I brought Paynter Law an unusual case. The only thing that was clear was that I had been seriously injured, and that the injury had cost our family considerable pain, suffering, time and money.

I contacted Mr McClure about a speeding ticket. I was unsure what he could do for me as I was going 17 miles over the limit. Ethan was an excellent help in the tail end of our immigration case.
We had been having a very unsatisfactory experience with a previous lawyer for over 2 years, and with just a few short consultations (one related to paperwork clarification, another related to the immigration interview), we were able to complete the process quickly and with confidence, and just one month later, my wife's residency Visa was approved!

5 Stars are not enough for Kim Steffan for the Process of Events as they evolved…and it was a long time before I realized the depth of her Integrity…and that old fashion word…Honor
Client Protection: The Will
My Life Partner took almost a Year before he was Satisfied with his Will. Ms Steffan was patient with every change. When it was time to Sign the Will, as my Partner was by then Bed Bound, Ms Steffan arrived with her Staff for the Signing. I was sent almost to Siberia because it was mid January and it had Snowed just that week, but I was required to leave for Ms Steffan will not allow anyone other than her Client to be around to assure her Client has no Interference. It took about 45 minutes for the final signing.
Probate: ‘The Estate’
I happened to be both the Executor and a Beneficiary. Having been an Executor before in a more simple State, It was hard for me accept some principles Ms Steffan had to give me for processing a NC Probate. Ms Steffan had to drag me ‘kicking & screaming’ into the reality of “The Estate is my Client”, along with more of the complexities of NC Law. I didn’t want to accept that I was not the ‘Client’ but the ‘Estate’.
Will Contest: Bygone Era Honor & Integrity
As can happen sometimes along comes a Will Contest and this is when it became known to me the substance of Kim Steffan…her Integrity & Honor and her Loyalty to her Client even after he was gone. In bygone days, a Lawyer knew your Family History, the Generations and kept it’s Secrets. When a Will Contest showed up it was then things came out that I had never knew. Even as Executor and a Beneficiary, Ms Steffan never revealed her Private Conversations with her Client. She kept her Client’s Confidentiality even after he was gone. And this was the Revelation of Ms Steffan’s Integrity…She knew her Client’s Wishes & Desires and kept them with Honor.

Daron Satterfield loves his job. I wouldn’t have it for love or money, but here is a man who truly loves his work. Here is my story.
I sold some land in 2018 in Durham County. The real estate agents Alex Rivers and David Balon did, by way of deception, caused me to sign an agreement with them while under contract to another agency. They told me that their lawyer, Josh Whitaker, said that I did not receive “adequate compensation”. As a result of this advice, I told the first party that I had not received adequate compensation and signed with Alex Rivers and David Balon of ReMax. Within six days or less, a lis pendens or “suit pending” was filed against the land. That action froze my land and put me into a state of severe depression.
I hired Kenneth Haywood, a lawyer from the agency of Howard Stallings From Atkins Angell and Davis in Raleigh. I paid him $7500. We went to mediation, all to no avail as I told Haywood. Nothing else was done except for more billing, up to nearly $13000. I refused to pay any more and he quit!~
Daron took on the job at short notice, sat up all night and found case law and president that allowed my effort to continue. We went to court and he was astounding in his remarks to the jury, and his cross examination of this swine. It took about 90 minutes for the jury to find in my favor. Daron is a man you can trust, and one who believes in service to those in need, and I can tell you from the heart that that was me.

Attorney Cyrus Griswold's behavior in the courtroom is disgusting. He represented my neighbor who's been harrassing me, but tried to turn me into the bad guy. He actually showed me a copy of my property deed, like that made any difference to the case. He's condescending and mean. He grasps at straws trying to throw you off course. He's a hateful man who's obviously acting tough to make up for his lack of skill. Stay far away. Unprofessionalism and incompetence at its finest.

Knowing it was a holiday, I didn't expect a call back right away. So I waited till the 6th and called again. Do not use Jason unless you want someone that glosses over all aspects of your custody case and just cookie-cutters his way through it. He will put you in a situation that he is not capable of handling and will view your children as paychecks. Will charge you for every breath you take and will be completely unprepared for court. Maybe this was just me, however, my experience was a complete disaster.

A lawyer at this office was able to file a document for custody on behalf of a client with the court in Durham that is back dated, notarized on that back date, and stamped by someone at the courthouse on that back date. This entire document has been falsified. This lawyer talked a court employee into backdating the document. This lawyer also had a notary sign and stamp on a back date. It is illegal for a notary to perform such a notary act. That lawyer should face reprimand, that notary should lose their certificate, and the court employee should face serious consequences. This lawyer thinks she can modify the law as a favor to a friend. What she has done is discredit herself and this law firm. I will be pursuing this further. I am not a party in this case but I have seen the documents, know the facts and timeline of the events, and I can see the illegal activity. I am a notary in North Carolina and I am appalled that three entities were involved in the act of falsifying dates on this document.

Ms. Adams is extremely unprofessional and tremendously unsophisticated. I spoke with her March 7th, 2023 and immediately she began issuing several corrections she believed to be relevant and her tone indicated she was extremely angry and upset. She indicated she had an extremely busy schedule and she took time out of her precious day to call me. I thanked the Lord she took a moment from her precious schedule to call lil ole me, and the exchange began shortyly thereafter. I also indicated to her she was not the only person with a tight schedule, and I also indicated to her that her tone was unacceptable if we were going to keep speaking. She raised her voice and for the sake of this review we can consider this is where things escalated, went downhill before she hung up the phone. In lieu of her disrespectful behavior I was also equally irate and informed her she needed to tone it down or things may get ugly. And things got ugly. I strongly warn anybody who has to speak to this angry individual to be aware of her poor attitude, poor communication skills, this is an extremely angry individual, and she refused to tell me who she reports to. I regret talking to this person and she is quite possibly one of the worst people I've ever talked to in my entire life. Avoid at all costs if possible.
