I have hired Mike for various litigation as well as transactional matters at various times over the past 15 years, and am working with him on two matters currently, one litigation and one transactional. Mike is very knowledgeable, hard working and effective. I have had a positive outcome from each case I have engaged him in---don't how many people can say that. But it isn't Mike's skill and knowledge that most distinguishes him from other highly capable attorneys. That would be his honesty, integrity and ethics. I have found no attorney I have worked with that is his equal in these areas. Qualities that can sometimes be in scarce supply when navigating the world of retaining an attorney.

Mike is a very competent professional lawyer, but that’s not why I use him.
Mike is very respectful of his clients’ time and money, but that’s not why I use him.
Mike doesn’t spend a lot of time circling the issue – he gets right to the meat of it and communicates with me in a way I can understand. But that’s not why I use him.
I go to Mike with my legal questions and problems because he’s ethical. Apparently, his principles and reputation are more important to him than maximizing his income. In a transaction or in devising a litigation strategy, there’s really no way for the layman to know beforehand if the job is being done right or not. It’s a question of trust.
I use Mike because I trust him.

Contacted three highly regarded local attorneys for guidance around settling an estate with out-of-state assets and residency. One office didn't return my call. The second office cancelled our initial consult on learning of out-of-state assets.
Merv personally contacted me back for details of the estate situation. He followed through with a thoughtful and professional (free) consult despite clear evidence I'd instead need to use an out-of-state attorney. He patiently answered numerous questions, put me at ease, and provided counsel that aided me immensely.
When it is time to review or revise my own estate planning Merv will be the first person I call.

Mr Miller was so accommodating assisting me previously, I was confident he would be equally helpful . We discussed the pros and cons in layman’s terms. All my concerns were addressed to my satisfaction. His staff was genuinely helpful in all aspects, as well.This was all done following Corvid guidelines and his concern for safety. All Documents were signed digitally, and Notary physically visited my home to finalize. The new Trust documents were delivered FedEx to my home in a professional and organized binder. My father, now deceased for close to a quarter of a century, was meticulous. He spent months looking for an estate lawyer he could trust. He settled on Merwyn a year or so before his passing. He did not have a large estate but he was particular about how he wanted it passed on especially how he wanted it set up for my mother who survived him by more than a decade. Merwyn was successful.
It was only natural that my wife and I used Merwyn to establish our trust a decade or so ago. And just this year we had our family trust reviewed and updated to ensure our estate would pass to our direct descendants with as little as possible ending up in federal or state coffers. Neither my wife or I will be around to see how we succeeded, but I have faith, based on my experience with my parents estate, that we will meet our goals with Merwyn’s help.

