Recently, I had the pleasure of hiring Atty. John DiBartolo, Jr. to represent me in a car accident in which I suffered injuries. Atty. DiBartolo not only represented me successfully against the insurance company, he did so with unquestionable professionalism. During this process, it was very apparent that he garners much respect within the insurance industry as a claimant’s attorney. John’s representation of my case was kind and compassionate and his goal was to make me whole for my injuries. Not many personal injury attorneys can boast the well-earned, outstanding reputation that Atty. DiBartolo carries. John and his staff are friendly and effective as they keep you updated on their progress and make you feel that yours is their most important case. From my experience, I highly recommend making him your first call if you have the need for representation. I am sincerely pleased that I did. You, too, will be truly glad to have them on your side!

I worked with Attorney DiBartolo and his Paralegal, Ann, to handle my case after being hit by a car. Needless to say, the accident was very traumatic. Attorney DiBartolo and Ann handled my case with incredible compassion and attention to every detail. Their care and competence allowed me to focus on my medical treatment and healing with complete trust that they were handling the legal side of things. I highly recommend Attorney DiBartolo for any legal matter. They handled my case so well, with the absolute best possible outcome, and gave me peace of mind and trust throughout the process.

I was very hesitant to seek out an attorney after being in a car accident as I was just too busy dealing with medical appointments and taking care of my young family. I am very happy I chose Attorney DiBartolo as he made the process pain free and very flexible. We were able to communicate thru text and email for our busy schedules as well as Zoom once the pandemic hit. His is a very compassionate lawyer that handled my case with trust, dignity and perseverance. I would highly recommend Attorney DiBartolo if the need ever comes up in the future.

We've been working with Kevin over the past 5 months on estate planning. We have found Kevin and his services to be excellent. He can take a very complicated area and explain in a way that is very understandable. He's very thorough and organized, which is evidenced by the efficient process and documentation and agreements he puts together. He's very responsive and accommodating as it relates to meetings and inquiries. He also gives us comfort that he will be there in the future and will work with us along the way to ensure the plan we have put together is effective and up to date. Jessica Berrien is a game changer. She handled my divorce with savvy and care all the way through. I was amazed that during such a hard and painful time, her clarity made me feel grounded at each turn. She was efficient, fair, articulate, and a rare advocate for women, in particular, who are used to being treated as less-than or hysterical. Also, she got the job done.

I had met miss Wilson as she was my first ever court appointed lawyer. She went above and beyond for me in that case. When a year went buy and i had caught two more cases both serious charges. I was sitting in county jail bc i had no bail on one charge my court appointed lawyer came to visit me and told me the only way he could get me out of jail on my court date was to plead guilty to the charge and get time served. Or i could take it to trial and get found not guilty but i would half to sit in jail until my trial date months down the road. I was upset because i new i wasn't guilty but i didn't want to sit in jail for months for a trial. I hired Shana and she came to visit me and we went over my case. she was honest and up front not promising me anything. a month went buy and my court date was here where i would find out a trial date. I was sitting in the holding cell when i herd my name called in the court room. I stood up waiting for a guard to escort me into the court room. standing next to the guard was Shana down in the holding tank. She notified me that she got the whole case dismissed/ thrown out that i dont even need to go in front of the judge I was being released from custody right then and there. I was in shock I new i was not guilty but wasnt expecting to be released that day let alone not half to go in front of the judge at all. Now im free and my court date for my other charges in another county was about to come up two days before that court date I get a call from Shana telling me I do not need to show up to court she got the charges dropped and case dismissed. She went above and beyond for me as she does all her clients I Will trust my freedom in her hands any day of the week

