Attorney Cassella delivered less then expected during my divorce case. During the case it appeared that Attorney Cassella was more interested in the opposing client then in representing the person paying her. It was not uncommon for her to not argue against allegations made by the opposing attorney. The opposing client switched their attorney twice and both times Ms. Cassella appeared nervous and expressed anxiety about the high litigation skills of the opposing attorney. She was very difficult to communicate with and her charges appeared exorbitant when compared to other attorney's at the same firm. I would not consider using Ms. Cassella again and could not offer her services to someone asking for a recommendation.

I hired Mrs. Cassella because she had a direct but collaborative attitude about how she would handle my case. Once she had her retainer, I became a number. Every time I had a question, one of her associates would respond promptly and thoroughly. If they didn't have the answer, they said they'd have her contact me. After a week, I'd follow up, and it was typically another week before she responded, often in her car or on the way into court; I rarely had her full attention. Then she would suddenly be on the case, calling me with counter-proposals and wanting a decision on the spot. Court dates were the worst. I never saw what she was proposing until I got the court house and it was ten minutes before our appearance. She went from assertive in the office to antagonistic in court hearings. That's appropriate if it was something we agreed to ahead of time, but she was making demands I'd never discussed with her. She gets hung up on minor details and in my case completely lost sight of the big picture. The original offer I received was better than what I got after paying her thousands of dollars to represent me. She is technically capable but either is juggling too many cases or doesn't know how to prioritize and communicate with her clients.
