I hired Mr.Ringstrom, Sr. to handle a legal matter involving my husband and a legal issue. Mr. Ringstrom was amazing! His professional knowledge of the Department of Corrections and his willingness to think outside the box resulted in a successful resolution of my husband’s criminal issue. We were also able to resolve the issue over the phone without my husband needing to travel to Minnesota. Time was of an essence for my husband’s situation and Mr.Ringstrom was extremely responsive and kept me informed during the entire process. I highly recommend you speak to Mr. Ringstrom before hiring anyone else. His experience and legal knowledge was well worth the expense.

Bruce Ringstrom Sr. is outstanding. He was hired to help my partner through a difficult situation, and he went above and beyond to provide unparalleled service. Bruce communicated with us effectively through every step, and helped us resolve issues swiftly. Bruce also treated us with great care and respect, accepting calls even on weekends, and assisting us with the unexpected loss of one of our family members. To say that I am pleased with the service and outcome would be an understatement. Bruce is knowledgable and passionate about his work, and it definitely shows.

Two years ago, a friend and I were hit by a pickup truck crossing the street with stop lights. The guy who hit us was trying to avoid a red light and didn't see us. Because there were no witnesses or videos set up at the intersection, we didn't proceed as we didn't think we had a case. I just received from the insurance company of the gentleman who his us offering us a settlement. Jeff made phone calls and did the paperwork to help me get the settlement! Jeff is a great guy, wonderful, very professional and worked very hard for me! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a terrific lawyer! Thank you, Jeff!!

Mr. Ramstad quite often uses others' work product, and also cites outdated and obsolete case law. He represents many small rural municipalities, but he also represents the larger municipality in the area of Detroit Lakes. He often interjects biased opinions that represent a cleqr conflict of interest when the smaller municipalities are competing for state capital investment funding and private grants. He does not note his conflict of interest for the record. When it comes to submitting compliance reports to the full extent to state and federal regulatory agnecies he often recommends leaving out any vital details that would highlight a need for improvement or mistakes that could be of potential harm to the public, when the law requires otherwise and it would be better for the municipality to correct and learn from mistakes, as it would build a greater trust with the public it serves.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
