Ms. Rodriguez helped me when I got falsely charged with assault DV. I was impressed because whether it was my case or not, when she walked into the courtroom, she would know what is said on every piece of paper she was given. Often times she could dispel the spinning of the story by other lawyers. She still managed to maintain a level of respect while she was arguing with her adversaries. Seeing that made me feel positive about my representation even though the subject matter of our interaction was not pleasant, she made it possible for me to get through it and I’m forever thankful to Ms Rodriguez for that. We had a successful outcome and I would recommend her to anyone who was falsely accused of a crime.

I hired Miss Rodriguez for a DUI back in April. I thought I was going to lose my job and kids while I was also dealing with a divorce at the time. After I had consulted with her several times, she remembered details of the story I had already forgotten about discussing with her. I couldn't say the same for my divorce attorney though. She is very well organized and explained to me how things will go and not to worry. She was so right on how the process went and she got me off all charges. She was very reasonable on her rate and most of all I did not lose my job. I wish I would have hired her as my divorce attorney. I will recommend this Miss Rodriguez to all my family and friends! She is a life saver.

I had a terrible issue with a neighbor who requested a protection order against me. It was one of the most stressful events I had experienced. I didn’t know how to defend against the false accusations in such a short amount of time. It feels like you are tried and convicted when you have to defend against this type of thing. After calling several lawyers, Ms. Rodriguez came highly recommended by another lawyer who saw her in court fighting my type of case successfully. After my consultation, I felt a weight lifted but even though she made it clear there was work to do but I felt good that I had her by my side to do that work. She was supportive and understood my feelings and helped me to emotionally get through it. She asked me questions I didn’t even think of because I was overwhelmed by the process. In a short matter of days, she had gathered text message conversations and emails and ripped apart all the false accusations. When we got to court, I felt vindicated. We won! That was the best feeling. I’m thankful that I had her in my corner and because of that, I will never forget what she did for me. She cares more than just a lawyer and that meant a lot. You are in good hands with her.

I was stuck between a rock and a hard place legally. I needed representation fast. I researched a bit and found Ms Lujano at Roach & Bishop. After an initial consultation with her i felt more confident that there was something that could be done in my case and retained her as my legal representative. She has listened to my concerns, answered them in excellent form, and maintained communication in ways that other lawyers fail, keeping in touch and staying ahead of the situation with a geniune understanding of both the law and her client’s needs. I couldnt have asked for a better lawyer and i am deeply appreciative of her time and services. With her help..i won. She is truly a great lawyer.

I was charged with DUI with a relatively high BAC while visiting from out of state. Brian was recommended to me by a family member who is also a lawyer because he was the "best in the state." Based on my experience, I would certainly agree with this statement. Ultimately, Brian neogtiated a very fair and just outcome that allowed me to get my life back. I would never have received this if it hadn't been for Brian's persistence, diligence, and expertise in the law. Additionally, Brian is excellent at guiding you throughout the entire DUI nightmare process. It's not fun (it shouldn't be!) but he was great at explaining what was happening and the why behind it. I was always 100% confident that things would work out for the best with Brian as my lawyer and ultimately that's what happened. If you're in the same situation I was, the best advice to get your life back on track is to hire Brian Roach as your attorney!

If anyone complains about him not calling back in a timely manor you may have a point. BUT . The reason why he can't get back to you right away is because he takes on every case that he can he's very very busy . Brian Is the best and that's why he's so busy. And he does not ever disappoint. I have sent Brian friends family and some strangers and I have not yet had one of them be disappointed in the work that he's done. He has either gotten them completely out of the charges or they have gotten better results than they would have gotten any other way. Brian does a fabulous job he's very personable has a great personality and I've known him for thirty years or more and i know he's always been a good person . Now he's a good person who can help people . Thank you Brian you're fabulous! Patst Sue Bolson

I am so lucky to have had Nick to help me with my recent criminal charge. Nick is not only a good man and an easy person to talk to (with the BEST assistant ever!!!) he is well versed in law and explains things clearly, with confidence, and in a manner you can understand. From within minutes of meeting him he understood me, my case, and what I was up against. I was so impressed by how well he understood my case but also my personal position - validation and empathy are key for me and Nick gave that so well! Furthermore, he WON my case and he made it look so easy - he really made me feel well taken care of and what was a very stressful criminal matter during a very tumultuous divorce, Nick made me feel at ease relate to my criminal matter. I had no concerns about my case as I had Nick to help me - and he really did deliver the best outcome! He is THE MAN! Hire Nick and you will be in excellent hands! He is impressive at his legal skill but also fun to be around as he is calm, confident, and has great energy. THANK YOU NICK and ALONDRA!

