I HIGHLY recommend Attorney Fazzone. I secured his services for a domestic case where I clearly and truly was not at fault. As I have never been in legal trouble, I was extremely nervous and anxious about the ordeal. Mr. Fazzone not only got all charges dismissed, but he was very communicative and comforting! A++ service from a fantastic lawyer, and also a great person!

Vincent first saw me talking to the prosecutor in the local court house about an unfair violation ticket given that had consequences i would unlikely get out of, especially on my own. Mr. Fazzone saw me and felt the urge to come up to me, not only calm me down but kindly explain how he could help. He gave me his card, i called, the rest was history. He went above and beyond to fight for me countless times for nearly a year before finally WINNING my case! He pushed and pushed to get more time and assured me it was all for a reason, no matter how impatient I became, he was kind and understanding and continued to remind me why he was doing all this. He helped me and saved me from a world of trouble and couldn't be more grateful. 10/10 hire this man you will NOT be disappointed.

Out of the letters I received for consultation with potential legal representation, Attorney Fazzone's spoke to me the most. The reviews I read about him providing excellent feedback were 100% true. I hired him immediately & it was the best decision I've ever made! He was completely professional, helpful, informative, knowledgeable, personable, honest, upfront, trustworthy, and affordable. He was available to reach whenever I needed, always responded immediately & even went out of his way to meet at our initial consultation. He made me feel at ease at a time my case was causing me much stress & anxiety. He listens to his clients, has empathy for them where the courts may not do the same & he will fight for them to make sure the end result is justice being served! He is everything I had hoped & expected for & more in an attorney, as well as an incredible person. He truly cares about his clients & it shows! He was able to guide me through everything, kept me in the know about what was going on, what could happen, and what the best and worst case outcome scenarios were. When all was said & done, he was able to get my case dismissed. I couldn't be more grateful! I am so happy his letter for legal council made its way to me! I could not have done this without him! As well as I am positive the outcome would definitely not had been the same without him! Reflecting back on that fateful letter sent to me, everything it stated turned out to be true as well as a sign for me to hire the best legal representation there was out there!

If you want a lawyer that will listen and fight for you then you want Vincent I can't express enough how great a lawyer he is. When I hired Vincent I had a conundrum, you see I already hired a lawyer and I had just given him a lot of money to represent me but this is before I realized he is probably the worst lawyer in the state of Connecticut perhaps all of New England. It was either stay with this lawyer and go to jail for years ( that how bad he was ) or take the money as a loss and get a lawyer that knew what he was doing. Luckily I ran into Vincent at the courthouse and just listening to him I knew I wanted him as my lawyer. I hired him right away and I knew I had made the right decision when I seen him in court. He listens to you, he fights for you and he does everything he can to make sure you get a fair fight. To put it in perspective the other "lawyer" I had was going to have me do six years in jail for a simple dui, if you can believe that, Vincent had the same charges knocked down to a fine. Vincent knows his way around the courtroom and he'll fight his hardest for you that's all you really need in a great attorney.

I have depended on Vin for legal counsel in both my business and personal life, and could not more highly recommend him as a lawyer. Not only is he knowledgeable and sharp, but he is a great listener, and takes the time to understand the situation and/or issue at hand. My past dealings with attorneys had been sub-par, where they often did what was in their own best interest...be it settling for less or taking a deal because it served their timetables better. With Vin, I have found a lawyer that I can trust to have MY best interest in mind. Let's be honest, most people (like myself) don't have time to learn and understand the nuances of the laws, and Vin has taken that burden off my hands numerous times. Finally a lawyer I can consider a partner and not a consultant!

I've worked with Atty. Smith in both my professional occupation and as my own personnal attorney. As a former mortgage banker I've worked with numerous attorneys and he was by far one of the best. I've worked with him for real estate, LLC's, leases and evictions.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Norwich, Connecticut?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
