Ms. Starks provided exceptional courtesy, representation and service. I’ve never felt more valued with any other lawyer. You can tell her staff share the same values. Ms. Starks should be your first choice.

Although I didn’t have a case, I was able to share details of my recent automobile accident and she listened and allowed me to be vulnerable. Very much appreciate her taking the time to speak with me and give me understanding about what things I didn’t know. Other attorneys that I spoke with only brushed me off and passed me to the next atty. Based on this interaction I’m sure I would have been well advised and well taken care of! Thank you again, Ms. Starks.

I've spent the past year working with Suzanne to resolve my child custody legal issue. She is thorough and an excellent communicator. Observing her at trial was impressive because the opposing attorney was an utter disaster. Suzanne was organized and articulate. No one likes spending money on attorneys, but she saved me THOUSANDS!

Mr. Gary is an excellent attorney. He represented my son in a criminal case and worked diligently to get everything resolved. His lifetime of experience in the courtroom give him an undeniable advantage in knowing exactly what needs to be done. He is very reasonable with his fees and upfront. My experiences with attorneys in the past have not been the same. I would highly recommend Mr. Gary.

Ms. Gregory was incredible. She found "hiding" money while I was being sued for a decrease in Child Support. Due to this knowledge, there was no decrease allowed. She worked very hard for me and my child, and kept me posted throughout the process.

I decided to use Ms. Kessing yet again! (Second time) I retained her as my legal counsel in a civil litigation matrer. I was wrongfully terminated by my current employer and needed to take immediate action with a current EEOC claim I decided to file. She handled all aspects of this case with the highest degree of concern and professionalism. When I decided to go with Kerrie Kessing again for the second time... I'm sure glad I didn't go to someone else. At least I knew what I was getting the second time around. No regets and we settled for more money than I was expecting in court. Compared to other attorneys, she is the best value for the money!!! I've had nothing but sucess, regarding the Kessing Law Firm. Thanks again for the second time Kerrie!

5 years ago my life was turned upside down when I was accused and charged with a crime I did not commit, It almost destroyed mine and my families life. My long time family attorney died a year into the case and I had to fire the second lawyer as he was unwilling to go to trial. This is when God brought Kerrie Kessing into my life. She took my case and held my hand the whole way. I was a mess the entire time and plagued by nightmares and crippling anxiety. Being accused of a crime you haven't committed is one the worst feelings someone can go through but Kerrie knew I was innocent and fought harder than anyone has ever fought for me. She has an amazing grasp of the law and her professionalism is beyond reproach. After nearly 5 years Kerrie was able to present my case and the overwhelming evidence of my innocence to the state and we won! I pray no one ever has to endure what I went through, but if you do, and your blessed enough to find Kerrie and the Kessing Law Firm and she takes your case...know that she3 will not stop until she proves your innocence! Its hard to believe that its over, but each and every day I thank God for bringing Kerrie into my life!

My encounter - My divorcing spouse wanted to cherry-pick among our 'same-blood' children during our divorce. Angie's judge-recommendation was to award 'division' of our children, between homes, instead of awarding them to stay together, between homes. --Is that looking out for our children's best interests? really?... I unfortunately discovered later I was not the only one she did this to during her practice of law. Ask yourself, who separates young brothers and sisters of the same bloodline? --Angie does I've found, and does it regularly. Caution -check her records.

Angela Woodall is without a doubt the worse lawyer I have ever encountered. Her office looks like it just came out of a cardboard box, She claimed to be an expert on family law but when we went to mediation the opposing counsel schooled her like she was a pre-law undergrad. Every-time she needed a document for my case she asked me to print it because her printer was small and too expensive to use. After it became evident that the divorce was not going to be as simple as she promised she withdrew from the case without notice. If she is your lawyer dismiss her immediately before you get screwed over as well. I am posting this anonymously as I have a pending complaint against her with the GA Bar.

I hired Ms. Woodall in 2017, I told her that I needed an attorney that would have my best interest during my divorce. In my opinion What I got was an attorney who was not knowledgeable about the law and constantly asking for money, though we never made it to court. I continuously asked her what my case status was and have you talked to the other attorney. In my opinion it seemed I would almost have to force her to contact my wife's lawyer. It is my opinion that she was never aggressive, she would say I just need another payment to take us to the end of the case but there was never an end. After almost a year of seemingly no results. I asked her to please remove herself from the case. I filed for a hearing myself and hired another attorney. Surprise, surprise I was divorced in a month. From this new attorney I learned that I didn't have to pay the whole mortgage on a house I didn't live in and that my ex wife should have paid at least half. My new attorney asked why I never got an emergency hearing? She said a judge would have made her pay because she had no vested interests to do so. In my opinion that would have been nice to know from Ms. Woodall. I wound up paying the entire mortgage for a year. Then the new lawyer asked me why I was giving my wife 35% of a house she did not buy, never paid mortgage in, and her name was not on the deed. My new attorney explained that she could have gotten that percentage much lower. In my opinion that would have also been nice to know from Ms. Woodall. Instead Ms. Woodall worked a 65% to 35% split. I never write reviews but I am making a special exception for Ms. Woodall. There are thousands of good attorneys in the Atlanta to Dallas GA area, in my opinion she is not one of them. Save your self some time and money by always check reviews when hiring an attorney. In my opinion run from any attorney with low rating on Avvo and other such sites.

I would never refer or advise anyone to hire Mr.Craven for any type of representation. My family had a very bad experience with this attorney. He showed no concern about us as his client or our lively hood , He showed interest and concern to the case up until he received his payment in full. From that point on he did not communicate with us at all and was clueless as to what he was even hired for , knew nothing about us or our case at hand . He was very arrogant and preceded to do anything to help our case or even get to know us as his client. He seems to be only about getting paid. Attorneys who take money from people at their most valnerable state and do nothi ng to support, protect or help that person after being paid should not get away with doing so a second ,third or twenth time. The fact of the matter is he has a responsibility to uphold as an attorney and should do so. Thank You

Even at writing a letter, this lawyer's team is not very competent. So far, I have dealt with 3 revisions just for my son's first name on a letter! And every revision takes almost a week to respond. I can only imagine what kind of issues a client will have if its a complicated matter, if getting the first name right is taking so long.

Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.

Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
