I found Alan through Nolo. I had no prior experience getting legal advice, and I was pretty sure I understood the implications of the agreements I'd signed with my employer, but I needed to be sure. I purchased a 1-hour consultation for $300, and I'm not going to lie, I felt a bit of sticker shock. Again, this is my first time getting legal advice. Like another review by JRM, the topic that I initially asked for advice on only took like 20 minutes to get answered. Unlike JRM's experience, however, when I tried to get advice on another, unrelated topic, Alan didn't object. So I don't know if I got away with something they don't typically do. The consultation itself went pretty well. I found that I often didn't explain things precisely, and Alan had to ask for clarification. I think Alan is very experienced, and I found his analysis to be trustworthy. The analysis wasn't really what I expected though. I expected to given an explanation of all the laws that could apply to my situation, but more often I was told things like "the employer could argue x" or "typically these agreements are interpreted narrowly" (not direct quotes). That's not to say the analysis was wrong, or bad, it's just unexpected. If I could go back in time, I would probably point out my inexperience at the start of the consultation.

Mr. Lescht has a very rough 'legalise manner but he gets the job done.' He presents very well before the Judge in my case of unemployment where we succeeded overwhelmingly in a field that is rarely won by the victim:) Susan M. Hockett-Barela BARELA* v. USA/ (USA v. I had one consultation that lasted twenty minutes with the owner, Mr. Lescht; $300. He offered me no insight, just to allow the process to continue. Great counsel. I had another matter that I had to talk with him about, and they wanted another $300 for another consultation fee. Now, you would think that a reputable law firm would offer the remaining 40 minutes at no charge; nope, not this firm. Pure GREED; lack of understanding; poor service. He charges $650/hour. After what I just experienced, I’m glad I saw their true colors now before spending my hard earned money on their services. Total disappointment.

I have known Ken Trombly for many years in his professional capacity as a personal injury attorney. As an attorney, I do not practice in that area, but I think it is critical to have the names of other attorneys in whom I have confidence so I can make appropriate referrals. I feel very comfortable when making referrals to Ken wheneverr the need has arisen.
