Since my last review, Jerry and his team continued to deliver for me. If you want personalized, expert legal advice and litigation support from an experienced attorney, then look no further than Parisi Law. You get Jerry, NOT an inexperienced associate. Jerry, Cyndi and Leah- thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for me and my family over the past few years. It’s easy, call Parisi

My stepdaughter was involved in a car wreck and got the brute force of the impact. Jerry worked diligently on her case. Jerry and his staff treated us like family and got my stepdaughter the settlement her case was worth. I would highly recommend him and his staff. He is the best in Jefferson, Georgia.

Juli and her team were fantastic to work with throughout our adoption. They answered questions and responded to emails or calls same day. They explained every step and made sure we understood the process and even gave us pointers in a folder for after adoption. The team is great, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Juli made this complicated process very easy for us. Any questions or concerns that we had were addressed in a timely manner and she always made herself available. She even brought all the necessary paperwork to us...we never had to leave our house. She was a blessing to us and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

I retained Mr. Lewellen to represent me on a disability case, and am so thankful I did. I cannot stress how professional, patient, kind, and fair he was throughout the process. I would not hesitate to use his services in the future, and wound certainly refer anyone in need of legal services to him.

After attempting to get awarded disability from Social Security for over 18 months on my own, filling out many multiple page filing documents, while dealing with the effects of cancer and the many side effects of Radiation and Chemo Therapy. Failing repeatedly, I contacted Mr. Lewellen. After approx. 5 months, Mr. Lewellen managed to get it done. I am eternally grateful.

We recently moved here from Wisconsin. I was waiting on an appeal from Wisconsin along with my Wisconsin attorney. The decision came in stating my case go back to the Administrative Judge here in Georgia. My Wisconsin lawyer decided he did not wish to proceed here with my case and dismissed himself after almost 4 years. I was shocked. What to do now? I started making phone calls for SSD Attorneys here explaining my case. Not knowing many people let alone any attorney's here, it was a hard find. I contacted attorney's via a Google search. I met with a few, but was either told they did not feel my case was winnable or I just flat out did not like them. Then I met Leonard. I spent about 2 hours in his office in our 1st meeting. He was very likable and knowledgeable. My new hearing was coming up soon and I needed a lawyer, but I was not going to settle for anyone. My future was hanging in the balance. Leonard made me feel welcome and explained to me that this was not going to be easy and we had our work cut out for both of us. His honesty and truthfulness helped with my decision. I felt comfortable and hired Leonard. Many meetings later and tons of paperwork coming in from Wisconsin, our hearing date was set. It may have been a bit overwhelming for Leonard, but he never complained. Always reminding me, this is going to be difficult Joe. I liked that about him. He always gave me a feeling that he knew more then he was letting onto. Me, I was helping with getting things ordered from Wisconsin and we both settled in for a long hearing. I was hopeful having all our paper work in order as well as all the doctors notes. With Leonard beside me, I knew we had a good case. A winnable case! Long story short, We Won That Hearing! We won that hearing on Jan 15,2015. Leonard never gave up, nor did I. To Leonard, should you read this, Thank you sir. To anyone reading this review, should you ever need an attorney who will fight for you, give this man a chance. He will not disappoint you.

This is our second Bankruptcy in our lifetime. The differences between the 2 attorneys are like night and day. We weren't kept in the loop with the first attorney nor did we get answers to our questions. Shelley has gone over and above my expectations for this bankruptcy. It has been a breathe of fresh air and I highly recommend her if you are in the market for a bankruptcy lawyer.

We were told to hire Nick by several friends who had used him in the past. We were also told that he was the best and they had given him a great recommendation. We had our consultation with Nick and felt very comfortable moving forward. Within a week or two of hiring Nick another situation arose and without Nick and his help a long amount of time would have been spent in jail. This time was reduce to a small small fraction of what it could have been. We then moved on to the trail and this is where Nick truly shined. He did his very best for us and the outcome showed. He out maneuvered the prosecution in almost every way. Nick is a very talented lawyer and we were very lucky to have him on our side. While dealing with legal issues is a very stressful time and can bring you to your wits end. Nick was very compassionate, understanding and patient. We put Nick through the ringer with some very strong disagreements and loud arguments. He never devalued our views but stuck to what he knew and how he could help. Luckily he helped us work through these obstacles and we could not be happier he did. In the end Nick was everything I think you would need in a lawyer. We have never had to hire a lawyer before this and now if we were to ever need another lawyer we would never hire anyone else!!! Nick thanks for all your hard work!!!!

Nick Primm represented me in front of OSAH (Office of State Administration Hearing) where I appealed a decision made against me by the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). Nick was professional, honest in his assessments, responsive to my questions and concerns, and charged me reasonably for his services. The outcome of my case was positive. I would not hesitate to hire Nick again if needed. I felt confident in his abilities and very satisfied with his approach.

After I consulted with multiple Attorneys, I knew when I walked into Nick's office that he was the Attorney that I wanted him to represent me. He went above and beyond my expectations. Nick is very compassionate, understanding, and supportive. He explained every step that we took in depth. He made a very difficult divorce a little less painful. I knew that my child and I were in good hands and would get what we need. Nick was always honest with me about what my expectations should be. In the end Nick's hard work provided us with a positive settlement. I have already and will continue to recommend Nick to anyone who is in need of an Attorney. Nick is the way to go!

Rob handled my divorce a few years ago as well as a recent child custody modification. He was prompt, professional, and gave me great advice. Even between cases, Rob graciously answered any questions I had. Each time, we were able to settle out of court which saved me money while still coming to acceptable compromises. He helped make very stressful times easier.

Rob handled my divorce and custody case very effectively. He explained the process to me so that I would have an idea of what steps would be taken and what I should expect, but also prepared me so that I wasn't blindsided when something unplanned happened. Fees were discussed upfront, as were timeframes that were in our control. Rob was very helpful when I needed to make decisions because he could advise me using examples of precedent cases that were similar to my situation but he also listened to all the details in my case to be sure I was represented fairly. I would recommend him highly as legal counsel!!

Rob has represented me in several matters. I always felt his advice was given in my best interest even when it was not what I was hoping to hear. He helped negotiate a divorce settlement for me that I was comfortable with and probably was the most favorable I could have hoped for. During the last several years I have consulted with him regarding custody issues. He helped me to set realistic expectations of the possible issues. Recently, Rob helped me with custody and child support to an outcome that was very successful. He was very good at communicating with me throughout the process. I've always felt the service I received were timely and fairly priced. I am comfortable using Rob as my Attorney.

In law, you get what you paid for, and you really don't get much from him. At best, he stretches himself thin with too many clients, and to his credit, he does provide legal services to those without much in the way of means. In any case, however, he's generally unresponsive to emails and phone calls, with delays taking nearly a week in some cases. He's slow to move when he does have to, with the other party's lawyer always being faster to get every document sent to me. He's sloppy, as I discovered when I had to proofread his own legal documents for him. Perhaps his biggest flaw is probably his defeatist attitude, seeming to give up before the battle has even begun. He has never made me feel hopeful for my juvenile case's outcome, and I shouldn't feel like I hired him to hold my hand while the case goes as poorly as possible. At best, he's cheap, and he'll at least help you in working through the legal wrangling that comes with going through a divorce and contested custody battle. For your own good, however, if you can afford anyone else, hire them instead.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
