Please let me start tby thanking Stephen Coxen for the excellent job he did on my case. My case was 19 month long, My ex-wife and attorney seems to had the upper hand throughout the process. When, I spoke with Stephen he would tell me what the law stated and what he was going to do to combat theirclaims. I lost hope time and time again because I felt he was not doing enough to get me back in my home or to resolve this case as quick as possible. I was truly wrong with my thought process, once Stephen got into court the case was laid out to where even I was able to follow what was going on. In fact, he countered anything that they present with exabits of past cases and what the law actual stated. After watching Stephen in the court room, I knew there was no way this case was not going to go my way. I am able to move back into my home in thirty days, (which I have been out of for six months), she was given a minimum dollar amount and a car which I bought as a gift for her anyway. Stephen is laid back but a bulldog in the court room. He is great at what he does which is allow the facts to work for his clients. He has earned my business for a lifetime. I can honestly say I will be recommending Doepke Lawfirm to everyone from now on! After fighting a long 4 year custody battle with little to no representation, I thought the battle was over. A few months later, I was surprised to be hit with an emergency hearing in an attempt to take away the custody I had JUST been awarded 2 months prior. Because it was an emergency hearing, I had only a month to find representation before said hearing.
While searching for last minute representation, I was sent in the direction of The Doepke Lawfirm. I had a free consultation with Stephanie Tomys and she gladly accepted me as a client without any hesitation. She was able to prove that the “emergency hearing” was not only unwarranted but fabricated as well. In less than a year, Stephanie worked what I can only explain as “legal magic.” I went from having my son 22% of the time, then being sued in an attempt to lose all custody, to now having primary guardianship and nearly full custody. I am absolutely grateful to have had Teri Doepke as my attorney. Her expertise was top notch! She is very personable and was honest about the process of my case from start to finish. Also, the price for her services was very reasonable. She was knowledgeable about what I was facing, which could have been 2 years in prison. However, the steps she advised me to take were overly effective. So effective that my possible 2-year sentence was knocked down to 30 days. She has been a lifesaver and also helped saved my marriage. Instead of telling me all about his firm he asked some tough questions that I should have previously considered myself and then he listened. I think that's the quality of his I most appreciated - no matter how silly or small my questions were he always listened. After agreeing to take my case he very specifically laid out his fee structure and explained the entire process in detail. There were never any surprises and he was able to complete a very satisfactory agreement for me without ever having to go to trial. His staff were also very polite and helpful the whole time. Hiring Mr. Coxen to represent me is one of the smartest things I've done.

Unfortunate that I have to share my experience, but I feel like others should be warned. I hired Attorney Ozburn to handle the settlement of an estate. I paid a retainer up front, and he then proceeded to reschedule calls last minute, eventually becoming unreachable entirely. What should have been a straight forward process to obtain letters of administration, turned into months of increasing unprofessionalism. I eventually had to hire a different attorney, who found out immediately that all the probate court needed was a birth certificate. I filed a complaint with the state bar, to which Attorney Ozburn responded saying he would refund my retainer entirely (presumably in order to maintain good standing with the bar). It has been over two months and I still have not heard from him. Very disappointing.

First i am thankful the good lord has blessed me with patience. In the 3 years that I have attempted to work with Mr. Strauss I have been able to speak with him twice. Once, when i seen him at the court house and the second time when i reported him to the state bar for lack of communication(He called me the next day). I emailed and called to many times to keep count. 5/1/2024 I received a email that stated notice of intent to withdraw. Mr. Strauss had been paid for his services and my case had a default judgement. I have no idea why he is withdrawing, and the problem is, is he does not communicate at all. It is a frustrating process to deal with the legal system as it is. As a Army veteran I am highly disappointed at the services rendered. Beware should you choose to use his services. I thought that my case would be easy. I hired Me Straus to handle my divorce. There was no action in my case until I called several times and made an appointment to see him. I just had to ask him do you want my case or not because nothing was done. Very bad at communication. I called several times for months and asked for a final bill which was never produced. I hired Ninfo for an adoption case. The consultation was okay, nothing special and left with questions. We scheduled a date to have the parentals sign the papers, the office called and had to reschedule. We did so and when that date came, they canceled once again. I never once met Mario! I ended up giving up and hiring a new lawyer. I now see that was a great choice based off the reviews!

