Wrongful arrest, malicious prosecution, court appearances dragging over 3 years! Gary worked diligently to get my case dismissed despite numerous court appearances and long drives. Across 3 1/2 years, Gary was there for my wife and I. Very knowledgeable and steadfast in my defense. I'm thankful for his every effort on my behalf. Without Gary, I know things could have been terrible for my family. For this and for Gary...I am thankful.

You want the best matrimonial attorney in town to represent you? Hire David Marco Weber, Esq, of Divorce310, whether you’re facing a divorce, a custody case, or any other family law matter. I employed the services of Mr Weber in September 2023 to represent me in a custody case. Mr Weber immediately went to work, deftly outlined a court strategy, and filed the petition as well as subsequent documents without delay (even on week-ends). He had the court papers served to the opposing party in highly diplomatic fashion without causing a meltdown, thus facilitating a smooth and efficient commencement of the custody case. During the pre-court proceedings, Mr Weber proved a valuable and highly knowledgeable adviser anticipating the other party’s strategy and moves, which I found particularly reassuring given the emotionally charged nature of any family law issue. Going through a divorce or custody case is never a pleasant experience, and I came to greatly appreciate Mr. Weber’s legal expertise, calm demeanour, and detailed knowledge of the inner workings of the Los Angeles court systems in that process. Mr Weber had my best interests at heart, was personally invested in the outcome of my custody case, and proved to be an extremely skilful negotiator. He knew exactly when it was time to employ a hard-nosed, no-nonsene approach, and when it was warranted to strike a more conciliatory tone — whatever it took to achieve the overall goal of winning my case in court. His broad general education and psychological skills in combination with his impressive legal accomplishments render him a uniquely qualified matrimonial attorney amongst bar-associated lawyers in this city. Suffice it to say that in court, Mr. Weber’s strategy unfolded flawlessly. I got ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING I asked for and will be eternally grateful to Mr Weber for winning my custody case and having my child back in my life. If you’re facing a divorce or custody case and are looking for the best possible representation in Los Angeles, I recommend you set up a consultation with David Marco Weber, Esq., right away. You’ll be beyond impressed — Mr Weber is the legal warrior that anybody would want on their team.

Robt. P. Baker successfully negotiated a difficult settlement on my behalf that involved corporate ownership and employment compensation issues. Decades ago my business partner and I had executed a complicated shareholder’s agreement that recently became a matter of dispute at a time when our company sold most of its assets to a new entity. The stakes were very high for me, as more than 30 years of employment were encompassed by my equity entitlement; the fruits of my entire career were on the line and the sale of our business brought with it the end of any employment or future income opportunity for me with either my partner or the entity purchasing our company's assets. Baker articulated a deft strategy to deal with the situation and guided me through the process, at all times keeping me informed and advised of possible outcomes and potential complications. The hurdle posed by the opposition’s initial failure to favorably respond was overcome by actions that were creative and appropriate. We filed a multi-faced legal suit that involved employment law, government regulation, and statutes relevant to business practice. Fortunately, litigation was avoided, but I have every confidence that Baker would have been able to navigate that phase of the case had it been necessary. Baker’s greatest attribute is that he is effective. His able management of my case achieved an outcome that was just and equitable.

Robert is one of a kind lawyer that hits the ground running and acts fast. He is always reachable anytime on the day and extremely responsive. He is not your typical lawyer who signs you up and changes color on you. I went to him on a Saturday morning and by the end of the day, he had performed more than any lawyer would have done for me in a week...hands down. I was in need of legal assistance in a complex real estate matter but it was of no match to his level of knowledge and abilities. His passion and motivation to solve a case shows in the work he performs. He has been a constant fearless fighter in our case and have greatly exceeded my expectation. I have dealt with lawyers on several occasions and I now wish I met Robert earlier. My wife and I are extremely lucky to have Robert to work on our case.

Incredibly helpful and thorough attorney. He walked me through all the potential angles and really helped ease the stress that my particular copyright issues were causing in my life and business. He was successful in retrieving damages and forcing compliance. I will definitely continue to hire him for all future issues and recommend to others. I only wish I had only found him sooner.