I was falsely charged by a family member of assault 2, class B felony, a strikble offense. I have have never had any criminal charges until this happened. I found myself in jail accused of something I didn’t do. I was drugged. I basically woke up in jail. I was on a 72 hour hold. My family member put me in jail over money. My bail was $10,000. A family friend knew a Benton county judge who referred Nick Jones to us. I paid a flat fee upfront. I wasn’t billed anymore like most lawyers do. He worked with me and the witnesses for my case to help use the facts and evidence to get the prosecutor to drop my case 10 months later. My ex family member created a lot of evidence proving they weren’t a credible witness. Nick Jones showed the prosecutor the necessary evidence that I am innocent. The prosecutor dropped my case. Beware many spouses put there spouse in jail so they get a restraining order, custody of the kids, spousal support, and the house. It’s a brilliant evil divorce strategy. Domestic Violence is just a an accusation. Cops legally have to arrest or they can be fired. Don’t talk to the cops. Get a lawyer like Nick Jones so you can get your life back like I did. I highly recommend him. He is a very likable guy in and out of the court. Thank You Nick. I will always be thankful for his help.

When charged with a DUI, I was referred to Nick by a prosecuting attorney. At our first meeting, Nick made sure that I understood the potential worst possible scenario, which was very unsettling. After that, he committed to obtaining the best possible outcome. And that is exactly what he did!! The outcome Nick secured was far more favorable than I expected and even thought possible!! Based on my experience, I highly recommend hiring Nick.

When I first met with LaCoste Law, I came in feeling helpless and without any recourse to the situation I was in. However, that quickly changed after I had my first meeting with them. They listened to everything I was dealing with and reassured me that they would do everything they could to help me. They are very easy to work with, and very knowledgeable in what they do. Communication is phenomenal, they walked me though every step of the process. I was never left feeling lost or unheard. I had the misfortune of being assign Mr. Ziegler as a state appoint attorney in an action against me regarding a child support issue. His disdain for clients he served this way became apparent to me very quickly. The first judge that I went before recused himself from being able to hear my case. We left the courtroom to an adjacent room when he began yelling about, or “inquiring very loudly without waiting for my response”, what had I done wrong such that a judge what not hear my case. He had immediately assumed that there was some sort of malfeasance on my part that was the cause of the judge recusing himself from the case. The fact was that the judge knew me personally and I'd talked about my case with him. Mr. Ziegler lacked in his knowledge of the law, or was willfully misrepresenting the law for his convenience. One of my primary concerns in this action was whether I was going to lose my gun rights. He assured me that I would indeed lose my gun rights if I didn't consent to everything the prosecution wanted. (This was a “contempt of court” action with regards to child support.) Twice, with two different judges, I inquired about this issue (because he wouldn't push this issue that was a primary concern of mine) and both judges told me that my gun rights would not be affected by the action against me. My ability to contact Mr. Ziegler and receive any useful guidance was so lacking that I eventually continued, as much as I could, without discussing anything with him. Eventually I'd come to a tentative agreement directly with the prosecuting deputy, but the prosecutor was hindered from directly dealing with me because I was officially represented by Mr. Ziegler. In court, the prosecutor asked Mr. Ziegler for a written consent for him to deal directly with me. Mr. Ziegler gave verbal consent to such, but refused to provide the written consent that the prosecutor apparently needed. This caused a significant problem for me as there was a certain time based deadline I was coming up on and without the ability to come to an agreement with the prosecutor was to be incarcerated, as I didn't have the money they'd originally demanded. At this point, I believe that the prosecutor saw how badly my counsel was representing me and gave me lee-way by not pushing the deadline that the state had imposed. By the graces of the prosecutor, I was spared the consequences that were being caused by my attorney's refusal to provide written consent for the prosecutor to directly discuss my case with me. Eventually, a judge officially relegated my counsel to only being in an advisory role, thus allowing me to deal directly with the prosecutor. After the attitude and actions of Mr. Ziegler, along with either the lack of knowledge or willingness to misrepresent the law, I decided that I was better off handling the issue completely by myself. I had send follow up correspondence to Mr. Ziegler requesting copies of court paperwork from when he “represented” me for my records, but I never received a reply from him. From my observation of him with another client in court at the time he represented me; if you pay him to be your lawyer he'll gush about you to the judge, and presumably will not be hostile or hinder you. But it appears that you have to directly pay him for that sort or representation.

