I wish to thank Holger Siegwart with a difficult inheritance situation that we, as a family, were unable to resolve without his and his colleagues help.
The untimely and tragic loss of our mother, Ute Staup, who wished to leave us her house in Bad Karlshafen to always cherish her memory and the warm memories of our late grandparents, Walter and Helene Sippel.
Mr. Sigwart approached our case with personal intrest, care and a genuine goal to help. Elaine was recommended to me for my separation, custody and child support case that I previously tried to file on my own. She was extremely knowledgeable, kind, heartfelt and honest with me regarding my unique and complex case.
During quite possibly the hardest time in my life, Elaine guided me with important information, prepped and represented me in multiple court hearings and never dragged things out or made me feel like she didn’t have my best interest in mind. Through my year and half custody battle she eased over a lot of stress I had and I can honestly say I couldn’t of done it without her and her rockstar legal team. Julie, Elaine’s paralegal was whom I initially spoke to over the phone and was my first impression of the firm. I could tell right off the bat that this was the law office I wanted to retain.
Multiple time sensitive things that got dropped from opposing counsel last minute always got resolved and I know Elaine and her team always made sure my tail was covered.

Elaine was the attorney I worked with for my Collaborative Divorce. She was patient and really listened to my story, which was important to me. This is especially true when you are working to dissolve a long-term marriage where there are children and hard-earned assets involved. My divorce was the most important negotiation of my life. Ms. Fraser was my consulting attorney during my mediation process. I was 'switching off' as I was anxious, stressed out and terrified through my divorce since each of our mediation sessions was like reliving the trauma of my marriage in a 2 hour time capsule. Ms. Fraser patiently broke it down and explained the nuances of the proceedings giving me context and perspective that made sense to my anxious brain, but she was also gently empowered and encouraged me to speak up and question things for myself. I was a part of a tenant’s association that needed to negotiate the sale of our apartment building, and Andrew was so effective at guiding us through the process. He was extremely responsive and transparent, and negotiated a contract that was more than satisfactory for all of the tenants in the association. We just received our final payment, and Andrew was the reason we were able to have a stress-free move out of our building. I would not think twice about recommending him to anyone in need of an attorney, and especially for anything involving DC tenant’s rights. Thank you Andrew!

I've worked with a number of attorneys and professional service firms but, Andrew Kirtley sits right at the top. He is very knowledgeable in the area of tenant representation and demonstrates a killer mindset for serving the client. I wish all of my interactions with attorneys were this good. I first met with Andrew on a Friday afternoon and left our meeting feeling absolutely great going into the weekend. I was impressed with his advice and felt confident in our plan of action. Andrew did a great job understanding and giving guidance during the initial consultation. After I hired him, he quickly and efficiently worked with the other side to get a fair settlement. I retained Chris for two landlord/tenant issues (as a tenant). He promptly resolved my first case - an issue where I have a service animal and landlord tried to change terms of my lease to not allow my ESA. My second case was an Ellis Act eviction and effectively assisted with an eligible extension for the move out date, and professionally guided me through the rest of the process. When the managing partner at the company where I was also a partner decided he had found a pretext to oust me from the partnership and deny me my fair share of the previous year's profits, Monica was the first person I thought of to call. She was thorough in asking all the right questions and was very thoughtful in highlighting what the costs of litigation might be at every step of the way. Having read the partnership agreement, she determined the managing partner had no legal justification for what he was doing. She was also crystal clear on the next steps I had to take - essentially business as usual and ignore the managing partner's threats. It felt counter-intuitive at the time, but she was absolutely right. Then, during the settlement negotiations, I felt safe and with her counsel I stuck to my guns and walked away with an excellent pay off.

I first consulted Scott Hartley in October 2010. My wife and I wanted to review and revise our Wills, and also a Family Trust that we had established many years previously. Also, we needed to do a Durable Power of Attorney, and Advance Health Care Directive. It was apparent immediately that Scott Hartley had broad expertise in all these areas. He listened carefully to what we said, and asked critical questions in order to understand our wishes and needs. He did a first rate job in setting up all the documents for us and taking us through them so that we understood what they meant. We have recently needed to meet with Scott again to re-visit the documents drawn up in 2010, and seek his advice regarding some changes that we had in mind. Again, the whole experience has been very positive. He listened, and asked the right questions to make sure he understood what our concerns were. then, he told us in clear language what the options were, and the consequences of each option from a legal standpoint.
Scott is thoughtful, and clearly an expert in his profession. I have a great deal of confidence in him, and I am delighted that he is our lawyer.

After getting laid off, I wanted a more thorough legal understanding of my employer's separation agreement. I have been searching for a constuction lawyer to help me out with a Mechanic's lien. I talked to several Lawyers and most were dissmisive when they found out they can't make money from my case and hung up. Mr. Hibbard was very helpful in guiding me over the phone and was not pushy to solicit future work. Gave great advise on his first contact with me. Last October I used Mr. Hibbard's services after my dog was involved in a fight with another dog. Within a few days, I received a threatening letter from the dog owner's attorney saying that if I didn't give them a large sum of money immediately, they would take further legal action and have my dog impounded.
Mr. Hibbard reviewed the letter and knew immediately that I was a victim of extortion. He reassured me their demands were unethical and I had nothing to worry about. After receiving Mr. Hibbard's response to the letter, the other attorney called and said the matter was completely dropped. I am very grateful to Mr. Hibbard for his services.
