My life officially turned into a nightmare of fear and the unknown after my arrest. Kip was there the whole time and didn’t not “nickle and dime” me. After being falsely accused of a DWI while nowhere near my vehicle... incarcerated for a misunderstanding... left to find my way back, 35 miles into the mountains with no shirt, no money, and no ID by the local sheriff's and rangers at Rifle Gap State Park (stay away!)... I needed help. After spare changing enough to take the bus, and walking the remaining 12 miles back to my vehicle. I made my way back to Ohio, did an extensive amount of research, and decided on Mr. O'Connor. He never made any promises, asked me what I expected to get out of this, and got me the results I deserved! I was pulled over by an aggressive DUI officer after having a few drinks and presumably staying under the legal limit as designated driver. I passed the road test (proven by the body cam video) and refused his roadside breathalyzer (often not calibrated). He still arrested me and I forced him to take me to the hospital for a blood draw knowing this is the most accurate. Since I knew I had alcohol in my system and had a prior DWAI 18 years ago (different than DUI), and that a second offense would treat me like a complete alcoholic, jail me, take my drivers license away, and destroy my ability to gain employment (even if I was just barely over the Colorado DWAI limit of 0.05 BAC), I got a recommendation from a past Glenwood Springs private attorney, public defender and friend to hire Kip. Kip was forthright, attentive, and was always available for the multitude of questions that I had (and you will too). I was not local (6 hour drive for me), so he was present for my court date to have all the charges dropped after my BAC lab results came in under the 0.05 limit (the false driving violation of speed and lane management was also dropped.) He also helped me with sealing the arrest record. In the end, the police officer should be charged with wasting public resources, and lying on record (not to mention, exacerbating the already horrible reputation of law enforcement officers), but I thank Kip for lessening the blow for this lesson on how the innocent are sometimes at the mercy of our unperfected legal system. Once again, THANK YOU KIP!!!

Again, as this seems redundant with past reviews. Pulled over in the Glenwood Springs area and things quickly escalated from a driving infraction. Along with a potential reckless driving charge, officers thought drugs and alcohol were determining factors with my arrest. I was looking at DUI, reckless driving. I was frightened because regardless of the motor vehicle circumstances my life was going to change. His professionalism including his compassion (caring) kept me relaxed during this process. I was found with NO alcohol and NO drugs in my system, but without KIP, I would’ve potentially been at the mercy of the state. He got everything “Thrown out and reduced.” Gratitude is not enough.
