I had no idea how to find and retain an effective defense attorney, and ultimately hired John based on reviews like the one I'm about to submit here...what other metric could I use?
He's a straight shooter with a wealth of experience. He kept me up to speed as each step of a grueling, bureaucratic process played out (my ordeal began mid-pandemic, allowing the state to redefine my 'right to a speedy trial').
I was confident in how I wanted to handle my defense, but adjusted course several times based on his input.
I leaned heavily on his knowledge and experience when the time came for trial, and he didn't let me down.
I sometimes wonder how things might have played out had I hired a different attorney. I'm glad I didn't. It could not have gone any better.

John definitely went above and beyond! From the time he was hired, all the way to the end of my case (that we won!) he had great communication, there wasn't a time when i didn't know what to expect. Always gave me options, and the pros and cons to each, along with great suggestions on how to move forward. He kept his phone line open for me to ask questions on the case. If he was busy, always called back. He also just checked in and made sure i was doing alright. Which was big for me in trusting his process. John communicated with my other lawyers to make sure the dates weren't conflicting with each other, if they did he had it figured out within times notice. He's very quick and on it, even while juggling many other cases. Overall the best experience with a lawyer i've had.

Compared to a previous experience with a different firm, Jonathan was excellent at communicating every step of the way. I do not know how I would have gotten through my divorce if I had not had Adrienne as my legal counsel. From our very first interaction she was so honest which I appreciated and found refreshing. Adrienne not only knows the law, she practices always keeping the law in the forefront of any conversation or interaction, which was nice for me because it made things simple regarding what could be negotiated and what was simply the law.
She worked hard with opposing counsel to ensure the process continued to move forward as she recognized that I could not move forward in life until my divorce was finalized. Adrienne is extremely organized and has an uncanny attention to detail. I trust her implicitly and although I do not plan on getting married or divorced again, if I did find myself in that situation, I would not want any other counsel except Adrienne.
Adrienne is a fierce advocate for her clients and she really took the time to get to know me as a person, my sense of humor and values as well as my triggers (I hate that word) or issues where I could easily become emotional. Adrienne is very honest and will give it to you straight so you always know where you stand. She kept me on track, moving forward and managed my emotions with grace and compassion. Divorce is not for me and like many others I didn’t get married to get divorced, but Adrienne made it not only bearable but at times enjoyable. I initially got in contact with Taylor for a consultation through my friend who had worked with him for her divorce . He gave me all of the information I needed to self-file. My ex avoided service and filed his own divorce papers in CA where he lives. So it all became very complicated. I came back to Taylor and hired him to help me navigate through it all. He could not give me any advice on CA, but he was very skilled at helping me know what to do to ensure jurisdiction for the case would be here in OR. I had lived here for 2 years with my 10 year old son. Taylor was able to successfully get jurisdiction changed to OR. My ex challenged it in CA, but we prevailed. This was an incredibly stressful and emotional experience for me that went on for almost 2 years. Taylor stuck through it all with me and was a calm and patient sounding board for my concerns and questions. He is a saint for all of the times he talked me off the edge and helped me through it all. I had a car accident in 2015 that left me injured. I had no lawyer and no reference, so I simply search "attorney" and my zipcode on a search engine and found Ryan. I used Helen to sort out a domestic relations appeal that was very complicated and had been muddled up by several other prior lawyers. I was fortunate enough to have Mr Huegli as my attorney during my DUI case. My case was difficult to prove because the police officer was not completly honest in his investigation and actually violated the law in order to charge me with a DUI. Mr. Huegli analyzed the events, the investigation and police reports and was able to determine what actually occurred. He then put a strategy together to prove this in court. I was most impressed with Mr Huegli's litigation and delivery during the trial. In the courtroom he was able to examine and cross-examine so that the jury could understand what actually happened. It was obvious that the police officer was not being entirely honest as Mr. Huegli cross-examined him on the witness stand. The jury deliberated for less than an hour and I was found "not guilty." I would highly recommend Mr. Huegli for legal representation.

I won't get into too many details about my personal case, however I can tell you that Todd knows the law inside and out. The D.A. tried to bring in a bunch of evidence that would have really killed me and Todd knew exactly how to handle it all. He did an awesome job keeping stuff out of the trial and in the end I was WAY better off having Todd on my side.
If you are looking for a criminal defense or DUI attorney, look no further. Todd is really nice, explains everything to you, and then is a machine in the court room.

I'm from CA, but had a little too much to drink while in Portland, OR and got a DUI. Todd defended me and did an awesome job. Todd did a great job keeping the DA honest and making sure they could only bring in evidence that was relevant. The details of my case were very involved and Todd did a great job making sure the inadmissible stuff stayed out of the trial. Overall, I couldn't recommend Todd more. He is a very nice guy, easy to work with, and understands the law very well.
