Ten years ago Cindy set up a trust for me and I found my experience with her to be very satisfying. The majority of my cantact with attorneys, in the past, has been with criminal lawers, most of whom I do not trust but Cindy is different. She is very knowledgeable, honest, caring, open and a very nice lady. Give her a try. If you have as good experience as I did you will come away with a big smile on your face.

Scarlett was the best divorce attorney, I could’ve ever hired! My divorce was over and done within three months, and she made sure things got done and accomplished in a timely manner and always communicated with me.

I hired Deborah Hardin to take my Social Security disability case. She did absolutely nothing for me but file paperwork. She does absolutely nothing for you when it comes to court she has no idea what she’s doing. She does not know how to represent you very well. When you have to ask your lawyer what’s the best course of action for yourself that should be a red flag that this lawyer is terrible? And that’s exactly what happened in my case so I fired her and hired a real attorney well fast forward to the future same medical evidence I get approved and now her office wants to come back and petition the court for some of my backpay but yet they didn’t win the case Absolutely pathetic why you would even do that is beyond my comprehension. She’s runs a horrible law office, and I would not recommend her for nothing.

I could not have asked for a better experience or a better team to work with! Deborah and her entire team were on top of everything! Not to mention how professional, caring, and understanding they were throughout the entire process. I had been fighting for social security disability benefits for over a year before I made contact with Hardin Law – I wish that I had reached out sooner. In the end, it was a difficult process, but Deb and Trish were able to help me get approved and obtain the year and a half of backpay that I was entitled to. They were there every step of the way! Even after the approval, they continued to check in and make sure that the payments were set up for me. They literally changed my life around and helped me get back on my feet – 5 Star! Take it from me, don’t go through the process alone, call The Hardin Law Firm.

Cliff helped me get custody of my two kids from their mother in Utah. It was an uphill battle one, trying as a father to get custody from their mother, and two, trying to get them from another state. Everything worked out great. I'd recommend him for anyone looking for a local, established and respected family law pro.

Purchased title insurance thru his company. They failed to disclose ihformation to me that has so far cost me over $12,000 in legal fees. His letter regarding my situation was insulting, demeaning and was full of lies he gathered from the very people I am suing. I met with him after closing to discuss various problems and he was no help. He spent very little time with me and I always left with more questions than answers. He has never sat down with me and attorney(s) to discuss anything to do with my case(s). If I could go back and do things differently, choosing a different title company would be my top priority. Post or don't post. Contact me for specifics or don't contact me. I don't care. I am relaying to you what I think of him based on what I experienced and continue to experience TODAY and I believe that Someone at that firm knew there was a problem with my property. It is too big a thing to NOT find, especially being one MAJOR thing they're supposed to be looking for.

Steve was very thorough in his explanations each time we met and took the time to contact me rather than me always having to contact him. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced lawyer. He is a VERY honest lawyer and actually cares about his clients and believes in them. He goes to the limit under the law as to what he can do or not for you. He DOES NOT waste you time when he might already know you do not have a strong case. He knows exactly how to wait out the people you are suing and just when to act and when to hold back in negotiations. He always has time to listen.

I brought a case to the attention of Attorney Dana Reece because I heard great things about her. Grant it I'm sure she did do a lot of great things and come off as a great person, but in my case she was not honest. I submitted paperwork and everything she needed including money to get my husband case up and running July 2015. She was not honest or communicated throughout the process. Come to find out his case was denied August 2015 without Attorney Reece ever explaining it to me, but instead she continued to lie about checking on the case up to December 2015. End result she never called me back and explained why I didn't hear back from her, but she did take a total of 1500.00. It's not about the money, but about being honest with your clients no matter what the outcome is.

I sought Dana because of the "Christian" approach/beliefs she advertised on her website. Dana spent an hour with me in person regarding my legal issue which resulted in me writing her a check to secure her services. She also spent an hour on the phone with me counseling me about my husband's behavior and stressed that I not let him move back in. I think she has good intentions but lack of organizational skills and follow-through. The upfront fee of $5000 for me to pursue an annulment seemed reasonable based on other lawyers' fees; however, she filed in the wrong county. My attempts to communicate with her via phone and email were met with sporadic responses. She ultimately told me getting an annulment was unlikely. Consequently, I did not pursue getting the paperwork filed in the correct county, and I chose not to ask for any of the $5,000 back. Another lesson learned for me... what you see is not necessarily what you get. Advertising is just that... advertising. Please take the time to find all the reviews you can on an attorney before securing services. Buyer beware. Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

I hired her in 2012 for a very simple divorce which she turned into TWO unnecessary court appearances which could've been handled in ONE! After calling day & night week after week I learned her hours start at noon & she works 1 or 2 days per week. She has her assistant tell you she is out of the office or in court but you should just try calling from a different phone number & pretend to be a new client, then you get put thru to her & can catch her in her lie. She downplayed my Domestic Dispute & lied about divorce decree. She caused me LOSE BACK CHILD SUPPORT payments b/c she DID NOT file paperwork until nearly 6 months after the Temp Hearing.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
