Our family has used Mr. Eichenbaum for both personal and business related issues. In each instance, Mr. Eichenbaum demonstrated professionalism while always representing our best interests! What also impressed me is the "care" for me and my family that he demonstrated through the entire process and beyond. In my opinion his knowledge of the law goes beyond the "text books" as he utilized common sense and great judgement in getting the proper results we sought. I highly recommend Richard Eichenbaum.

Micheal failed to convey my demands for a settlement to my further employer, instead giving them the impression I was only after a monetary settlement, which is untrue. Unfortunately I did not learn this until I received my case file, which included uncorrected misspelling in negotiation emails to the apposing attorney. I’m embarrassed to have been represented in such an unprofessional manner.

I contacted Mr. DiChiara concerning a possible unlawful termination suit. I was aware that N.J. is more or less on the side of an employer, but I felt the need to make a last ditch effort for my own piece of mind. A few phone calls and emails transpired and then nothing, no further word from him. I followed-up with another phone call, but still no response. I'll have to assume that my potential case was tossed aside, but I have never officially been notified of that. Nothing like losing a job and then having a lawyer leave you high and dry as well.

Michael was the best. He worked with me in the evening, on the weekends, and when I needed consultation. He worked fast- and effectively. Ultimately, I got exactly what I was looking for from my employer- and I couldn't have done it without Michael. My baby was born on his due date and came out healthy- I have MIchael to thank for that. I would recommend Michael again in a heart beat and while I hope that I never have to hire Michael again- I would hire him again without hesitation.

It's been hard for me to trust people ever since hiring Mr. Krakower as my attorney for an employment - wage theft and discrimination case. Needless to say, 90% of what he told me about how he was going to support and advocate for me was worthless. Lesson: As a client, you WILL get lied to your face, ignored, belittled, and not receive any due process. He wasn’t doing his job but overcharged me anyway! Extensive fabrications for excessive, repetitive bill padding for how atrociously little legal representation he did on my behalf.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Todd Krakower. Mr. Krakower represented me in a labor case, involving wage and FLSA issues. Without going into too much detail, I ended up with a very satisfactory settlement and in the course of speaking with Todd learned a lot about labor law and the process of receiving a satisfactory settlement. This was a potentially complicated and large case and Todd kept me up to date on developments and our strategy every step of the way. I was particularly impressed by Todd's anticipation of the defendant's moves, and I believe this was a result of his experience in representing different sides in past cases. In addition, Mr. Krakower is a gentleman, and extremely trustworthy and professional. I feel I owe him a debt for taking my misfortune of having worked for a dishonest employer, and making me whole. Again, I highly recommend Mr. Krakower and everyone at his law firm.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
