I had the pleasure of being represented by Joe for a case in 2013. He came highly recommended by peers in the legal profession all the way down the Eastern seaboard. If you are looking to retain the services of an attorney you can trust and the performance to match, look no further than Joe and the rest of the partners at Dooley, Avery, & Noone. Joe maintains high standards of moral quality in combination with highly-skilled execution. He made me feel like a person and not a case number. Not only would I recommend him for those in need of representation, I would gladly spend the time endorsing his character, performance, and integrity on multiple forums.

Graeme took on what I am sure sounded like a small project that managed to balloon its way into something bigger. What started out as a simple lease contract review devolved into Graeme needed to correct everything, even the business name and details of the party that drafted the initial Lease. He was able to stand in for us in meetings that we just couldn't make it to and always represented us professionally. He was quick with getting us information we needed and made a point to get back to us quickly whenever we called., if he didn't outright just pick up then.

Mr. Brown and his firm are not only knowledgeable but personable as well. I found myself voiceless in an unforeseen and uncontrollable crisis, unaware of what to do or where to turn. Upon hiring Mr. Brown, I was treated as a client with rights and equally, as a person whom faced frightening uncertainty concerning my health. Graeme and his team were with me every single step of the way. They explained everything to me that i needed. Every single phone call and email to Graeme and his staff have always been treated with the utmost importance. I was always made to feel like I was the top priority. Their knowledge, compassion, commitment to my case and accessibility helped guide me through one of the most difficult periods in my life. I can't thank Graeme and Kathy enough. I would strongly recommend Graeme Brown to any person.

He not only is a skilled practitioner, but Graeme's business background makes him especially understanding and sensitive to how legal issues affect business operations. Graeme's philosophy is coined best by "can do"! I heartily recommend him.

If you are looking for counsel that will take the time to understand YOU, your needs, your wants, and what is in your best interest, look no further. Several years ago, I stumbled across the Laura A. Panos Law Office online when in need of employment law advice. Recently, when I needed very strong and capable representation for a personally and professionally upsetting and difficult employment situation, I knew that Laura would be the right representation for me. I cannot say enough good things about Laura and her office. She is incredibly knowledgeable, competent, compassionate, and passionate. It is the combination of all of these traits that I believe makes her so outstanding at what she does. Effective and aggressive representation with a unique perspective -- it is right there on her website. It's that description that brought me to her the first time, what I found to be true and brought me back the second time, and should I ever need her in the future. Laura will help guide you to what YOU need, understanding you as a unique person first and foremost. And, based on what you want, she will fight for you like no else will fight for you. I am thankful for Laura's legal representation. Even more so, perhaps, is the confidence knowing that I had someone truly in my corner when dealing with a very emotional and upsetting employment situation. If you've read this review - look no further. You've found the lawyer you've been looking for.

My husband and I sought the help of Mr.Cotton when we were blind sided for a Modification of support 2 weeks prior to moving out of state from my husbands older children (due to job relocation), At the time we were trying to work out a new visitation agreement with the girls mother with no success. Mark prevailed through all the struggles and we now have the visitation we need to maintain a healthy fulfilling relationship with our older children. Mark was very patient and understanding when it came to the best needs of the children. He is the first lawyer I have met that genuinely cares for his clients and their needs. Dealing with Mark was always a pleasure, He was always very informative and always kept in constant contact with us letting us know where we stood and the next steps. I would and have recommended Mark to anyone looking for legal service. He is outstanding!!!

About a decade ago, my wife and I needed an estate plan to protect our children. David and his team came highly recommended by several of our friends. He was very patient and knowledgeable, explaining each issue and our options in language we could understand. They crafted a strategy and related documents that felt very well-suited to our needs and stage in life. We are planning to return soon for some tweaks now that the kids are out of college and working.

