We met with Mr. Brummitt about writing a Will, Advanced Directive for Health Care and Durable Power of Attorney for Finances. He did an excellent job of explaining the law and wrote all 3 documents for each of us. I would HIGHLY recommend him for this type of legal work. We were very pleased with his fee and he spent a lot of time with us.

I needed a Will and after many recommendations, I made an appointment. He was very down to earth. He also is much, much more affordable than most attorney's. He enjoys making needed documentation, like Wills, Power of Attorney's, Trusts, or general estate planning very easy to understand and affordable. He spent a lot of time with me to make sure everything was covered. I appreciate that. I'm a simple woman who just wants to make sure my kids are taken care of if I pass unexpectedly. I first began using Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates services in 2003 for my clients real estate closings. Because of his professionalism, work ethic and honesty, I have continued to use Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates not only for my real estate clients, but also for my personal services in both my uncontested divorce and most recently to settle my mother's estate.
I will say that when Keith Bowers took on the county attorney position in Carter County I was worried his level of attention would drop of to my real estate clients, however I have actually found that with his well trained staff my work now seems to get done not only quicker than before, but more accurately than any other firms I work with. So don't be scared off thinking that Keith's firm cannot handle your small needs as well.
I will comment that I have referred several people to Keith Bowers Jr. & Associates in the past. Not only for real estate work, but for probate and estates, wills and divorces and have never had a single complaint come back to me from my "friends" I have sent there.

I was referred to Dwayne by another attorney. I was trying to keep my car from being repossessed after we had large unexpected expenses, and I thought I needed to file bankruptcy. He said I didn't need to file. After he made some phone calls over a few days and managed to make arrangements with my lender, he charged me a lot less than what a bankruptcy was going to cost.

I filed contempt and paid my lawyer on 5/19/23. He is the same lawyer who filed my divorce.
It took forever but we finally got mediation scheduled on 4/17/24. I texted him the night before to make sure everything was good to go and he had his assistant email me to tell me it had been canceled because he had been in a car accident and hasn’t been cleared to come back to work and they had already told my ex and his lawyer it was canceled. So I was like ok I hope he feels better soon.
I messaged her on 4/23 to see if they had an estimate on when he was coming back and she replied on 4/26 saying she didn’t know.
I messaged her again on 5/17 requesting an update and she still said he has not been cleared to come back to work on 5/23.
I messaged her again on 6/5 requesting an update or my mo ey back so I can hire a new lawyer and she informs me on 6/15 he is actually in a mental health institution with very limited access to his phone but he should be getting out in a couple weeks and she would speak to him on.
I messaged her again on 8/6 with no reply yet.
I texted him on 8/7 with no reply.
I called his business on 8/13 and it said it was temporarily unavailable. I called his cell and it went straight to voicemail. I went to his office and it was closed.
I messaged the BAR association and he replied confirming everything. I asked for my money back and he says he was working hourly and that I had exhausted all of my funds. When I met him it was 2500.00 for the mediation along with filing fees and mediation fees. If we had to go to court it was going to be at an hourly rate.
If anyone else is going through something like this with him please message me.

BEWARE! Ms. Buck was very kind during our initial consult and rushed us to begin the paperwork. We paid a $1500 retainer and made special arrangements to sign paperwork. Once the fee was paid the kindness stopped! I called 5 days later and many times after only to be met with Nancy (Misty Bucks assistant) being rude and raising her voice to me because I asked why paperwork had not been filed with the court.
I gave them another chance after I was assured the paperwork would be filed only to find 5 days later that the paperwork was still in their office and not filed with the court. I found my way to their office to get my retainer back and find a reason for the failure only to receive more unprofessional behavior from Nancy who guarded her conversation with Ms.Buck & finally received a pathetic apology from only Nancy while Ms. Buck sat in her office only a few steps away.
In my short time there I witnessed Nancy discuss clients and make openly rude comments about them as well. I should have taken this behavior as a sign but thought she was having a bad day only to hear her do the same thing again today.
Contacted another attorney after my experience only to find out this is common occurrence within Ms. Bucks office.

