Attorney Jean M. Ansay was referred to me by another attorney friend of mine in the Milwaukee area. My only request was." I wanted the Best" and boy did I get it for my Child Support fight. Her team and I became friends, family, enemies, partners and my psychiatrist. Jean was passionate about being fair in the battle and protective of me and all my personal and business affairs. She informed me prior to agreeing to hire her that the process was going to be somewhat unpredictable but they were going to do everything in their power to take all the pressure off me and allow me to go about my day to day life. One thing I was advised of was that 'You hired me to be your attorney and I take pride in doing so....so let me do my job and represent you in the utmost professional manner you deserve. I honestly do miss them...WOW..did I say that?

Attorney Ansay represented me throughout my divorce. She was kind yet firm, knowledgeable yet approachable. She and her incredible office staff were quick and clear with communication throughout the entire process, including follow-up questions after the divorce was finalized. If you are looking for someone to guide you through this emotional and overwhelming time, know that Attorney Ansay is truly the best; she will be an advocate for you and keep the best interest of you (and your children) in the forefront of everything. I am so thankful that she was on my side.

Experienced and kind bankruptcy attorneys, James Stanek did most of the filing and things and his partner appeared with me on the court date (by phone). Both were kind, explained/demystified the process very well, and made a difficult decision and process as low stress as possible, which I appreciate. They were always open to my questions. Absolutely recommended 100%!

An excellent choice. Extremely professional. This is a very personal, difficult decision for most people. We were made to feel comfortable with our decision and at no time felt demeaned because of our situation. We would highly recommend them.

My company has worked with Tim for over 15 years. We have followed Tim as he worked with some of the large legal firms and are pleased to continue working with him now that he has started his own firm. It is great to have an attorney with a solid engineering background, he understands the electro-mechanical systems that we are working with. I wouldn't be working with him for this long if not for his expertise and attention to details, I can honestly give Tim my highest recommendation.

My family and I are extremely unhappy with the representation that was provided. Olmr was blatantly rude, disrespectful, condescending, and did not work in our best interest. In good conscience, I would not recommend him. I have given it great thought to report the matter to the American Bar Association but decided not to.

I'm so glad that I hired Attorney Olmr to help me with my criminal case. This was the first time I had ever been in trouble and was very scared. Not only did he work hard for me, but he took the time to really explain everything and treated me like a person. I highly recommend him!

I contacted Olmr Law to help me address a speeding ticket that I received. Robert was quick to respond to my request and took over the case. His ability to negotiate with the court system allowed for a significant point reduction on my license. Robert was very professional and kept me informed of progress on my case. I would not hesitate to use his services again in the future if the need should arise.

First let me explain Tim provis was very kind and accepting me making payments cuz you know I could not afford to give a big large retainment so he allowed me to make payments of $300 a month for a total of $5,000 to appeal a case of corruption and Manitowoc County with that being said although he eventually offered to finish the case pro bono and said he was planning on filing a writ of prohibition in which he never did. He told me I didn't have to finish making any payments I feel it was a disservice because doing the case pro bono or even at a reduced rate is no deal at all if he doesn't return your calls file an emotions this goes beyond just the case I mean the judge was an obstructionist of Justice he lacked him out of e-file wouldn't allow him notifications of hearings that were coming up for me I ended up having a warrant issue for my arrest he said he was going to file a Prohibition because they were denying to him access to the file so that he could represent me and he never did any of that and as I said in the beginning it started out very nice he was very generous but is that truly generous if he doesn't do anything for you and in the meantime you bypass your time lines and your love no recourse and you can't appeal it anymore cuz too much time is left so did he give me a deal or did he take advantage of me by having me pay what I did pay and then what radio silence after turning my calls stopped returning my emails. At the very minimum he should have filed a complaint with the judicial commission that's a judge was not allowing him access to e-file so that he could represent me it was a confidential case that I should not have had access to however the corrupt judge inserted me into that confidential case then denied me access to it so I couldn't have representation so it wasn't me trying to get access to records I didn't need or wasn't required to have it was the judge you inserted me into the confidential case and then refused to allow my lawyer any access to the files so that he would be on notified of any Court hearings when I missed a court hearing because I was that notified nor was he a warrant was issued for my arrest I might add that this case it won't was issue for my arrest I wasn't even a party to the case literally she parked me out the street to find me in contempt and sanctioned me 6 months jail sentence to be stayed unless than a month later he took back that stay and gave me 20 days in jail and I was forced to move out of state so now I don't know what recourse I have I can't file an appeal because the time is lapsed the only thing I'm thinking is maybe I can file a civil to find a civil attorney to represent me in federal court for ineffective assistance of counsel and judicial corruption

I called this man to get some legal advice and he was the mist disrespectful person I have ever talked to. First of he interrupted me every sentence that I spoke. Was never able to get one entire sentence out. Then told me it doesn't matter if there was evidence that was never admitted to the court. Extremely disrespectful and very rude. DO NOT USE THIS MAN. You're better off with a public pretender.

Attorney Provis was recently sanctioned by Federal District Judge William Conley for improperly preparing and filing a frivolous civil RICO complaint against a number of defendants. Provis’ complaint was dismissed with prejudice against each defendant. Provis was ordered by Judge Conley to pay all attorneys’ fees and expenses for three defendants. Provis now owes those defendants over forty thousand dollars. Provis misconduct also exposed his client, the plaintiff in the case, to Judge Conley’s order to pay all the same $40+ thousand in fees and costs. Judge Conley also found that Provis filed the RICO case for an improper purpose. Namely, Provis was assisting his client in carrying on a many years old vendetta and harassment of defendants. See Upchurch v O’Brien et al, 19 cv 165, Western District of Wisconsin, Judge Conley Opinion and Order dated August 16, 2021; order 7/26/22 and Judgment entered August 4, 2022. Provis’misconduct May be investigated by the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