Larry Ziegler has more heart and soul than any other lawyer I have ever witnessed. He NEVER treated me like a statistic. He treated me like I was a real person who had serious issues and addictions. He was genuinely concerned for my future. He made me want to better myself. I have been clean and sober for years now. Looking back through all the court appearances I had, He was the best and I witnessed him being the best for other people who needed help and guidance. I would absolutely recommend him to everyone. You may regret not hiring him, but you will never regret hiring him. Thanks Larry.

Mr. Paul Keister was retained by me in a Family Law civil matter to obtain foster care records. Mr. Keister contacted the Respondents, those obligated under the law to release its foster care records to a former foster child or adoptive child. One Respondent did release some hard-copy records, some illegible, afer being copied. Mr. Keister went behind the Plaintiff's back, myself, to secure a judge's signature that the records had been released, and that the matter was closed. I approached Mr. Keister as to why he did this after he was not reachable without consulting with me, before I had time to review what was released. When I indicated that not all records had been released, Mr. Keister indicated that nothing further could be done and that the judge's signature was final. I thought it highly unusual that a Respondent could release only part of the recorded history in foster care, 19 years of it, some periods of which were traumatic or abusive or both. When I asked who the judge was that signed off that the case was closed, Mr. Keister did not know or did not recall. I thought that this was a highly unusual response. Mr. Keister once describing this as a "nothing case." I had to retain another attorney in another law firm to undo what Mr. Keister did, to get the case reopened and to get a court order which directed that ALL records be released in whatever form they existed: on hard paper copy, on tape recordings or on microfiche and that they be legible. This was done, but not by Mr. Keister. When asked if my office conversations with Mr. Keister were being recorded, Mr. Keister indicated that he did not know. I thought that this was also a highly unusual answer for an experienced attorney who once ran for a judgeship. When asked if a conflict of interest existed between Mr. Keister and myself in this matter, he indicated that he did not know what that was, and when pressed, he indicated that such conflicting interests were hard to define, paraphrasing. I thought that this was also a most unusual answer. I got the idea that the Respondents were stonewalling the Plaintiff in their records production and that Mr. Keister was a part of the effort of impeding discovery by going behind hte Plaintiff's back to get this case dismissed, prematurely, before All records had been released. Once I hired another attorney to reopen this case, with court order, this alerted other care-taker Respondents as to what to do regarding their records in foster care: to not provide them, or to lose them, or to make a legal battle in order to get them released. This is exactly what one Respondent did, destroying records or losing them with contradictory dates as to when they were lost in a "fire" or "flood" about one year before this case began. Mr. Keister did not vigorously represent me in this matter, though he was paid over $8,000.00 over many months to secure those foster care records. He did not initiate delay proceedings against one Respondent though there is clear indication in the records that the Respondents were stonewalling the Plaintiff in releasing their foster care records to the Plaintiff. When asked to itemize when and what legal work had been done by Mr. Keister, Mr. Keister needed my cancelled checks to establish the timeline of what he did, and when what was done and how long it took him to do what. It was not a good experience to be in his office, with the distinct impression that I was being recorded, though Mr. Keister did not disclose this, and would not, giving a vague answer as to whether I was being eavesdroped on in my interaction with him. I think it could be described as sloppy legal work that he rendered which cost me dearly, legally and monetarily.

If you've got a simple quit-claim deed or simple will to write, he's an excellent attorney. However if you have a remotely complicated case, he's horrible at informing you of what is required on your part, and horrible at correspondence. I received an offer from the State of Washington with an expiration date of July 31st, which was mailed to him in June. I did not receive this package from him until Mid-August. He and the opposing attorneys scheduled a deposition for me without contacting me first, and by the time I received the paperwork I had only 5 business days to make arrangements with my employer. No phone calls, it all comes by mail weeks after it's needed. It's called common courtesy, something he is seriously lacking. I also had him list several properties, and as he was not available, the interested parties looked me up and contacted me for additional information and price negotiations. When the listings with him expired, I was not informed by him and listed with other more responsive agencies.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