So I was referred to this lawyer by my company’s legal benefits plan to handle two cases that I have ongoing. For one of the cases (lets call it case A), only the initial consultation was covered under the legal plan, and for the other case (lets call it Case B), the legal plan (I was told) covered the whole thing. So I had the free consultation with the lawyer concerning case A, and paid him $1500 up front to handle that particular case, and signed a contract for that case and that case only. That was the first, and last time I ever spoke to him. Shortly thereafter, I was made aware of case B, which (I was told by Mario’s associates) was a completely separate case, that it could not be incorporated into the first (even though the people involved were similar), and that I would have to find a way to pay for it separately. So after some research on the Hyatt legal site, it appeared that Case B was actually covered by my benefits, so I generated a case number and provided it to Mario’s associates, who then informed me that the case could be covered under hyatt legal and to send them the documentation that I had on the case. Then, for the next 4 weeks, I only got one call from the associates, who had called to tell me of a rescheduled court date they never informed me had been scheduled. I ended up hiring a new attorney and asking for a summary of work performed against my retainer, and he rolls both cases into the case where I paid the retainer, and made rediculously high withdrawls for non-legal items (charged $290 to read emails!?!?!?), but he also charged me for items AFTER he had been terminated. This man is a monster, the worst kind of human being. I can only pray that they will bar him from ever practicing law again.

This review comes 4 years later but the disappointment still remains after all these years. I truly believe that Sharon Barksdale is an attorney that preys on people that need her services. She is all about getting her money and not fulfilling her obligations. I was going through a terrible divorce, Sharon cared all in the consultation meeting about my well-being but once she received her retainer’s fee, it was like she could care less. It took her forever to file my documents, when you called her there was never an answer. When you did get in contact you were made to feel like she was doing you a favor and that your being somewhat of a bother. Sharon makes false promises and mysteriously NEVER remembers what she tells you. I hired her and it almost made me feel like she was working for the other side. One day she forgot we had court one morning, I had to call her and ask her where was she I was waiting in the courthouse for her. She forgot! She screwed up my final child support paperwork. Also, deep down I think she prolonged my case just to try and squeeze more money out of me and what’s so sad is that she was recommended by another attorney. Go figure! It’s about time this woman retires….Please if you’re seeking legal counsel go elsewhere! Run!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hired her for a divorce. I have been abused in just about every way by my husband and at the time I retained her services I had an infant (4 months) and an almost 2 yr old. I needed to get out fast but had no money because I was a stay at home Mom. I borrowed money from my Grandmother and gave her all I could. Four months later Mrs. Barksdale still had not filed the divorce, even though she promised me it would be two weeks after I retained her. Almost every time I called her, she did not answer. She never returned voicemails. I left too many to count. At the 4 month mark my husband finally had me served and she said she would prepare a response and sent it. My husband then dropped the divorce, but I wanted her to file because I want out! Finally after 4 more months passed, I got her on the phone by asking for my money back because I found another attorney. She would only refund the filing fee and serving fee (obviously she did not do either) and said the rest was used working the case! She also said that if I wanted her to file still, I needed to give her more money! So here I am, miserable a whole year later because I trusted the wrong person. I cannot borrow any money from my Grandma because she recently passed away. Every time I asked her why it had not been filed or at least something started, she told me her computer was in the shop several times, she lost data (I thought professionals know to backup their work?), and she was busy with other things that were all happening at once! I wish I had never met her! If it were not for get, I could have used that money for someone who could have helped me and maybe I would be ok now instead of still living in hell!

My Son Timothy Eze! Girlfriend Christa Kate Henry Got On Meth And Attacked My Son And He Most likely Just Put His Arms Up While She Was Attacking Him And Hit The Side Of Her Face.
