I spoke directly to Richard AlAziz today briefly about my Landlord/Tenant situation and he not only advised me but he took the time to listen to me. I must emphasize this again….. he took the time to listen to me which I rarely get from other lawyers. He showed empathy and compassion which is a dire need in todays overflowing economy of mental illnesses. People in this world are not taking it citizens mental health seriously and this is why we continue to run into the crisis of mass shootings, homicides and suicides. We as a society need more people like Richard AlAziz who has taken a minute of his time with me to understand my concerns and helped me so much and also gave me the relief I needed just so I could get by another day. I hired Randy because I was facing a 1st DUI charge. He was honest about the facts of my case(the good, bad and the ugly) from start to finish. He combed through everything: audio/visual, roadside test results and certifications, background, etc.
He is a great communicator and was readily available to answer any questions I had...talk, text or email- he was there.
I ended up with a reduced charge and NO probation. Highly recommend!

If you're going through a divorce, do yourself a favor and call Ruth! I can't imagine having survived this without her. Divorce is awful, one of the toughest things I've ever been through, but Ruth made it so much more manageable. She was incredibly kind and patient, always taking the time to answermy questions, no matter how small. And she was amazing at explaining all the complicated legal jargon in plain English. She always got back to me right away, which was a lifesaver when I was feeling anxious. But the best thing about Ruth? It was just... her! She was fun to talk to and made me laugh a LOT! It always felt like she was being real with me – like a friend helping me through it, not just some lawyer. Can’t tell you to stay away from this attorney enough. She not only won’t fight for you she fights for the OTHER person. She knows nothing about Medicare and gave me council to allow my millionaire ex to file her taxes jointly. I fought against it very hard, but it was introduced at the very end. I was told the whole thing was at risk if I blocked it from happening. Now I’m being charged $500 a month for Medicare when I shouldn’t be at all. When I called to inform her of the massive mistake I was told how easy of a fix it was and that’s it’s no big deal. My Christmas with my daughter got ruined because they took retro from my check, but it’s no big deal. Well, it turns out it’s a huge deal to fix and it’s going to cost me even more. She passed the buck when confronted. I didn’t even have enough food for the month because of her unwillingness to fight on one thing.
The worst thing she did was gang up on me with the social worker in our case. They both interrogated me for over an hour trying to get me to “walk back” my statement that the social worker had essentially coerced me into signing the parenting plan. Instead of believing me and fighting for me they both decided to try and get me to lie. I refused, and I’m glad I did. It turned out the social worker was lying, texted me accidentally admitting it in the middle of the interrogation, and quit the case the following Monday. I’m telling you coillabrative divorce is a scam to rob the poor of any opportunity to be heard. Your voice gets completely stomped on. Do not do it! Go to trial. Definitely do not hire this attorney. She’ll seem great at first, but her lack of knowledge will hurt you severely. Happy New Year.

My family and I hired Marcel as our attorney for a case involving the wrongful death of my mother back in 2020. As a 21 year old kid have never dealt with anything like this before; I can tell you it was very stressful, and I didn’t know how I was going to do it! Marcel was the best attorney to have supporting us throughout the last four years! Anytime I would call or text I don’t think I ever had to wait 5 minutes for a text back, and I don’t think I ever got his voicemail when calling. He made sure to keep me in the loop with everything he did and/or filed in the courts, he went the extra lengths to get information he needs, he made chapter books of notes to present to judges . It was something so amazing to see someone who wasn’t family fight so hard for us. Yes it’s his job I get that part but it was deeper than that and I could feel it with Marcel. My Life Includes some horrible decisions, like drunk driving, but one choice I’ll never regret was hiring Jonathan Jones to guide me through the Legal System! Facing a 3rd DUI, I was a wreck, scared of everything I was up against, until I met Jonathan. Not only did he provide some calm , I actually really liked the guy!! One doesn’t get into this position without being a full blown alcoholic, he knew it , got me on the road to sobriety right away, and encouraged me to use this situation as a bridge to the rest of my life. Without boring you with the specifics.. I was looking at a mandatory minimum of 2 years in prison. It all stemmed from a road rage incident FROM THE OTHER GUY. I defended myself from harm and even called 911. However, the man was most likely connected with the law enforcement community as there were 3 Michigan State Police cars outside my house when I arrived home. Needless to say, I was a little concerned. I needed a reputable criminal attorney that knew their stuff. I maintain my innocence, but try convincing the State Police and Prosecutor’s Office of that when they KNEW THE GUY (in my humble opinion.) I instantly hired Derrick George. I think I visited his office twice with information and statements about the incident. Now, I don’t know HOW he did it but Derrick George, Magic Man, stopped everything BEFORE the Prosecutor’s Office even looked at the incident. No trial. No pre-prosecution diversion, NOTHING! I even got a phone call from the State Police saying everything was fine. Mind you, that was after the original meeting when 3 state troopers were sweating me hard and searching my house, etc. I believe to this day that the phone call from them was a form of an apology for being overzealous. Without Derrick George on my side, who knows what might’ve happened. He is friendly, knowledgeable and most all CARING. His connections are undeniable. If you find yourself in a jam, don’t make a terrible mistake and hire a subpar attorney, hire somebody that has your back. Thank you Derrick. You are a life saver. Footnote: I fully support the Michigan State Police and all law enforcement in general.

