We have used Anthony as our lawyer for more then one case. You could not have a better lawyer then Anthony working for you . He goes above and beyond what most lawyers will do . He will get you the best settlement , that he can . He may take longer on getting your settlement , but this is because he wants the very best for you . I would recommend him to anyone who needs a lawyer , for a accident or workers comp. claim .

James Tucker is a great attorney. He is always willing to answer questions for you even if the question is not related to the case you started out with. I used to ask him questions in the courtroom even before he was my hired attorney. Sometimes court cases take quite some time and I have been impressed at his continuous follow up.

This has been my first experience meeting with a lawyer. Surprisingly, my meeting with Jason went so well. It was very informative and educational. After listening to my situation patiently, he advised me on what steps I need to take to protect my children and myself in my pending divorce case. Jason believes in being there for his clients when they need him. If he is occupied for a period during the business day he returns phone calls and e-mails as quickly as possible, the same business day, using the technology he has in place to stay in touch. I believe Jason listens to his clients and really understands what the client wants and needs, and works within that framework. Jason works to ensure that the scope of his legal work stays consistent with the client’s expectations. He also realizes that many of a lawyer’s future clients come from existing clients, and he seeks to make his clients so satisfied with his services that they are eager to send their friends and family to him Should any of my friends, family or associates need professional legal advice, I will be happy to recommend Jason as highly capable and effective.

I went to him concerning a custody issue after I was pretty much told by another lawyer that my children's emotional feelings were irrelavent & I had no argument as long as they were not coming home bruised or physically broken. He took the time to talk with my children. He fought for my children's rights & he is - in my book - a child advocate. He was very informative & great with the kids. He made a scary situation not so scarey. I trusted him with my children and they are getting the help they need. He made the law work for the little people.

Mr. Haynes represented me in my recent divorce after 20 plus years of marriage. He was attentive and sensitive to the inevitable barbs and slings that were lobbed my way and was able to keep me focused on the things that truly matters in my life. He was a first rate communicator and called me back the same day if I had questions or concerns. It was very obvious during the court appearances that he holds a high level of respect from other attorneys as well as the judges. With his help, we settled our assets in an equitable manner. I highly recommend Garrett for your legal needs. He is a consummate professional. Jimmy

Mr Isbell did NOTHING what so ever to defend me. He did not try to protect me or get any charges reduced. It was just like I had no lawyer at all. The results would have been the same if I'd went with the public defender. The only difference would have been that I'd saved money with the public defender.

These statements are subjective, but how I feel. He is a nice guy, but did little to assist with my DUI. He sure did cash my checks easy, but could never look into my arrest video and make sure my field sobriety was on a level surface. I had to ask for lower penalties. He didn't offer any.

Bad attitude and a horrible attorney. Can’t even be bothered to know your name. Will not take your calls but gladly take your money. Will not explain the court process. Will not inform of proceedings. Her assistant works well with her because her attitude is just as bad. Both are miserable and take it out on clients. Even if this review saves 1 person from her it’s worth it, no one should have the experience of spending your savings and fully trusting someone with your future and having it all crushed. It’s devastating.

So Rude! I honestly felt like she worked for the other side than for me. Incompetent, she did not seem like she was interested in taking things further, like it was a burden to go to bat for her own client. Especially, when several items came back in our favor. Once a plea was given, she seemed more interested in taking that than to continue. As an innocent client, I felt guilted into accepting, by my own attorney!! This was a few years back, but I think about being a pushover almost every day. Lost a lot because of how it played out including my career!! If you have one tiny notion to get someone else, DO IT! I myself didn't listen to my initial instinct, nor did I listen to two other very important persons in my life, as well as in the public and private sector of our community! Wish I had!

This woman may be good getting people disability, but she is not a good defense lawyer at all. She likes to sweet talk your accuser into dropping the false chargers they have filed against you. She is in tight with the local law enforcement and will not fight them on your behalf even when they have proven to have brought false charges against you. Not professional and quit my case 4 days before my court date and kept half of my money.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
