I called Attorney John Michelin of Fisher & Fisher with a landlord tenant issue. I was very impressed with Attorney Michelin’s knowledge of Land lord Tenant Laws and how to apply them to my situation. Attorney Michelin went through every detail of the eviction process and took the weight of evicting hostile Tenants off my shoulders. I recommend John Michelin and the staff at Fisher & Fisher with complete confidence. Fisher & Fisher will get the job done! Agnes

When Executor of Will Steals Money If the executor of the will steals the money or refuses to distribute it according to the terms of the Will, the beneficiary runs the risk of never receiving the inheritance that they are entitled to. Unfortunately, it is sometimes difficult to bring formal charges against an executor who steals the money or assets meant for the beneficiaries, particularly if the executor is also a beneficiary, and/or if the executor or one of the other beneficiaries has contested the terms of the will. This can sometimes result in assets being tied up, in a sense, during the legal proceedings. michael is helping me in this estate matter so i get what is mine

Tim served as our attorney on a house closing. He was very thorough and answered all our questions and concerns and his assistant Amber was also very helpful. Highly recommended for a house closing.

I engaged Tim Fisher as an attorney in purchase of real estate (through Hyatt Legal Plan). The purchase agreement his office put together had mistakes (names misspelled, important contingency to the purchase not included, dates were wrong) which I spotted and corrected myself. I don’t think Tim Fisher reviewed the contact or if he did I question his professionalism and due diligence. Tim Fisher and his office do not provide his email or direct number, so all communication had to go through the paralegals. The paralegal I dealt with (Amber) failed to deliver my messages/requests to Tim. When I realized that, I started documenting my communication in emails to multiple people in Mr Fisher’s office asking them to forward the email to mr Fisher. When I had a chance to speak to Tim Fisher (after three weeks of calling his office and leaving messages to call me back and emailing with the same requests), Tim sounded arrogant and rude, and what’s more important was not aware of the status of the case - what is outstanding on their part that prevented the timely closing, whether my deposit was received, when the closing statement will be put together. Mr Fisher missed the contactual closing and provided only one date and time for the postponed closing that did not fit other parties schedules. I had to speak/email to 4 different people from his office and settlement company (that is also part of his office) and raise a complain to Hyatt Legal Plan in order to have set an alternative date. Overall, I had an impression that my case was handled very unprofessionally. It took lots of emails and calls on my part trying to manage the case. Tim and his paralegals did not provide any updates on their own and did not address my questions (every question needed to go through multiple people and needed multiple follow ups). I would not recommend Tim Fisher and Amber services as I question their due diligence and professionalism.

Mr. Fisher and his staff especially Donna in the Gouldsboro office are all amazing. Treated me with dignity and explained everything in detail. Gave me all my options and made sure I understood everything going forward. Was always available for any and all questions I had. Would recommend them 100% and if ever in the future need legal advice or assistance they will be my first call.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

  1. Relevant Documents:

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
