I hired this attorney in 2013, Huma Rashid and Raymond Wigell BOTH handled my case, I've had multiple arrests/charges before, and with my previous attorneys, they'd rush to do whatever will get the case done with the quickest so that they don't have to keep coming back. Well, this didn't happen with Mr. Raymond Wigell OR Huma Rashid, they also explained the options I had (plea deal, or go to trial, etc). With these Attorneys having SO MANY years of experience, I trusted them with my LIFE to get the matter resolved without being found guilty of 3 counts of Unlawful Acquisition of a Controlled Substance by Fraud, then having to deal with being a convicted felon for the rest of my life (I was about 20 years old when this happened, so I probably wouldn't be able to get a job for my ENTIRE LIFE!!!). Well, the Law Offices of Raymond G. Wigell definitely took a very holistic approach and looked at and challenged EVERY SINGLE thing about my case/evidence/police reports. So Raymond Wigell and Huma Rashid were able to get my 3 counts of Unlawful Acquisition of a Controlled Substance by Fraud DISMISSED, and entered a plea of Guilty to one 1 MISDEMEANOR Count of Deceptive Practices, with 18 months of Misdeamnor Probation including random urine tests and Court Fees and Costs. THIS WAS A SHOCK!!! I DIDN'T BELIEVE THIS TO BE TRUE!!! The attorneys took there sweet time to make sure that they had everything correct that was needed and didn't rush into anything like ALL OTHER LAWYERS, and on top of that, they asked my opinion and what I'd like (if it was possible obviously)! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND both Raym Wigell and Huma Rashid, you did a SUPERB 15/10 STARS!! If I ever need to retain an attorney EVER AGAIN, I WILL NOT think twice about who I'm going with!! It will DEFINITELY be the Law Offices of Raymond G. Wigell, LTD. Very awesome and kept me MORE than well informed about what was going on, and what would be happening on the next court date for example, etc... Thank you guy's!! You're the BEST!

Huma just finished representing me on a criminal case. If found guilty I could have served up to 10 years. She believed in me and my case. I am now not serving any time and will have nothing on my record. She also protected me from future liabilities. Huma stuck by my side for over a year not just for my case but also for my well-being. I could not have made it through without her counsel and friendship. My family and I thank you for both.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