I was arrested last year for delivery/manufacturing marijuana. I've gotten in a little trouble a few times in the past, but by no means would I consider myself a criminal...and this was biggest trouble (and first felony) I had ever gotten into. At the time of my arrest I had recently, finally acquired a good job with one of the major car manufacturing companies. I knew that going to jail would cost me my job and take away my ability to support myself and my child in a secure and comfortable manner. When I finally went to my first court date and met Matt, he immediately made me feel comfortable by letting me know exactly what was going to happen that day and that it wasn't anything to worry about. I had a number of court dates over the next few months most of which were just formalities. Not only was Matt very knowledgeable about the legal process and explaining everything that was going on so that I could understand, but (and maybe more importantly) he also made me feel at ease by talking to me about normal life situations and topics. It was a very lonely feeling when I got in trouble, bc aside from worrying about the outcome and what my future would look like had things gone bad, I had to distance myself from my whole life style and most of my friends bc a lot of them were involved in the very thing I got in trouble for. Although most were doing it on a legal medical level, I didn't want any more trouble coming my way or theirs. Matt made himself available to me day or night with phone calls or texting whether it was a question about my case or just to chat about life or whatever. He showed true care and concern about the outcome of my case and was a friend when I needed one. And not just because he wanted a victory on his record, but because he took the time to get to know me, and my family, and my life situation, and really cared about what happened to me...and I truly believe that. I've had other attornies in the past for other instances of trouble I've gotten in. Some were hired privately, and some were public defenders, but none were there for me both professionally and on a personal level the way Matt was. I was convicted of the crime I was charged with, but I planned on plead,u guilty from day 1 anyway...but my case was truly a victory in the sense that on a 4 year maximum sentence I didn't have to go to jail for even 1 day. I would recommend Matt to anyone who was in need of an attorney, and I would definitely consider him a friend and someone I'm glad I met. The bright spot in a super stressful situation over this last year. I truly feel like he save my life. Thanks Matt, George.

Mr. Lacey initially litigated a rental dispute with an apartment complex in Rochester Hills Michigan. The apartment complex claimed that I owed them money and was suing me for that money and more. Mr. Lacey was referred to me by a co-worker. I presented Mr. Lacey with the proof that I didn't owe the money and he was successful in resolving the issue in my favor. Because of this issue I decided to move and a few years later the complex tried to sue me for wrongful termination of the lease even though I gave the complex written notice that I was leaving because of the negative history that we had together and they agreed to let me go. I contacted Mr. Lacey again and the final result was a "tie"; the ruling was that I had to pay some money to the complex but they had to give me back my security deposit which they had held.
More recently Mr. Lacey helped my husband and I create our Living Wills.

We were in need of an attorney located in Michigan to help us dispose of family property in the state of Michigan. This involved several family members and most living in different states. If you're looking for someone fluffy, this is not the attorney for you. He's down-to-earth, honest, trustworthy and, a bit brash at times, but if you need something done, this is your guy. He's assisted our family in several matters, from divorce, custodianship, guardianship, will prep and conservatorships. I highly recommend.
