My wife and I recently connected to Freed Marcroft for guidance in completing second parent adoption for our child. With changes in current political climate, it was a tremendous relief to see a firm be so forthcoming in their hopes to support LGBTQ+ families. Not only was the desire to help apparent, the response to inquires was immediate (I received a phone call in response to an email within 2 minutes of it being sent). Our interactions have been nothing but pleasant, honest, and collaborative - we are so grateful.

My biggest takeaway from my experience was that you need serious lawyers for a serious time in your life. My ex's lawyer had a "bulldog" reputation, turned out to be all bark no bite in court. Freed Marcroft was way better in front of the judge that my ex's attorney. More prepared and more knowledgable, and the judge respected her more. I also want to say to prepare yourself to be kind of a mess during divorce, bc I know I was. My lawyers were empathetic but when I fell into the trap of feeling sorry for myself they let me vent a little but then stopped me and didn't accept my shit. Melissa reminded me that I can't change what other people do but I can change what I take from it and do with it. She was kind but firm, she stood for what I would care about down the line, not the pathetic divorce version of me. They don't take the easy way out and just listen until you shut up so they can bill you and get you off the phone. Freed Marcroft actually REALLY cares about you, and are EXCELLENT lawyers.
