Geoffrey was a lifesaver after my hit-and-run accident. I was completely overwhelmed and didn't know where to turn. Geoff was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Geoff took the time to explain the legal process and answer all my questions. He handled everything from insurance claims to legal paperwork, so I could focus on recovering. Thanks to Geoff hard work and dedication, I was able to get the compensation I deserved. I highly recommend Geoffrey Smith to anyone who needs a skilled and caring attorney.

From my first conversation with Geoff, I knew my decision to move forward with him and his firm was the right decision. He made my case feel like a true concern rather than a just a “new client”. I was injured, mad, and didn’t know where to start or who to trust. I got off the phone and told my wife that I found an attorney who truly wants to provide the best service necessary for my case. He managed the expectations and provided constant support without belittling the situation at hand. His responsiveness and follow up was second to none. I would recommend Geoff to anyone needing legal help.

I would like to share my experience working with my lawyer, Geoffrey Smith, who represented me in my automobile accident case. The settlement for my case was reached within two years, and throughout that entire time, Geoffrey was consistently available to discuss any concerns I had, often responding the same day or by the next day at the latest. His communication was always clear and open, which I greatly appreciated. Additionally, his office staff was exceptionally efficient in handling all the necessary paperwork. I want to give a special shout-out to Joanna, his office assistant, who was instrumental in ensuring everything was processed smoothly and kept me informed every step of the way. Overall, I had a very positive experience, and I highly recommend Geoffrey Smith for anyone in need of legal representation.

During a situation in which I felt completely scammed and hopeless, a lawyer referred to me by a friend, Evan Garber, provided great help. He successfully defended me and brought my case to light. I want to express my deep appreciation and thanks to him and the entire staff at Garber Law Firm.

We are very grateful for Garber Law Associates to take our case. Our homeowners insurance (No Jingles, No Mascots) denied a claim we submitted for damages done on our home due to a severe hailstorm in May 2022. Evan Garber, esq., walked us through the process step by step. He was very accommodating to our every need, kept us up-to-date and was always willing to put forth 100% of his expertise in solving our case. In the end victory was on our side.

I don't think I've ever felt more comfortable with a law firm. They always made sure I understood everything clearly and completely. Their communication is excellent and everyone in the office is really nice. I honestly feel that they had my best interest in mind at all times. I am extremely happy with the results they got me. I would definitely recommend them without hesitation.

Michael Glassman handled complex legal issues regarding my husband. My husband was in a car accident that left him a quadriplegic. Michael would come to our home to talk with my husband and guide him through this difficult process all foreign to us. When my husband shockingly died before the case was completed , Michael never left me in the dark. Michael was available to me whenever I called and explained in detail what to anticipate. I was at a loss when my husband died. Michael was so empathetic he would listen to me talk about my husband and join in . I will be forever grateful to Michael for helping me through this difficult time and getting justice for my husband.

Sarah handled my divorce with exceptional compassion and understanding in addition to her excellent legal skills. She made sure that my prenuptial agreement was enforced and that my eventual settlement was something that I could live with. Sarah gave me the utmost confidence when she reviewed the law with me, and then backed it up with her performance. She always kept me well-informed without drowning me in paperwork and honoring my desire to keep my costs reasonable. Always available via phone and email, Sarah was sympathetic regarding the issues with my ex that were giving me angst, reassuring me that she would do everything that she could within the law to overcome those issues. Without fail, she followed through on her promises to look out for my best interests. I can't thank her enough for all of her good work as well as her compassion, and the support of her amazing office staff.

Not only is Sarah trustworthy but she also understands her clients and shows true concern. Her whole office is outstanding. They go above and beyond their job. It could be 10pm at night and yet Sarah will respond to her e-mails even at that hour. She's very responsive, very attentive and she truly loves her job. I can't recommend her ENOUGH!!!! Thank you to every one in her law firm and of course to Sarah!!! You guys are fantastic!!!!!!

Jill assisted us during a very challenging time in our lives. We were undecided on whether to go through the Foster-to Adopt process. Family Court can be very confusing and we were terrified to move forward. Jill helped us navigate the system so there are no surprises. It felt amazing to have a clear plan on what to do. Jill's intake process was seamless and it was easy to schedule meetings with her especially with our busy work schedules. I highly recommend and will work with her law firm law again. Thanks, Jill!

