I became aware of Mr Rahm while being involved in a discrimination suit a coworker had filed. Mr Rahm was very thorough, personally interested and helpful. When I felt I was being discriminated against in my job, with a different company, Mr Rahm was the only light at the end of a dark tunnel I was spiraling into. I would have felt even more hopeless without knowing he was available. Mr Rahm was very honest in his assessment of my situation, the possible outcomes, and the direction(s) we could attempt. The final outcome was well within the parameters he laid out at the very beginning. I am completely satisfied with the outcome. I feel that Mr Rahm did not recoup all of the costs associated with this suit but that also was an up-front possibility he pointed out. Mr Rahm is an honorable man and his office has behave in an ethical manner.

You want your Lawyer to care as much about your case as you do. Kirk Rahm is the rare lawyer that does exactly that. Kirk will give you a forthright assessment of your case in your first meeting. If you agree to pursue litigation I can tell you there will be no half measures taken on your behalf. Communications with you and your opposition will be extensive and documented. Legal research will be thorough. Witnesses will be treated with respect and every effort will be made to obtain a good outcome on your behalf. Should your case proceed to trial, you are in good hands. Kirk's trial experience will be invaluable to you from the beginning of your case to the end. Kirk helped me with a complicated wrongful termination case that involved thousands of documents, numerous briefs, and trial preparation that included 24 depositions, including some uncooperative witnesses in which we obtained a very good outcome. Trustworthy, competent, dogged, respected and effective are just a few ways I would describe Kirk.

Definitely got us 4 times what we would've gotten on our own. More importantly, he took care of everything so we didn't have to spend our time researching everything.

Mr. Hanna was very professional. I had a million questions and a dozen phone calls and he walked me through every step of the process with such patience. I appreciated how none of my questions seemed dumb to him.

David is my hero because he’s saved me more than once. He’s a down to earth kind of guy and a great attorney. I have recommended him in the past and will continue to do so. I’ve used his services more than I care to mention and he has always been fair and straight forward with me.

David Lloyd is great attorney with very reasonable rates and an honest, upfront caring man. As he has done other work for me and my family with very happy endings... When I was desperate for help with only 3 days notice, he immediately came to my aid and helped SO MUCH! He was able to tell me that very day that my case has been continued far enough away that I would have time to find a place to live! I would very much recommend this attorney to anyone!

I hired Mr. Lloyd to represent me in a Class A Misdemeanor DWI case along with a petition against the Department of Revenue (I refused the breathalyzer). In the criminal DWI case, there were several accompanying charges. The petition against the state would be quite challenging to overcome as well. Although the odds were against me, Mr. Lloyd readily took on my pair of cases. At the onset, I faced potential jail time along with losing my license for at least a year. Formal procedures commenced over the next several months. Mr. Lloyd was excellent about keeping me informed of my court dates and progress of the cases. It was apparent to me that he cared about my cases, which helped ease my mind at a time where that was not easy to do. By the conclusion of all this, Mr. Lloyd had continuously fought for the outcome of my immediate future. I believe his persistence and zeal shaped the positive result of both my cases. I served no jail time nor did I lose my license. As the end result of my cases could not have been better, I would recommend Mr. Lloyd to anyone I know. Thank you David, your representation undoubtedly changed my life for the better.

Mr. Edmiston has handled many types of legal matters for me over the years. He has always treated me with respect and I completely trust his abilities and his practices. It is not very often these things can be said about any attorney, but Mr. Edmiston has always delivered and exceeded my expectations. I trust him with everything I have. He is one of the most honest people I have ever encountered and I can always trust that he will do the best job representing me for whatever else comes my way.

My son sold something that is legal in Colorado, to another student at UCM, who was with the highway patrol. Stupid is not a strong enough word. I called 4 or 5 lawyers, trying to judge who should take my money and handle his case. Troy was empathetic from the first conversation. He also was very honest about the outcome. He got a good deal from the prosecutor, but then, a turn of events led him to take a chance and plead before the judge, who gave my son an SIS with loads of probation. Troy was also at least 50% less money than the other guys. I can't thank him enough. I feel he was a life saver for my son.

As far as I'm concerned, Ms Amanda Lotspeich can't be beat. She is a great listener, and her prowess as an attorney in trial can't be beat. Honestly, she offered advice I didn't want to hear but did as she suggested and I'm glad I did. The staff was always kind and friendly. Again...thank you.

Absolute worst lawyer EVER!!! NOT ONLY DID SHE DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING SHE GUIDED US INTO A HUGE DEBT. Told us to stay at the house until we got evicted. Which cost us 2 more months of rent. Sent me to court an made me look like an idiot in front of the judge. Then completely BAILED ON US an closed out or case. This lawyer should have her license stripped an we will be calling more lawyers. I will be pushing to sue you also for improperly representing us. You are the biggest joke of a lawyer I have ever seen. We followed your advice step by step an your now telling us you can't help us. You are a joke that nobody laughs at.

They provide no help when you qualify for services. They also make up excuses to not provide services. They have terrible customer service. You're on your own out here. These guys are a joke. Think of these guys as the State Farm Insurance commercial with that old fisherman that has a dollar on his fishing hook giving you the illusion of getting that dollar. That's these guys right here.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