I had 2 meetings with Atn. Egleson to discuss my options regarding my child custody case. She was very knowagable of the law and in case law concerning the issues in my case. I don't know much about the law and frankly I would like to keep it that way. She was able to explain things to me in terms that I could understand without bogging me down with extra details or time. We couldn’t be more pleased with the excellent service David Adams provided to us in setting up and establishing our Estate Plan. The plan he designed for us includes will, trust, HIPAA, homestead, and power of attorney documentation, etc. This encompasses a great amount of detail. David patiently worked with us to outline our options and provided us with what we feel to be strong solutions to protect our assets and to avoid probate in the event of our passing. We are very grateful for Mr. Adams’ thoroughness and trustworthiness taking the time to listen with a thoughtful ear and to explain to us in a manner so that we could understand what our plan entails. The peace of mind this provides to us knowing that we and our loved ones will be provided for and that there will be less legal hassle during a time of loss is invaluable. We are comforted to have David Adams as our Estate Planning Attorney and to know he is available to us throughout the years to come to help us along this path of life. Our thanks to David for helping us feel a little more Safe, Secure and Sound by providing his counsel with such important life decisions and documents!

Received or think you are about to receive a Summons concerning a debt lawsuit. Or you have been hurt by a product and feel you should be able to file a lawsuit. Don't want a huge mountain dealing with the court system on your shoulders. Attorney Ken Quat is the Attorney for you. Please note that the above address is wrong. Attorney Quat moved from that location and is now at 929 Worcester Road, Framingham, MA.,01701 866-907-1220. But, what is more nerve wracking, ulcer making, migraine than when you get a Summons in the mail about a credit card lawsuit. 1st one I received in 2014 I went through it myself. And had wished I had gone searching for a Consumer Protection Attorney. The experience was that horrible. Then I received another (in 2016) Summons concerning a credit card lawsuit a few years after the first. I was scared. Just the thought of going through what I went through. I searched online for an attorney to help with the lawsuit and made a list. I called a few and they were not willing to help me. Or told me to file for bankruptcy. Until I came to Attorney Ken Quat. I called him and left him a message. I honestly thought when he would call that I would get the same run around as I did with the other attorneys. NOT SO!! Attorney Quat is very easy to talk with. And I discover later very easy to work with. When I spoke to him he was very understanding of my situation. He explained to me of all my options. Remember that many debt collectors/credit card companies hire big name lawfirms. And they are very intimidating. As they take advantage of the fact you don't know what you are doing or what you are signing. Attorney Ken Quat took care of everything. I didn't have to deal with anything at all. Remember by hiring an attorney those who are suing you can not contact you. They have to contact your attorney. Huge relief. I have since had to hire him a few times. And he is always there to help. If you have a situation concerning anything to do with debt lawsuits or feel you have been hurt and feel you have to file a lawsuit. Then Attorney Quat is the attorney you want in your corner. He is not afraid to go against any big name company's. Attorney Quat is very, very professional, knowledgeable and truly cares for those who hire him. He will give you 100% of himself in helping you. (Trust me I am the type of person who will not tolerate someone who isn't.).

Avery Dooley & Noone accepted an engagement to assist the Rotary Club of Arlington MA to form a 501c3 corporation to facilitate its charitable fund-raising activities. Peter Noone (quality oversight) and Danielle Gifford (hands-on legal counsel) were the principals involved. The firm provided a cost estimate in advance and stayed on budget. We had heard various stories from other Rotary Clubs and different organizations that this could be seven-to-twelve month process. The firm worked closely with us in developing drafts of articles of organization, corporate by-laws, conflict-of-interest guidelines and IRS filing documents. We started in late December, and had our state filings in February, which were approved within days. With the firm's guidance, we filed our IRS documents in March and received approval in April, which none of our prior consultants believed could have been possible. I have had dozens of engagements with legal counsel in my decades as CEO and director of several companies. Peter Noone and Danielle Gifford made this engagement among the best.

Nancy reviewed and charged me for inventory of accounting for individuals who received nothing of monetary value from the estate and had zero entitlement to any of the funds documented in the inventory. Despite being made aware of this, she was not understanding or empathetic and refused to discuss with the other attorney involved until she was paid. She didn’t listen to what I had to say, she wasn’t solutions oriented, and she lacked any sense of customer service skills. Furthermore, shortly after I received her bill, she called me and I explained it was not a good time, she told me I needed to make time and it would be brief as we needed to discuss her “getting paid”. I responded by letting you know that I had just lost two very close family members and she abruptly hung up on me offering no condolences or compassion. No one should be treated the way she treats people with this kind of inhumane behavior, especially the people who are paying her for services. This is not the right way to conduct business

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
