I have worked with Jeremy since filing for divorce in 2015. Jeremy listened to my concerns and then gave me practical advice on how to proceed based on his experience with Larimer County, divorce and child support laws, and what is best for children and the coparents involved in these cases. If you are willing to listen to someone who has seen a lot, put aside your pride, and do whats going to be best for your family then you want an advisor like Jeremy. He didn't tell me what I wanted to hear he told me what I needed to hear about the reality of the various situations I faced. Thanks to Jeremy I have made it to the emancipation of my youngest child without losing my mind, dignity, or children.

We started our journey with another attorney with little effort. We made a bold decision to change firms. Jeremy was able to get an agreement in place which helped us not going to court. Not only did this save time and money, but it also took off all the stress from our situation. I highly recommend Shufflebarger Law Office. We know where to turn in the future.

I was very worried and stressed when I found myself in trouble. So I had to seek help in my case immediately. I hired Kirk Waible as soon as I heard from a friend he was a great lawyer and would fight until i was in a comfortable state with moving forward in my case. Very punctual and professional. I found he dug much further to find any evidence needed to better myself and the case of any false accusations that were held against me. I Have hired him, not only once but twice and both times I was more then happy with each outcome. If you are charged with DV, criminal mischief, assault or any related forms of charges this is the perfect man to go to. Highly recommended.

If you want an amazing attorney Kirk Waible is the best by far. He goes above and beyond and will do whatever it takes to make sure you are well taken care of. He explains the legal side of what you may be dealing with and his advise is by far extraordinary. You will not be sorry to have him represent you in any case.

As a first-time offender I had no clue what to expect or how to proceed, but luckily, I found Kirk! Kirk's experience, professionalism, and calming presence helped me get through this rough time. His confidence is what gained my trust, so I was able to put my legal situation to the side to let him take the reins. He was great at communicating with me to give updates, responded a timely manner, and explained everything thoroughly. Kirk made me feel like I was his only client! All thanks to him, my case was dismissed. Let's hope I don't ever go through anything like that again, but if I did I would want Kirk to be by my side all the way.

After working with Jeff on a personal dispute we solicited his guidance on three very important business consulting contracts. He reviewed the contracts presented and made suggestions and edits to better protect our small LLC with these three contracts. With his guidance we have been able to make a concerted effort to protect our business. We would recommend Jeff for his ability to quickly understand complex issues and address all of our concerns in a timely and professional matter.

You know that feeling when life has you down, just another example of Murphy's Law? Well, I was there. Stuck in a mess with my insurance company, after I was on my motorcycle and struck by an uninsured driver. Confined in the hospital, lost in paperwork, and overwhelmed by the whole situation. I felt like I was falling into the void, quickly being forgotten. But then, I had a family member call Law Tigers and was connected to Patrick DiBenedetto, Attorney at Metier Law Firm, and his amazing legal team. These are down to earth people, who ride their own motorcycles, and spoke my language. He listened to my story, the whole thing, like it was the most important tale he ever heard. He didn't talk down to me, no fancy words or legal mumbo jumbo. He straight-up explained what was going on, what my rights were, and what he could do to help. And let me tell you, this guy could fight! He was like a bulldog with a bone!  The letters, the phone calls, the arbitrations, the endless negotiations - everything he did on my behalf gave me the deepest sense of relief because I knew I had a compassionate and extremely competent professional doing the hard work for me!  I had the easy job - I just had to heal 14 broken bones and 5 surgeries! Because of Patrick DiBenedetto, his team, the Metier Law Firm, and Law Tigers, I received the full compensation I was legally entitled to. I received a settlement, but most importantly I received peace of mind so I could focus on healing without being distracted by medical bills and insurance - I knew Patrick and his team had it handled and that makes Patrick worth his weight in gold. Patrick is permanently on my Christrmas Card list and I will be calling him for ANY legal needs in the future.  Patrick DiBenedetto is a motorcycle rider himself and his natural empathy with his clients clearly impacts the quality of his relationship with his clients, and significantly intensifies the ferocity in which he fights for their compensation.   It is my true hope that no one reading this will ever be in need of a motorcycle attorney; however, if they are, Patrick DiBenedetto has earned my complete trust, deepest respect and I earnestly suggest calling his office.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Collins, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