My husband and i were involved in a major car accident in May 2015 that changed our lives in many ways personally with him fracturing his femur, etc. The fact that he has autism along with severe anxiety prior to the accident tends to be an understatement. However, how this accident effected him emotionally after it he is still trying to recover from- due to his restricted exercise , effected job performance and worsened anxiety from the accident I'm not sure if he will ever be the same again. Mr. Wenker and his assistant Kim took almost all of his calls and never lost their patience with him and exuded professionalism with us. They listened to all of his frustrations with decreased income, pain levels, and frustration which we very much appreciated. Because my husband was not the best communicator to stay on topic and explain how the accident effected him long term emotionally and physically Mr. Wenker even went as far as thinking outside the box and we gathered witnesses who knew his level of functioning before and after the accident. I believe the video was a major contributor as to why we got such a impressive settlement in the end. We have used him for two cases and would definitely refer him to anyone else who would like a calm . friendly, patient , and professional attorney to represent them on his or her case.

I was involved in an auto accident in 2009. This would have been just an ordinary case if it wasn't for the fact that I had prior injuries that were on the mend when i was rear ended in a very scary accident. I contact several lawyers who were not to concerned about me or taking this case. I happened to walk into Mr. Wallace office by happen stance. He changed my life , not only did he listen to me but he told me not to worry he would fight to the end and whatever I choose to do from here on out he would let me make decisions side by side with him concerning my case. I can't tell you how that made me feel, not only did he say but he meant it. His associate , Pina ,was the absolute the best she guided me through a tough deposition and made me very comfortable though it all. I can't leave out his secretaries because know matter how many times I called they were always courteous and my phone calls were returned promptly .If I or my family and friends have a need for legal representation I have Bruce on speed dial.

I cannot recommend this practice enough. All staff members are professional & compassionate. I felt that I was being clearly & compassionately guided throughout the entire legal process. I am a very nervous individual but Shira was so accessible and supportive that I knew what to expect throughout each step of the process and what the ongoing plan & contingency plans were throughout the process. Not only is the practice compassionate they are highly competent and very effective at what they do! Each time I received paperwork it was articulate, direct, yet eloquent, you can tell by their work that they really individualize their cases. I highly, highly recommend this practice. I was referred to Archer and Greiner from a real estate attorney in Pennsylvania, I made the initial call, had a pleasant conversation, was asked to forward some documentation, which I did immediately. I was awaiting a call back and did not get one, so a few weeks having gone by, I called the office, was told the attorney that I was working with was busy, I never got a call back. I waited a few more weeks and called again, once again the receptionist told me that the attorney was not available. I informed the receptionist that this will be the second time I am doing this dance and that I am more than willing to pay for any services. I also informed her that I am a successfully retired business owner and had also served as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force, worthy of the attorney's phone call. I have not received a phone call back. I also registered this same complaint directly with Archer and Greiner via a contact form on their website, I have not heard anything from that communication either. I can only guess as to why. It would have to be one of 3 reasons, 1) The lawfirm is so disorganized that they cannot keep track of contacts and calls, 2) The attorney does not want the business 3) The firm is so busy that they are not taking on new clients. I would imagine and expect that a professional organization such as Archer and Greiner look to be, would in case 2 or 3 have the common decency to just tell me that, however, since they haven't I must conclude that the answer is either 1 or that they do not conduct themselves in a professional manner.

We need arbitration reform and arbitrator regulations. There are no valid checks and balances with truly getting a fair, impartial and unbiased process. Arbitrators have more power than a judge. Little to no appeal options with binding arbitration. With no valid checks and balances the arbitration process can portray as a scam. I had asked one arbitrator (a retired judge at this firm) to clarify a potential conflict and concerns of bias. Instead, the arbitrator dismissed the case without a hearing. I would not recommend the American Arbitration Association as the process is not fair, unbiased and impartial as they advertise. I had reached out to vice presidents to get involved with the process and they never even responded. The unfairness is so blatant, the area I was assigned, the AAA administrators do not even provide their own names. It's an ethics and moral issue if you can't put your name on your work.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.

  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
