Tara is one of the most professional people I have had a chance to work with. Her ability to solve problems and navigate different situations is absolutely incredible. From the very beginning I was treated with respect and felt like I was the only priority. Her skills to calming any situation are one of a kind and not just calming the situation but calming you as well. You’re treated like a human going through a difficult time. She shows compassion and empathy all while getting everything done that needs to be done! I will refer her over and over again! You will not be disappointed!

Divorce is never easy. Kim and her team are very knowledgeable and professional. She was able to work around me living outside of the state without me having to do any travel. She was also able to deal with difficult situations as they came up during the process that really saved me a lot of stress. I would recommend Moreno Family Law over and over. Truly the best.

Moreno Family Law kept me informed of the details of my case. They were informative, persistent and provided me detailed step by step information. Kim & Tara are very good at what they. They are.m extremely detailed and they answered all my questions very promptly. When I asked for clarification on things I didn't understand, they took the time to talk and go over any questions I had. Great team work. I would highly recommend!

Justin was wonderful to work with from the initial consultation through the end of our child custody battle. Not only was Justin incredibly easy to work with, he was always genuine and hard working throughout our case. My husband and I had a very complex child custody case, and Justin was able to work through all the layers and issues while getting us the best case scenario when it came to court time. He will always lead the conversation with honesty and his experience of the law while giving you all the options and how to approach the issues at hand. I couldn't recommend someone more than him, and I hope if you ever find yourself in a difficult family law situation, he is one of the first calls you make.

Mr. Jaeger helped me navigate through a very difficult time in my life. He provided outstanding legal counsel and understood where what my goals were. He was patient and thorough and made sure I understood all my options while steering me to the best legal options. He also listened to me and helped me reach objectives that were important to me. I would not hesitate to hire him again because I know from very personal experience that he values his clients and seeks the best for them in every area. You will not be disappointed in working with him.

I can't say enough to express how amazing Justin is. 5 stars doesn't even come close to what I think he deserves. I have been involved in an extremely hostile custody situation for a year and half. My ex has turned everything he possibly could in to an all out assault against me, my family, my friends and my other children to the detriment of our child. Justin has been compassionate, kind, hard working and extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of my extremely difficult case. He is fair, honest and treats all parties involved with decency and respect. Justin has and continues to go above and beyond every expectation I ever have. He listens to me and works hard to ensure the best possible outcome for my child. Justin took the time to really get to know me, the situation and every aspect of the case front to back. His approach to handling these cases is what all other attorneys should strive to accomplish. I am so very thankful to Justin and the rest of the staff (they all are fantastic!) for all they have done and continue to do for my family. All you'll need is a few minutes of an initial consultation with him to see just how much better he is than any other attorney out there. Thank you Justin. You've been a life saver...literally and figuratively!

Attorney Wiley helped me through my child custody case. She was with me every step of the way, and even corrected me if I was in the wrong. She was very prompt in communicating, organized, and no nonsense. If you are looking for a great attorney, she is the person you should hire!

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Parker, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
