I had my case represented by Rick Hull and I was very satisfied with the process and outcome. I felt I was being truly represented on a personal level. I have never had to deal with a situation like this before and he helped me through a difficult time in my life. Rick was professional/knowledgeable/personable and was dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome. His team was responsive and very helpful with any information I needed. Highly Recommended

When my vehicle was torpedoed by a Broomfield City transit van, that failed to signal before diving into my lane, I immediately contacted Hull & Zimmerman for advice on how to proceed. Rick Hull courteously helped and advised me throughout the long, drawn-out process. Mr. Hull very much went against my common expectations that contacting an attorney would immediately trigger an expense that I could in no way afford. Instead, before the question of payment was even touched upon, Rick spent a great deal of time with me on multiple occasions on the phone and via email to guide and advise me through the steps I must take before even considering hiring an attorney. I highly recommend Rick Hull to anyone in search of an honest and trustworthy legal representative, and conclude with his own words that for me solidify why I would never recommend any other personal injury law firm: "I know it is not instant gratification, but do it once and do it correctly...Good luck and always know that I am here for you on this or any other matter." Why would you want anything less from your legal firm?

I would definitely recommend Rick and his team to anyone that is involved in a personal injury lawsuit. I was involved a life-changing work comp accident that required my full attention to be on healing for years. Rick and his team took care of the legal end of things and communicated well so that I could focus on life. Rick will take care of each and every client and make sure that their needs are met not only on a judicial level but on a personal level as well. 5 ⭐️

I hired Rick Hull on a brutal rear-ending auto wreck I suffered on April 30th 2021 here in Aurora, Colorado. Bodily injury, property damage, emotional trauma and other long term damages resulted in lost of time at work and sizable out of pocket expenses while I was already chocking financially. I needed a law firm I can trust to manage all aspects of my case so I can focus on healing from my injuries. I knew Rick Hull always delivers results and makes things happen for his new and returning clients. I am exceedingly happy he settled this case and made such a difference that I am back on my feet moving forward with my life. I am grateful for the compensation, his compassion and tremendous support together with the ways in which he was able to make me a part of the process because the "rituals" of this legal process were initially not easy for me to understand or grasp. Rick is a Master in this and always works in the best interest of his clients. I trust Rick blindly because he has worked hard to deserve my trust. I came to him as a client, I am now his friend.

We had to add our home to our trust. We worked with Ben and he explained it all in simple terms. Appointment times were kept which I appreciate as our time is just as valuable as theirs. The tasks were completed as promised and on schedule. I would not hesitate to recommend or use Althaus Law again for any estate planning needs.

I was fortunate to work with Michael when I was lost on what to do in a custody case. He was understanding, knowledgeable, and honest since the very first phone call. He discussed every step about how the proceeding will go and what to expect. More than that, Michael made me feel comfortable and displayed admirable integrity. I couldn't be happier with the results procured from my case. To whoever is reading this review, place your faith in Michael.

We hired Michael Grills to represent us in our case involving our family dog who was attacked and killed by a pitbull. Mr. Grills took the utmost care in the handling of our case. He was very compassionate and thorough. He definitely went above and beyond to help us get justice for our beloved family dog whom we miss dearly. We consider Mr. Grills our attorney and our friend.

I intended to write this review a while back, but have been busy. My case was hopeless. My ex had my son. I couldnt afford to live in Colorado. Somehow he made it possible with a CFI and I gained temporary primary parenting time. I dont know where we would be without Mr. Grills. Though my son and I have needed counseling to get through the circumstances for the thigs that happened. It would be far worse wih Michael. My family is forever indebted to him. The amount it cost to hire him is more than worth it.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Northglenn, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