Joseph was extremely helpful throughout the my entire EB-5 process by working with me to obtain correct "source of funds" documentation and explaining to me the requirements of the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Visa Program (and how USCIS adjudicates specific issues). Joseph always kept me updated regarding the status of my immigration applications with USCIS and the status of my EB-5 investment project. He clearly cares about my family and our immigration status, but he also was a good listener and hard-worker. I highly recommend Joseph

I contacted Mr. Marchand for assistance regarding a trademark dispute I was involved with. He was very responsive to my needs and knowledgeable on the subject. Ultimately he was able to provide counsel as to my best course of action at the outset of the dispute and ultimately resolve the matter without the need for trial. I appreciated his practical approach to addressing the problem and his ability to resolve the matter without incurring unnecessary legal expense, as far as I could tell. I am very pleased with his representation and knowledge on the subject.

I spoke to Waylon about the firm and booked an appointment to see Laura. A hour before the meeting Weylon called to confirm, that was a red flag that I ignored. Laura explained what the approval process was and that it could take sometime to get approval given my families situation. I decided to become a client of the firm and sent in my retainer and notified the firm. When the check did not arrive I got an email asking about the check, there was some back and forth. Once the check was received and cashed I heard nothing. I called and asked for status, I emailed and asked for a call back so I could understand what I should expect. Low and behold I got an approval letter and wasn’t sure what to do - was that it was anything else required? I sent another email no response, finally frustrated I called and told the receptionist that I was very frustrated that no one has called or emailed me back. After the phone call I got an email from the firm congratulating me on the approval. Once they got the check there was no communication. The follow up it terrible and unprofessional. I’ve had better service at McDonalds.

On 3/13/24, I contacted and consulted with Attorney Aidan McGlaze. He requested all my case information, including a synopsis and audio files. After hearing my voice, things changed. Without even reviewing the materials, he refused my case and offered a smug "good luck" without a care in the world. I would NOT recommend this lawyer!

I am a physician and as such have had many instances in which I worked with, hired and consulted with attorneys. With that being said, I have never had an experience with an attorney other then with Aidan McGlaze where I had full trust in his abilities, intelligence, integrity and compassion. I required an attorney for an issue that impacted my livelihood and was having profound effects on my welfare; financially, physically and emotionally. Mr. McGlaze handled the issue expertly which led to a positive outcome. I appreciated his work not only for the outcome, but for the manner he achieved it. He consistently kept me informed of what was happening with my case, involved me in the decision making process and promptly responded to all of my phone calls and emails. It was apparent that he researched my case diligently and presented the best option out of several that would have the best desirable outcome. Most notably, he was very personable and empathized with the toll the legal issue was taking on my welfare. I highly recommend Aidan Conor McGlaze for your legal needs without reservation.

I retained this attorney only to discover via the CALBAR website that they are not eligible to practice law as of July, 2024, and as of the time of this review. He did not make any efforts to inform me and in fact this office seemed very impressed with their own alleged achievements. By this offices own acknowledgment here on this website they indicate they were deemed ineligible by the State Bar due to an ‘administrative error and failure to pay a fee’. TBH I got the impression during our consultation that the firm may be experiencing financial difficulties and I have a nagging suspicion this is why they were unable to pay their state bar fees because they were very focused on when I’d be paying the retainer. In one response here on AVVO Stephen claims the ineligibility is CT related then in another that it’s IOLTA related so the information is very inconsistent and may be questionable. IOLTA accounts are sacrosanct and the issue appears to be related to IOLTA account maintenance and record keeping which may be serious as an IOLTA account is where a lawyer holds client funds in trust. I am in the process of terminating my relationship with the lawyer and requesting a refund of the retainer paid and will report back as the situation develops.

Beware of this lawyer, he’s practicing law without a license in California. I consulted with him and he assured me he has all his licenses in place while bragging about his legal prowess and hard selling me on his fees. See the California state bar for additional info and buyer beware!: https://apps.calbar.ca.gov/attorney/Licensee/Detail/179314

Spoke with him on my case and he showed me all of his referrals and cases won. I signed on the spot thinking he would be working on my case. He is not. Instead he has law students/trainees doing all of the work and coming with me to court. i was told if I end their services now I will have to pay for billable hours. Just feel tricked since I met with Ben only and after that he was too busy to do anything. Would be better off representing myself.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
