I came to Barry 4 years ago for a work comp case. I had no idea what to do or who to turn to. I had a friend going through the same thing with the same insurance company. My friend referred me to Barry. It has been a very long process, but having Barry on my side and helping me understand the process has helped me so much. Barry helped me get a second opinion from another doctor who said he was able to help me. Barry was also able to get me my temperary disability pay while I was out of work. I know on my own that would not have happened. Like I said it has been a 4 year road in this process but as it sit here today and write this I am pain free and I am able to live a normal life again and I have Barry Moller to thank . My case is still ongoing for now, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I am thankful to have Barry fighting for me. He has been there to answer my questions and concerns. I have to say his paralegal Denise has been amazing as well. Thank you a thousand times Barry and Denise. I know it's not over yet but what you guys have done so far with my case has helped me be pain free and able to participate in life again.

Over the years, I have referred several clients to Atty. Moller. I always know a client is in good hands if they are in the need of an excellent worker's compensation attorney. He is an intelligent, compassionate lawyer who will zealously represent an injured worker. I highly recommend Atty. Moller.

Attorney Barry Moller is not only a fantastic lawyer but a wonderful person. I have a very difficult and often downright nasty case and I feel so lucky to know that I have Barry and his paralegal Denise always looking out for my well being. I trust them wholeheartedly and I love that we are able to work as a team. I try my very hardest to improve my health as much as possible and Barry and Denise always go above and beyond to fight for me to get the best medical care possible. I had a lawyer previous to meeting Attorney Moller so he did not take on my case at the beginning. My case was not in a good place due to misrepresentation so he had to work even harder to prove I am a genuine, hard working person that just wants to feel better and get back to living as normal life as possible. Barry is very straight forward and will tell you like it is. I really like this quality as I also know that when he says something he really means it. Barry was recommended to me by a very close family friend and I highly recommend him as well. I really can’t put into words the positive impact he has had on my life and I will be forever thankful. If you are looking for a lawyer to represent you for a worker’s compensation case, you will not find a team better then Attorney Barry Moller and is paralegal Denise Maytas.

Perhaps it was because I was female, or did not fully comprehend the sequence of events, but I feel much time was wasted . I never quite had a handle on what to expect. Things changed every other court date. It was a confusing and frustrating three years. I was asked to conduct work searches while injured and unable to work. Everything was last minute and hap hazard . Calls went unanswered , I had to make my own decisions. I ended up same or worse if I had gone to no one.it was difficult, scary, nerve wracking experience that still won't end. As I said, the initial consult was clear, confident and organized and about one year into case, I felt like I was just abandoned.

After a bad work related accident, I was referred to Cramer and Anderson, specifically Attorney Barry Moller. During our first meeting, I could tell that Attorney Moller was extremely knowledge and professional. I knew I made the right choice contacting him. Attorney Moller and his staff were always available to answer any questions or concerns I had and were just a phone call away. They worked effortlessly to keep me informed, to make sure that I was seen by the best doctors, and to help me navigate the complex world of a work related injury. I highly recommend Attorney Moller and his staff to anyone who needs legal advice or help.

Sanity saving decision to hire Ms. Arnold and her solicitous staff—-I would rather try crossing a swamp at night with neither a compass or a light than attack the Medicaid application unaided.

Felt very comfortable and at ease. A no nonsense lawyer. He answered questions that I had 5 years later when child support was not being paid. Top notch and highly recommend. He looked out for my son's best interests and mine!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of New Milford, Connecticut?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
