Brent was amazing. Throughly explained what we needed and why. Had all documents ready in less than a week. Great staff and overall great experience. Highly recommend.

The service I received from Keele & Parke was nothing less than exceptional. After my father was put on hospice due to cancer, my parents asked me to help them get a will together. I reached out to several law firms, but Taylor from Keele & Parke contacted me almost immediately and spoke with me with incredible compassion and understanding and was able to set up a consultation. We worked with Brent and he was able to get everything together in a matter of days and came out to our house with witnesses to sign the will since my father was on bed rest. In the weeks after, Brent answered all of my questions with clarity and gave me very helpful advice on how to get all of my fathers affairs in order. I truly don’t know how I could have gotten through this without Brent and his team and cannot thank them enough.

We recently moved states and sought out Keele & Parke to re-do our Trust documents for compliance with Colorado state laws. We connected with Jim Parke after meeting several other attorneys/offices via remote intro chats. We were very impressed with his knowledge base, pragmatic approach, and willingness to answer all our zillion questions. Jim and his team efficiently and expediently completed all the documents.. We might add his office team is run like a friendly professional tight ship. So responsive, warm, coordinated and thorough! Thank you, Jim and Team! We will be highly recommending Keele & Parke to our contacts.

My husband and I can't say enough good things about our experience establishing a trust. Brent, you are so professional while making us very comfortable with all the decisions we had to make. We feel like we made a friend in the process. Thank you. Also, thank you, Taylor. You're amazing, we're glad to have met you, and love you for introducing us to the wonderful Lindor 60% chocolate truffles!!

Great experience!! After receiving a recommendation for Keele and Parke and attending one of their introductory seminars, my wife and I worked with Jim Parke on our estate plan, including trusts for us, children, and grandchildren. Jim and his staff treated us with dignity and respect, listened carefully, explained things in language we could understand, answered all our questions, accommodated our schedule, and even made last-minute changes to the plan. We couldn't be more pleased with how we were treated, and with the professionalism showed by Jim and the entire staff!!

Rob was excellent. My case was difficult and extensive and I feel he worked very hard to get me the best outcome. I was nervous through my whole case and every time I talked to him he put me at ease. He took the time to explain anything I didn't understand, which was a lot. He never made me feel like I was alone in this. He never push me in any decision. He explained my options, which changed often through my drawn out case, told me the pros and cons of each and let me decide how I wanted to proceed. He was the only lawyer I talked to and not once did I think about going to someone else. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that could use his services!

Recently, I had a need to hire a Federal Defense Attorney and Rob was recommended to me from another Attorney. From the first meeting on, Rob has provided a superior level of service to me. He has kept me informed, educated and has treated me with respect and dignity. Rob has an ability to speak with you in a language you understand and can digest. I could not recommend him more highly.

John Glenn has been a huge help to our family in a very tough legal situation. He has went above and beyond and was/is extremely professional, knowledgeable and kind hearted. There is no other attorney in the Ft. Collins area I would trust more. *Highly recommended.

We hired Mr. Glenn to help us with a very sticky lawsuit and he was not only very professional, but very caring to our needs. We ended up winning our case and afterwards the judge told us we had excellent representation, and he'd never seen an attorney do a better job in court. We would definitely hire Mr. Glenn again and recommend his services to everyone we know.

I hired Brooke after having two other attorneys. Brooke is extremely knowledgeable about family law and absolutely tenacious in pursuit of the best interest of the children and me. She is incredibly insightful as to the reality of what is going on in my case. She reads between the lines and is right on the money. She is quick, smart and incredibly talented. Brooke is one part of a team. The office of Alexander and Ewert is an amazing duo. These two offset each other perfectly. Might possibly be the best team in town. Hire Brooke and get her what she needs then sit back and let her do what she does, because she is amazing at it. She will hold the OP feet to the fire, diligently reads everything and follows up with the OP. A+ attorney PS I would not want my ex to have Brooke as her lawyer.

I was with Brooke for a child custody case that lasted for far to long and in the end she sat down with me, my sons father and his lawyer and we got it all hashed out. It was amazing to me that she took the time to set it up and work it out with me. She also is accepting payments instead of asking for every thing now. I honestly cant give this woman enough praise.

I met with Brooke because she came highly recommended by a friend. I was very impressed. She clearly explained the process and where the concerns were in my case. After I hired her, we went to temporary orders because I needed maintenance ASAP. She was fully prepared. My testimony was clear and well thought out to address all of my needs. My ex's lawyer was not nearly as prepared, and when Brooke got to ask my ex question, she did such a good job of showing his lies to the court. I got more parenting time and temporary maintenance than I thought I would.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Collins, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
