If you are looking for smug lawyers who lose your case, overcharge you for hours, don't prepare for their case, and will not file an appeal this is the law firm for you.
I hired them for a divorce proceeding. I went to them with my wife's lawyer's paperwork, my lawyer reviewed it he was telling me how he couldn't believe "an actual lawyer would file such sloppy paperwork". I had a feeling right then that I may have been doomed or maybe he was confident because he was that good.
I lived out of town so I only met him at intake and at the trial. He told me on the phone that even though my wife had thrown me out out it didnt mean that I can't visit my kids. I had a right to see them if they invite me in. This would later bit me in the butt.
Since I had moved out of GJ I didn't have much occasion to visit my kids, and because my soon to be exwife would limit telephone calls to my 4 children to 1/2 hour once a week, I figured I would try to see my kids before my son's birthday party. I only stopped in once which my lawyer said would be fine. My wife left to take my daughter's somewhere and I wanted to give my son his birthday present before his party. So I stopped in gave my son his gift and left. I didn't want to linger because my ex was becoming more irrational.
Back to my lawyer, I spoke to him 4 or 5 times over the phone, first call an hour, once before trial for an hour and 2 or three other times to get witnesses and clarification on a couple things. He spoke to my witness about 30 mins each they told me. Somehow I was billed for 6500$ including a 2 hour court appearance. CROOKS.
At the trial, which was for a protection order; my lawyer showed up with a BLANK note pad. He had taken no notes prior to the trial, no pre written questions. I thought it looked real bad, but he was confident the time I met him so maybe he had the case memorized did not need to write anything down, after all this lawyer graduated from the Airforce Academy.
I asked my lawyer why he didn't include a piece of evidence i gave him, which was a detailed list of things I would have to do to keep my marriage; nothing on the list mentioned my being abusive to her or my children, which the restraining order now alleged. He said he didn't want to use it because it talks about my threatening the family pets. I felt like I was going to lose.
The trial went well, because my ex in her testimony never once mentioned my threatening her or the kids, it did have a couple of made up stories of abuse. She said my son witnessed the abuse. My son 16 at the time was at the courthouse ready to testify that the incident never happened.
This is where I gave to mention the WORLD'S WORST JUDGE.... McNulty. If you are in Grand Junction and you are a man who has him you are boned. He didn't let my son testify. He ignored my ex's two best friends who testified on my behalf, one of which was my pastor's wife who was mentoring my wife.; and therefore knew everything about me, yet somehow never mentioned in that 8 years, that I EVER laid a hand on her. McNulty should be voted off the bench he is not impartial, and definitely not wise. He bought my exwife' s fake tears.
Back to the trial. My wife's only witness was her lying mother who only reported what my ex had told her. My lawyer, rightly, objected that her testimony which was entirely hearsay. That meant it was just my ex's word against mine, her best friend, my pastor's wife who had counseled her for 8 years, and my son's, had the idiot judge allowed to testify.
Even after my idiot lawyer brought up the list that I mentioned before but didn't admit in to evidence. Which my ex deflected because there was nothing the judge could see. I lost. My lawyer didn't want to appeal; apparently he has other trials in front of that judge and doesn't want to prove the judge wasn't impartial because it wouldn't look good for future cases.
This law firm will not fight for you, just your money. DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM.
