Leah Wolf & Stephanie McMullen are awesome to work with and very responsive. I never felt alone throughout the process and they truly care about their clients. They genuinely want the best outcome for everyone involved which meant the world to me. I will have no hesitation recommending Wolf & Associates to anyone I know.

Leah Wolf and her team are some of the most amazing people I know. They are kind and empathetic to your situation while also tough and ruthless in the court setting. If you are a woman who feels as though they are in despair with the entire divorce process, Leah will help to pull you out of the trenches and help you win your case. I cannot say enough good things about this firm

I cannot express how thankful I was for Wolf and Associates during my divorce. Leah and team were there for me from day 1 like family. Divorce is so hard and they took care of me from the beginning, found me support where I needed it, and felt personally invested in what was best for me and my kids until it was over. When you hire this team, you become part of their “Wolfpack”

Pros
1
Excellent legal expertise and strategy
“Justin Oliver and Joseph Williams were INTERESTED in my case, and that made the difference. When it came time to prep for trial and for me to hear their strategy (based off of the posturing of my EX); we scheduled a meeting and they presented me with three (3) options on how we could proceed.”
2
Attentive and responsive to client needs
“From the point Justin entered on my case I felt less stress. Throughout all the proceedings and paperwork Justin was very informative and caring. He always asked my opinion and took my wants and needs into account throughout everything.”
3
Achieves positive outcomes for clients
“My Day In Court was a day like none other in my 10 year quest for Justice! I left the courthouse relaxed and refreshed.”
4
Compassionate and understanding
“I was very satisfied with the outcome and now I am the parent receiving Child Support---after 10 years of me paying it---from my ex-husband! I am now better able to provide for my son and would definitely recommend Justin Oliver as your attorney!”
Cons
1
Billing can be expensive
“Cost can add up quickly (as even phone calls are billed) however it is worth every penny to have this young professional working on your behalf!”
2
Lack of specific experience with military divorce cases
“Justin please update yourself on military aspects of divorce, a lot of soldiers are coming home, to be honest I wish you had an open schedule and I had the money, I would retain you in a heartbeat, you are good people Justin”

I was very worried and stressed when I found myself in trouble. So I had to seek help in my case immediately. I hired Kirk Waible as soon as I heard from a friend he was a great lawyer and would fight until i was in a comfortable state with moving forward in my case. Very punctual and professional. I found he dug much further to find any evidence needed to better myself and the case of any false accusations that were held against me. I Have hired him, not only once but twice and both times I was more then happy with each outcome. If you are charged with DV, criminal mischief, assault or any related forms of charges this is the perfect man to go to. Highly recommended.

As a first-time offender I had no clue what to expect or how to proceed, but luckily, I found Kirk! Kirk's experience, professionalism, and calming presence helped me get through this rough time. His confidence is what gained my trust, so I was able to put my legal situation to the side to let him take the reins. He was great at communicating with me to give updates, responded a timely manner, and explained everything thoroughly. Kirk made me feel like I was his only client! All thanks to him, my case was dismissed. Let's hope I don't ever go through anything like that again, but if I did I would want Kirk to be by my side all the way.

Doug Allen is the best car accident lawyer I have ever been involved with. He returned my phone calls within 1 hour and explained everything to me, every step of the way. He even came to my house to visit me and see how I was doing. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a car accident lawyer.

Doug is dedicated and knowledgeable. Doug took my case after another attorney dropped my case because they no longer wanted to deal with a complicated case. Not only did Doug take the case, he was very successful with the case and I was able to get all my medical bills taken care and able to move on from my accident. Doug gave me excellent advice and worked closely on my behalf with all of my doctors as well as the insurance company. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

On behalf of Spiro Palmer; I was in a car accident in 2023, and my car was totaled and I was severely injured. I called the VanMevern Law Firm, and my attorney Catharine Fullerton and her assistant Amy Selcke were professional, personal, and reassuring throughout the process. They were truly understanding and supportive of my circumstances, and ensured I received the compensation I deserved. They did an outstanding job representing me, and kept me up to date with weekly communications.  In the end, I was very pleased with my results. I would highly recommend them. - Spiro Palmer

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Collins, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
