finale move; she abducted my boy internationally across the world coercing me into giving up my parental rights! Otherwise, she wouldn't return him! With some tactful 'negotiating' with attorneys, the courthouse, and even the DA (unheard of for a civil attorney!!!) Mark was able to play 'let's make a deal' with the mom to convince her and drop certain things to convince her in bringing my son back (the country she took him to wasn't even under the Hague convention!). Mark was able to deal with the mom in subtle legal ways only HE knew about where he was then able to restore all my parental rights she coerced me out of right after she returned him!!! For all intensive purposes, that abusive psychopath of a pitiful excuse of a mother is out of our lives finally and will go to jail! In my final statements, Mark is not after your pocketbook, he is not there to sell you false hope (or false pessimism either), and most importantly, Mark is a wicked attorney who is also a MORAL human being. I am a poor SOB, and Mark did a lot of work for free (he only does this for me btw ;P ) because it was the RIGHT THING. Mark knows how to expose the morality out of the law and gives our legal system honor. That's what the law is about. The law is not about playing games, but to deliver ethics. Mark is the best legal representation money can buy. Thank you very much Mark, - From One Loving Father to Another

Mark missed specifics of my case and didn't prepare for meetings. I came in to meet with him early ahead of a meeting where we were hoping to settle the case. He was on the phone with a potential client and blowing smoke up their backside. Consequently he never heard what I wanted and was willing to agree to and we did not get to settlement.

Mark was about the 4th or 5th lawyer I called about a year ago because I was having trouble finding a lawyer to trust. Each one gave me the feeling like they were trying to 'sell me a car' or 'fear-goating' me into hiring them. Mark didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling (he actually kinda made me feel like a dumb child, haha), but he DID just told me what the certain realities of the situation is point blank from the mechanisms of the law with no sugar coating. - That was the type of lawyer I was going for. Anyway, I just got out of court today where my ex was coming up with all these egregious lies to try and put a restraining order on me to hamper my parenting time with my son. Mark was really tough on me of how I should be handling my ex in the eyes of the law when she threatens me with lies like this (i.e. not to engage with her), and showed me where I f*cked on the way (this is the part where I felt like a child being taught a lesson by a parent), and it's a lesson hardly earned! I now have the confidence to not respond to my ex when she tries to intimidate me, and I get to see my son tomorrow thanks to him!!!!

Mark Adams does not have a fancy website. He does not have a giant yellow pages add. I have used his services for over 5 years now and I can tell you there is no better family attorney in northern Colorado. When Mark argues my points in court, Im always left feeling that I could not have said it better myself. If Mr. Adams told me the sky is falling I would be sure to duck, because he has been nothing but honest with me throughout all of my experience with him. Wile I watched my ex pay a fortune in legal fees only to lose on every occasion, I was paying almost half of what it cost her with twice the counsel. My biggest advise to attorney seekers, Hire Mark Adams, quickly before your ex reads this and does.

We hired Mr. Glenn to help us with a very sticky lawsuit and he was not only very professional, but very caring to our needs. We ended up winning our case and afterwards the judge told us we had excellent representation, and he'd never seen an attorney do a better job in court. We would definitely hire Mr. Glenn again and recommend his services to everyone we know.

First we are owners of the Convent of the Holy Nativity In Fond Du Lac Wisconsin. To Note we won the Appeal, Kimberly Penix a Very Nice woman helped us win our Appeal. We unfortunatley we not treat right, or fair, But held onto faith in God and trying to do the right Thing. Kimberly and her Council with Our Attorney Dan Kaminsky helped us sooo much. Her knowledge of the law was impressive and she impressed the The Judges and through logic we succeeded but with her help being blessed by God. And Saved a Historic Property The Convent.., At least we were able to breathe with the help she gave and didn't have to worry over the premature razing of the property. What could be worst then having to face that awful fact. I feel like she was a real blessing to us. we were tired, exhausted and belittled by unjust prosecution and assumptions bad basically. We should have been working together, our side was but communication was awry... and against us.. leaving us dejected and feeling discriminated against in so many ways.... unreal. We were in essence being bullied. Long Story short She helped us, and you know i believe God will give her the power to help you and whom ever comes in here path... she's that good, She explained and walked us paitently through the process. Which she made it possible for us to help the future to preserve the property As God would have it... and or Enhance the Status. She's Decently Affordable, and will let you know the pitfalls if she see's any and works possibly more then you would expect she has hoodspa tenancity she's good. Now also The News papers in Fond Du Lac and the people that understood the value of the historic prooperty The Fond Du Lac Reporter also wrote stories about her case with us and its a miracle worked through with her. Kimberly Penix is a knowledgeable, dedicated, hard working, take action type attorney that you want fighting for your rights. She did that for me were other attorneys knowingly dropped the ball. Her professional approach was extremely welcome and helpful. She has an incredible sense of humor as well! The bottom line is, if you want a top notch attorney, your journey has ended. She has a vast knowledge of the law and is able to reflect that in paperwork preparation for the courts. Her confidence, communication, commitment, and competence excited me the first time I spoke to her on the phone about my case. Her response time to all my email inquiry's was phenomenal. Her exceptional willingness to help me in every way that I have needed over the last two years (were multiple other attorneys could not be bothered to do their jobs). I appreciate all the effort and hard work she put forth in my case. An absolutely amazing attorney, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Collins, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
