We have a good knowledge of other facets of Law but of course we are not Personal Injury attorneys. It is refreshing to speak with someone who #1 Listens intently #2 is respectful of our knowledge and patient in his explanations of how things will work in this realm #3 Converses with us as team members and intellectual equals rather than being arrogant and condescending like so many other attorneys we have worked with through the years and he has earned our trust and respect.

Joshua Stoll was my lawyer for an accident that I had. He and his team were very professional. I am not very good with technology but had to use that as I live in another state so I just couldn't go into the office. Joshua and his team were very understanding.

Joshua Stoll is a great asset to his field of practice. I was struck by a hit and run - drunk driver. My life was turned upside down. I was a four month kidney transplant survivor at the time of the accident Joshua Stoll step in to my case right away, walked me through the process of getting my life back on track. He was in contact with Doctors, Insurance Company, PT appointments and so much more.. I recommend Joshua Stoll to handle your case needs. We are now in our thirties with 3 kids, and Chuck helped us complete our estate planning. Chuck made the experience a positive one, even though this isn't a particularly fun subject for most people. We have peace of mind knowing we have taken this important step with someone we trust.

We've used Chuck for a few different purposes, and he has handled them each superbly. From some pretty straightforward items to some very complicated ones, he's given us great explanations of our options and his recommendations have proven to be spot on.

Charles helped my wife and I put a Living Will and Last Will and Testament together. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, made great suggestions, and was patient as we had several questions. Above all, he is honest, trustworthy, and full of integrity. I've also consulted with him on a few other matters in the past decade. His input has always been invaluable.

Michelle took on my disability case (when she was handling disability cases) after I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease. Never in my life have I had a lawyer fight so hard and with such passion on my behalf! She was dedicated, extremely knowledgeable, hard working, and professional. She always returned my calls almost immediately and knew my case and my specific health diagnoses better then some of my own doctors. I was completely blown away. She won case easily with her thoroughness and attention to detail. I cannot thank her enough! I refer all of my friends and family to her law firm and I will not go to any other law firm but hers! Absolutely amazing lawyer with amazing results!

After receiving a settlement with a different attorney, the numbers did not add up. Unfortunately I was not getting any response from our lawyer. With the help of Michelle Ciccone she reviewed the contract, settlement agreement and was able to help me through all of the legal terms. She assisted me with the drafting of letters to our attorney who was involved in our settlement. In the end Michelle helped us get what we deserved and kept us informed of our rights. Thanks to Michelle this matter has now been resolved, I just wish we could of had her as our first representing attorney in our matter. She is kind, responsive and very knowledgeable. In an dishonest world she is a light of honesty and we are truly grateful for the service she provided us.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Westminster, Colorado?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