If you’re like me you’re old enough to know you need estate planning and young enough to feel like there’s plenty of time. So we’ll get to it, eventually. Then life happened, which put things acutely into perspective for me. I was hit by a drunk driver. The accident was awful and I’m lucky to be alive. One of the tragedies that could’ve come from that accident is my family would’ve been left without the right things in place to ensure they were taking care of. I was pushing the estate planning off which could have cost my family dearly. I can’t bear the thought. Fortunately, that wake up call pushed me into action and led me to Kimberly Pisinski. If your estate planning is not in order take the time to speak with her. It could be one of the best decisions you ever make. I’m clear it was for me and my family. Prior to finding Kim I did what most of us do. I went down the rabbit hole of Google, Reddit, and YouTube trying to figure it out. I was also asking friends, family, and work colleagues. Lots of information out there. Lots of options. Lots and lots of opinions. I was doing my due diligence and needed to get this right. It’s tricky though. As much of an expert I wanted to be I was going to have to rely on someone. The family consensus was clear. We needed to get our affairs in order. We needed a trust, a will, and a real plan. But who to go to? Who would do a great job? Who could we trust to do it right? And how would I even know the difference? These questions had my head spinning, and felt overwhelming. As bad as my luck was getting hit by the drunk driver is as good as my luck was stumbling upon Kim and her team. My goodness, from the first moment we spoke she made us feel at ease with the process and explained things in a way where everything just made sense. She took her time with us and it was aparent that she had our best interest in hand. She asked thoughtful questions and gave thoughtful answers to ours. I can’t imagine working with anyone else. I feel a great responsibility to provide for my family while I’m here and after when I’m not. Thank you, Kim for making sure that no matter what I’ll be able to do exactly that. Forever grateful, M&M

After being rear ended by a hit and run driver I knew I needed someone who not only knew the law but an attorney who was compassionate and understanding. I first spoke with Ann, who has tremendous patience btw, as I am the type of person who needs good communication and she understood that. Ann answered all my basic questions and quickly set me up to speak with Attorney DiBartolo. My case was a slow progressing one, as well as frustrating due to the lack of medical treatment quality. (Unfortunately, I have yet to find a physician that works as attentively as John does in law.) At times when I felt like my case was going nowhere, I checked for an update and quickly realized all the work being handled behind the scenes. Attorney DiBartolo was spot on with what he thought my case was worth and any issues we may face. A word of advice is to be honest in your expectations when choosing representation as well as ask how your case would be handled, and let your attorney do his job. John, I am so happy I chose you to represent me and I will continue to recommend your services to anyone in need of a personal injury attorney in your area. Thank you for all your hard work and staying true to your word!

After being injured in a car accident to the point where surgery was required, I decided to look for and consult with a personal injury lawyer. With that being said, I knew that I didn’t want to go with someone with flashy TV commercials or nothing but dollar signs all over their website. After doing some research with these things in mind, I found attorney John DiBartolo. From the moment I first spoke to John all the way to the time my case was settled, he always made me feel as if I was his only client and the most important case he’s ever taken on. He always did a terrific job with keeping me informed, explaining things to me, and putting together what I believe was the best case and representation possible. I’m very appreciative, thankful, and grateful for John and the settlement he was able to obtain for me. Without any reservations I would recommend him to everyone. Thank you very much John.

In early October, I was charged with an OUI (my first interaction with criminal justice) Considering my profession, firearms licenses, and prospective business opportunities, an unfavorable disposition of the case, would have been VERY problematic. Atty Chamberland thoroughly reviewed the case with me, offered a pragmatic, and sensible approach (suggested trial by jury) Thankfully at the "Motion for Trial Readiness" He was able to get the OUI charge dismissed outright, and I was found "not responsible" for speeding.... This saved me THOUSANDS of dollars, a potential conviction on my record, and TONS of stress. Should you find yourself in similar circumstances, I would STRONGLY suggest consulting with Atty. Chamberland!

I had Anne do a few real estate transactions for me and she did fine. My complaint is we sat with her to put a Will together for us. She took notes and all our information and then she disappeared. Our calls were not returned when we tried to find out what was going on and what the hold up was . The will was never done. It was bazaar.

We are SO happy that we found Ann for our real estate transaction. So many of these relationships are a chance affair but we got lucky. Mr.habhab is a mediocre lawyer.the that I wouldn't recommend to represent a cat (he's that dumb).he only cares about money and how long he can drag out a case.I tried to use him in a simple matter and he flubbed that up and then told me I was up a creek without a paddle so to speak.in fixed the case with a phone call and one appearance in court, thank God I didn't take this lame lawyers advice.

Habhab was to represent my son in a domestic case. Instead he represented both my son and sister-in-law. talked with Sister-in-law but not my son. My son paid him for nothing and it has been over six months and still has not received a receipt for the charges. My son ended up going back to court for the same charges. He went without a lawyer representing him and did better than if Habhab was there. The case was thrown out. Habhab can't remember the facts or the names of the people involved even during the same conversation. His notes has no rhyme or reason on paper. He is a spineless little man. Big mistake - he was recommended by his sister who also is an attorney in a different district.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
