It is always an unfortunate situation that brings you to need legal help; however, I am unbelievably glad I was able to hire Mr. Bibik to help me through the process. I was in a rough situation that was filled with unknowns and Fred guided me through the journey. He insured minimal impact to my career, bank account, and livelihood. The end result was the absolute best I could've gotten given the circumstances and that was solely due to Mr. Bibik. If anyone needs a lawyer he has my highest recommendation. It can be tough navigating the landscape for legal help, but of all the consultations and initial discussion Fred was very transparent on the situation, expected outcomes, and what he can deliver. And he without a doubt delivered.

Having never been in a situation of needing an attorney, I was blessed to be referred to Mr. Bibik. I could tell right away that he had the expertise but also the calmness I needed to know that he had it taken care of and I didn't need to worry. The outcome was exactly what I wanted and he explained everything to me along the way! I will/would recommend him highly to anyone who needs his type of representation.

Fred Bibik has a long standing reputation of being one of Colorado's best attorneys. He used his experience, skill and passion for justice to ensure the very best outcome for a difficult and rather complicated criminal case resulting in several charges. Attorney Bibik is not only a brilliant trial lawyer, he is also very dedicated, thoughtful and kind. He is a willing listener, has great communication skills, and has the legal knowledge and outstanding judgment to succeed in a court case win!

Mr. Bibik was a calming force during one of the most difficult points in my life. His knowledge, wit, and approach continually reinforced I was in the right hands and things would work out. He called it (outcome) from the start and as a result, I have my life back.

I am writing this as a free man because of Fred Bibik. When your world is falling apart around you, you'll be thankful that this man is next to you. Fred has an amazing charisma that controls the room around him. While I sat there watching all other attorneys talk about their day, and their plans, Fred was the only one who was there for business. Everybody knows him in a court room, and everybody he talks to gives him the respect he deserves. It gives you a "this just might turn out ok" feeling as you watch people talk to him. You can tell he's not there to harm you in any way, and it's the feeling that you need while walking up to the judge. My case was pretty heavy, and Fred got me through. Thank you.

We recently worked with Colton Craft at Davis Schilken to put together Wills and a Family Trust for my husband and I, along with the necessary healthcare and power of attorney documents. Colton was patient, detailed, professional, and efficient. We asked MANY questions, as did he, and feel like we came away with the right decisions. Our final binder was impressive and comprehensive. Everything was well explained, and Colton could not have been more pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Colton Craft if you are looking to make this long process very easy.

My dad's employer refused to provide his insurance benefits. I contacted Robert and he helped him through the process. He met with him right away so my dad did not lose his case because of time limitations. Robert walked him through the process, analyzed every aspect of his case and helped him win depite my employer fighting the claim. My dad received every dime he was entitled too from the insurance company. I would high recommend Robert Paysinger to anyone who has been injured in a car accident or at work.

Robert Paysinger helped me with a matter that required me to go to court. His preparation was second to none, and he made feel comfortable in court because I felt so well prepared. The Law Offices of Robert Paysinger created effective exhibits for trial that were very helpful in laying my case out, and was aggressive in pursuing my case. I know Mr. Paysinger has been helping injured people for over 30 years and I would highly recommend him if you have been injured in an auto accident and at work. This involved a matter in Jefferson County, Colorado

I have been working with Travis for 8 years, and he has been an incredible lawyer, advisor, leader and (unknowingly) therapist! I have been holding out and saving my review for Travis and his team for when my ex wife stops taking me to court! Unfortunately, that has not been the case! What I do find to be reassuring is that I know Travis always has my back and is always fighting for what is in my son's best interest, my best interest, our best interest. Travis always listens and ensures he understands what it is I am feeling and needing before developing a plan. He is very strategic in everything he does, and wastes no time getting where we need to go. Travis will take the risks worth taking and when he takes them he does so with a huge heart and great passion. Travis is true and pure and I am a better person having met him.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Lakewood, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