I Needed an Attorney to Represent me regarding a Personal Injury Case where the Rental Car I Rented, Despite having the Car Rental Insurance, wasn't covered by the Rental Car Company Hertz.
I Have an Excellent Track Record of Driving, both in my Personal Car or Rental Car and have never met with an accident due to my negligence or bad driving.
The Car I Rented, Toyota Corolla White Color from Hertz Car Rental Company at San Diego Airport, was being driven by me on a ramping while Exiting a Highway. The Car's Brakes Malfunctioned and the Car wasn't Stopping Despite Me Breaking the Car and I had to Force Pullover on the Curb while on the Ramp and Turn Off the Engine. The Car Before Me was a BMW Car which got hit and had a minor bump, the driver got down and I explained to him what happened. He said His Car Would Be Covered By His Car Insurance, but still took my details. My Rental Car was Completely Smashed in the Front.
I Immediately Went to the Rental Car Company upon reaching home, took My Neighbor Rhonda along and Handed Over the Car to the the Rental Car Company. They gave me a New Rental Car. However I faced a lot of Health Impact of Severe Concussions Etc. due to the Car Collision and as acknowledged by the Rental Car Company Front Desk, it wasn't my fault and the Car Brakes Failed to Function.
I was having damages greater than what was reasonable after a car collision and Demanded Hertz Rental Car Insurance To Pay The Damages. They Didn't Even Facilitate the Car Inspection as any Car Mechanic I Contacted Refused to Touch It. They asked me to contact an Attorney and Hence I contacted the Attorneys. Jeffery Padilla Was Contacted By Me and He Refused to Listen and Said He Cannot Take Up The Case, Though My Case Had All The Merit.
I Consulted Jeffery Padilla, He Didn't Have Any Conflict of Interest to Take Up The Case and An Attorney Was Needed to Take Down a Car Rental Company's Refusal To Pay The Damages Accrued And Make Them Pay.
Refusing a Meritorious Case Made Me Give Him and His Attention Span a Very Poor Rating and I had an Horrible Experience Due to Lack of Concern from Him To Listen To A Legitimate Case. I Didn't Contact any Other Lawyer In His Office as I Know the Office Politics, They Save Their Office First and Never Care About the Client/Potential Clients Interests. The Matter is From November-December 2016. I am re-posting the Review as the First Time Around the Review Wasn't Approved saying it didn't meet community guidelines. I had specifically mentioned I consulted the attorney and not hired him as its a compulsory field. However due to a website glitch I received a notification that the review wasn't approved hence I am specifically re-writing all the details and Re-Posting to Publicly Display The Review, So The Future Customers Know the Anguish I Faced and also so Its Recorded As My Testimony of the Action Taken.

Myself and my wife had to do a family trust for some reason unexplainably we don't know why he tends to have trouble with his housekeepers the office was very clean when we went in the next time wonderful he will listen and charges a fortune but it is way worth it!!! We had to remove our daughter from the family trust due to her drug addiction. It's worth the price hint hint... They have a wonderful Christmas tree that is in the office every year and their staff is so courteous the lady at the desk that answers the phone is such a sweetheart my wife teases me all the time about it everything from attorneys to staff and to housekeeping is trustworthy... We never have been so happy in all our lives

Richard helped me through the probate situation of a friend who had Died and had Real property, and 2 cars and many personal items . And Finances that had to be divided to 6 different banks so the money would not be uninsured. He guided me through the process and in 1-1/2 years it was over.
In probate the courts are slow. He helped with auctioning off the property, removing one car and transferring the other to a Museum in Sacramento. He got the will distributions done and those that were in the will, not including myself, were given their due. I was very satisfied, as was decedents family.

Four years ago, I got seriously ill after a routine blood draw and had an infection on my arm. I was hosiptalized for 3 weeks and took a long time to recover. i first learned about this firm was by chance and through word of mouth in 2017 when my son was struck by a drunk driver. My son at the time was a Freshman in high school.
When i called to schedule an appointment to talk to the attorney, Gabrielle Nield, I spoke to her office staff and explained our situation. However, it is critical for me to make known that we as a family were devastated by my son’s accident and not knowing our rights and fear of all the unknowns like the medical bills and outcome of our son. The office staff, Diana Burkhardt was patient, kind and compassionate. After hearing me out she scheduled an appointment work the attorney, Gabrielle Nield and her business partner (husband). That experience was also met with so much compassion but also no nonsense in the sense that she told us immediately what she could and could not do. The end result was extremely well worked and Gabrielle Nield went above and beyond with having the insurance pay all the bills and get my son a generous monetary compensation.
Recently, January 2023, my son who i didn’t mention earlier is autistic. My son received a call from a scammer impersonating himself as a financial consultant who reached out to my son and attempting to scam him out of $55k. Gabrielle Nield received this information since some legal documents needed to be sent to her office. Gabrielle Nield immediately saw red flags and tho our case has been closed for over 6 years, Gabrielle found me and notified me of the scam. Gabrielle again went above and beyond to put a stop to this and did not charge us any amount even though I insisted to pay for her time and service she didn’t accept the money. Gabrielle Nield and her legal firm are angels 😇!!! Absolutely God sent to so justice for those who can’t legally represent themselves.