She took my money and avoided me. She did not communicate. She was extremely unprofessional. She signed court documents without notifying me first. She called on her way to mediation the morning of the mediation I knew nothing about. She is awful and unprofessional. She lost mediated agreement and i showed up to her office twice to sign it. Months later the mediated agreement still was not filed with the court.

Mrs. Johnson does her job well. She basis your case on proof and facts. She does everything she can to defend her client even if you don't realize it. Mr. LaPorte was hired to protect two minor children in state custody. Mr. LaPorte failed to check on the minor children, investigate alligations that put the children's lives in danger. He did not have the children's best interest at hand. His services were mediocre at best.

The case started in 2019, for a parenting plan adjustment. Paid upfront and told him the ex would drag everything out. He constantly over promised and under delivered. He may have been a decent attorney however, he kept adding to his plate with part time teacher, volleyball coach, youth leader, and judge. I would call without getting a reply for weeks or months. The only way I stayed up to date was tracking the motions online. After the case was resolved I never heard from him again so when the parenting plan was submitted by the other party it was never reviewed. I will have to go through the whole process once again.

Mr. Lenihan was hired to represent me in two legal matters. He was repeatedly unresponsive to texts, emails and phone calls regarding questions about my cases. When I did receive answers, they were vague at best. Then here is the kicker and the best part, 7 days before my court date he decides to remove himself as my counsel by sending a letter to my office, which I don’t go to every day, not my home! Leaving me to scramble to find a new attorney before my court date in 7 days! I would NOT recommend him. You should have an attorney who is responsive and reliable.

I hired Lonon for a child custody issue. This was possibly the worst mistake I've ever made, bar NONE. Look, I've been in a small business for over 27 years, I've used attorneys before, I went through a fairly messy divorce 8 years ago, so I've used attorneys.
This man is the worst. He wouldn't return calls. An example is my "X" was not abiding by a mediated settlement. I really needed to speak with him about things my "X" was doing with my son present. Not one time would this man take the time to do the professional, responsible, courteous way that you would think YOUR attorney would do. Not ONCE!!!!!
So, I called this man 3 times and not one time did he have the courtesy to return a call, not ONCE. Finally I got a call from his paralegal, I guess, Judy. "oh, I see I've had a message that you tried to call me Mr. Kyte?". I was like uh wtf, I've not called you one time Judy. This is how this man operates. Took my $2000.00 refuses to provide me with a statement of services!!! Hey, we even provide this in an A/C service business, but apparently all rules of proper, courteous business practices have and are suspended with Mr. Lonon and his practice!!!!
I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone STAY AWAY from this man. He is a Charlatan of the highest order, he is unethical to say the least!!! IMO, he is as close to a legal crook as one can, could possibly get!!! Yeah, he is this bad in my honest opinion. He has no responsibility towards his client, he has no respect for his client at all.
He and I would assume many others like him, well they kind of forget who, how they have gotten to the place in life that they're in!!! It is from CLIENTS!!!!!!!
Do they teach this stuff in Law School??? Do they teach this kind and type of approach. Yes, I'm filing a complaint in my state with the board of "Ethics & Professional Responsibility". May do no good, as it is other attorneys looking into other attorneys in how they act and behave. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black, uh???? But, at least I've done something to stand up against this kind and type of unethical and unwarranted behavior from a person one hires to have their best interest at heart. Which in my case, this man clearly didn't have!!!!

In representing my interests he failed to meet his obligations in a simple inheritence case where the will clearly stated how the money was to be distributed.
He involved another attorney who was just a waste of time and wated of my money.
This was supposed to be an open and shut case taking less than 6 months where it took 3 years to be settled.
He told me, "Just let it go. You still got plenty out of this," as an
excuse for his incompetence. All the times the executor demanded money from my part of the inheritence to do ridiculous things to the property he inherited this lawyer folded and continued to cut into the hundreds of thousands of dollars that was legally mine.
He is a total failure in representing his clients and is more interested
in his croney's than in the client.
