If I could give zero stars I would! I received a frivolous, baseless and retaliatory "NOTICE TO QUIT" from Colin. He insisted that I vacate the premise by August 31st. Why? He claimed that I have failed to agree to a proposed rent increase which simply was not true. And falsely claimed that I have only been paying the prior rental rate of $425 when in fact the prior rental for lot rent I have in fact been paying has been $420 from Jan 2023 through December 2023. Not the $425 as he falsely claimed. I feel he falsified legal documents and willfully fabricated all of this just to give the illusion that I have not agreed to a rent increase when in fact I have. Claiming I have ONLY been paying the prior rental of $425 when in fact the prior rental I have paid was $420 gives that illusion.
His client wanted to raise me to $441. But also offered to work out a rent solution to anyone having difficulties keeping up with the lot rent. I previously reached out to his client 3 times to work out a solution and his client ignored me. So I made a very good faith effort to pay an increase and sent in an extra $5.00 per month over the previous year which was the per-pandemic rental increase. His client made zero effort to work out the solution he originally offered to make. And 7 months, he decides he is unhappy with the increase I am paying him? There simply is no justification to send a "NOTICE TO QUIT" over this. I feel this is simply a “Smoke and mirrors” tactic by him to try and have me evicted under false pretenses. Claiming I am ONLY paying the prior rental rate when in fact I have been paying more. And he knows this.
The “NOTICE TO QUIT” in Connecticut should not include the names of minor children. This is because the law prohibits landlords from serving a notice to quit on a minor under 18. His client was very well aware that I have a minor child. An innocent, sweet, loving, caring 10 year old autistic child.
And to make matters worse, he decided to hit below the belt and include his full name in this eviction. I believe this was done solely and purposely for no reason other than to harass, intimidate and attack my child. And to add insult to injury, he even highlighted my minor child’s name! As an Attorney, he should know children are off limits! And to leave the children out of this and leave them alone!
This “NOTICE TO QUITE” I truly believe was based solely on retaliation and revenge for taking his client to court prior in which his client lost the case. Colin was not the attorney on the case at that time but he works close with his client.
This was inexcusable. My child is only 10! This will result in legal action against him, possibly for many years to come. For starters, I will file a grievance complaint. I DO NOT recommend this attorney to anyone.

I promised I would write this for Colin two months ago, but life happens, and often not as one expected, so I apologize that this review is a little late. After a June 2013 car accident in which I was rear-ended, I was not going to pursue legal action, but a friend convinced me to contact a lawyer, and I'm glad I did. I chose Colin's firm because of their good reputation within our community, and Colin proved that to be true. He made me feel welcome from the moment we met, listened to what happened, and provided legal advice with no pressure to hire. I did decide to hire Colin, and over our 20-month relationship he was thoughtful, caring, respectful, dependable, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. He worked hard to ensure that I received a fair settlement and always kept me apprised of the next steps in the process. We had an open and honest dialogue and he was forthcoming with new information so I was never in the dark. I would highly recommend Colin for any legal counsel. Should the need arise, I know which firm I will return to in the future. Thank you, Colin!!!

I would give my highest recommendation for Attorney Colin Mahon as he recently handled my Social Security Disability Case which resulted in a favorable decision for my family and I.
Before seeking his services I was extremely overwhelmed with the uncertainty of the legal process but this was met with Attorney Colin's assurances, clear expertise in his field, timeliness in both sending and receiving all communications, the most noteworthy of skills in handling every aspect of the case from beginning to conclusion, and a great overall demonstration of professional proficiency...ALL of which was most welcomed and truly appreciated in a time of great personal difficulty.
I feel especially grateful that should the need arise for legal services of any kind in the future we now have a lawyer that we would not hesitate in contacting who could again meet and surpass all expectations.

Attorney Mahon is exactly as described here in his profile on AVVO. Though my case does not warrant his representation at this time, he still spent a lengthy amount of time intently listening to my story, explaining the process I would be going through, and answering all of my questions. I found Attorney Mahon to be a curteous, caring, compassionate, and trustworthy professional who is well-versed in his field of law. Should the need for legal services in his area of expertise arise in the future, I will most assuredly follow up with this attorney.

After suffering for a long time with a disability, and finally deciding it was time to apply for Social Security Disability, I realized the process was not an easy, quick process. I had to obtain an attorney for assistance and I chose Attorney Colin Mahon because he is located in the town I reside. I was pleasantly surprised at how professional, on task, efficient and knowledgeable he is on the disability laws and process. He made my experience positive and helped me understand the next steps to take at all times. Going through the process alone is overwhelming to say the least. But most importantly (for me), he was a non judgmental, calming force when I had my court appointment with the judge. So very satisfied and happy I found him.

Everyone needs a good doctor, a good mechanic, and a good attorney. My husband and I made a terrible mistake by purchasing a timeshare at an exorbitant price. Attorney Mahon advised us of our legal rights and helped us write a letter rescinding the contract. He also updated our wills and helped me obtain a power of attorney for my aging mother. The power of attorney has been crucial in managing my mother's affairs as she has become progressively incapacitated with Alzheimer's disease.
It is comforting to know that whenever we have a legal problem, our attorney will be there to help us through it. I have found Attorney Mahon to be trustworthy, knowledgeable, tenacious and approachable. I highly recommend him and never plan on going elsewhere.

Attorney Mahon was recommended to me by a close relative. I first went to him to update a will and was very pleased with his professionalism.
When I was involved in a very bad car accident a few years later, I called him because I was not able to deal with insurance companies and worry about doctor and hospital bills. Attorney Mahon dealt with all of it. My bills were paid to the doctors, hospital and physical therapist, Medicare was reimbursed, I was continuously updated on the progress of the case, and received a fair settlement in a timely manner. It gave me peace of mind knowing that a professional was handling everything.
I have the highest regard for Attorney Mahon and would recommend him to anyone.

In 2012 we had Colin handle a personal injury case. Throughout the process Colin kept us updated on the progress of the case, was easily accessible (promptly returned phone calls and/or emails), and answered all of our questions in layman’s terms. It was clear that Colin genuinely cared and sympathized with our situation. The office has a welcoming family atmosphere rather than a large firm, so you truly aren’t just a number. In 2013 we had Colin handle the closing on our new house and there were several issues that had come up (e.g., a lien on the property) in addition, there was an issue with the mortgage company not being ready to close when we needed to move. Colin quickly put together a ‘hold harmless agreement’ that would allow us to essentially rent our home until the closing went through a week later. Through this stressful time, Colin kept us informed, updated, and reassured that everything would work out. He is everything one would want in a lawyer (hardworking, detail oriented, caring, and honest).
