I've used Michael Young a number of times and he has ALWAYS followed through with what he said he was going to do. he was honest from the start and gave no false hope. luckily he has always gotten my cases dropped like he said he was going to do, gave me my chances for success told me to relax and leave it in his hands, just recently he got 2 driving on a suspended and failure to appear on both dropped at district 3 which is the toughest court house. on another case of leaving the scene of an accident with multiple tickets stacked on top of that he dropped. I've used a few lawyers in the past and NONE of them hold a candle to Michael Young. I stand by him 100%

Very personable and caring through out the whole process. He has the ability to place pieces together that will help you achieve best scenario after review. I was very fearful with the outcome of my case and doubtful that any one could help me reach the results he has. My case had me drained from worries, after talking to Mr. Young those worries were lifted and he pulled it off! My case had a very positive outcome. Very greatful.

I was introduced to Bruce Rose almost a dozen years ago. During the last decade he has handled all of my legal affairs. Bruce is a Rolodex of legal knowledge, he is always around to give you good advice, and solve problems, when you need him. He is genuinely a good person who has impeccable ethics and is reachable in a timely manner. Bruce sets the bar high, other lawyers can only try and live up his standards of law. I highly recommend him for your legal needs.

When I first called this lawyer he was unavailable. He called me back and answered a lot of questions. That's when I decided to hire him. He never missed a court date and he told me what was going to happen. Mr. Allen explained his approach was to prepare every case like it is going to be a trial. It took a while but after he got the evidence thrown out the prosecutors dropped the case.

When arrested without Probable Cause I went to Attorney Allen for help. He listen to what happened. Then he asked me questions that helped me remember more details. He didn't asked if I did it or not, he said it was important that the law was followed. He explained the law and I understood why my Rights had been violated. He filed a motion and the arrest, the search for any evidence found was illegally done. Illegal evidence cannot be used against me.

Lucy Vasquez was hired to represent me in my child support case on November 9, 2022. She has terrible communication with her clients. Ms. Vasquez consistently fails to return my calls or texts in a timely manner, and when she does respond, she often promises to call back but fails to do so. Additionally, she missed two of my court dates and took no accountability. Once a judgement was made due to her failure to appear she claimed she filed a motion to vacate the judgment. I spoke directly to the court clerk and they advised that she in fact did not file any motions as she stated she did. After months of back and forth and no resolutions I questioned her why things were going the way they were and she decided to withdraw from my case last month. (July 2024)Leaving me with out legal representation after making all required payments.

Simply put, Randy Hribal knows his stuff and gets it done. He’s has been my real estate attorney 4 times now — twice as a home buyer, once to refi, and once to sell FSBO. Each time he’s been responsive, informative, friendly, and 100% on-the-ball. What’s more, his rates are surprisingly low. I say look no further than my attorney Randy.

This person was extremely unprofessional and rude. He was our immigration lawyer for a couple of months until we found our new and excellent lawyer. He worked on my mothers case, however due to his character and his lack of accessibility he forced us to turn elsewhere. From the beginning he mentioned he would not submit any paperwork until the full payment was done! Something our new lawyer never did or asked for. So of course to move things faster we paid over $3,000!! So he could start “working”. The only thing he really did was make us fill out papers. Trying to get a sponsor, we had several family members reach out to him but of course he was too busy. We wasted precious time on him since then. We tried calling him and he would get annoyed or simply didn’t think we were being polite for his likes. But I think any person would get frustrated after paying this person +$3,500 already and leaving you on voicemail. Hardly ever replied to his emails….. so there wasn’t really a way of communication. I think for a women, who’s only wish was to see her dying mother would become desperate like any normal human being. I think this reaction would be explained since time was of the essence and it’s important to answer calls ? At the end he mentioned, “he’d consider taking us back “ Of course when we emailed him back saying we found better law advise elsewhere because we couldn’t work with someone who didn’t prioritize their clients and got annoyed from the phone calls. We begged and pleaded for a full refund or something reasonable he immediately said yes and only refunded us $700 out of the +$3,500….. for his “time” the only thing he truly did was fill out paperwork and not answer phone calls. I truly believe this man was not worth those $2,800 he kept for just filling out paperwork and not answering phone calls. It’s also very weird and suspicious new comments started appearing after my mother’s initial comment when he didn’t have any before ????? Don’t beg for positive feedback. Let it be natural. It looks very bad that new positive and 5 star reviews appear after her initial comment when he never had any to begin with.

Please read and share! This lawyer was horrible. He represented me in an Order of Protection and child support case. He never showed up on my first case and I he didn't return my call for two weeks. Trying to get ahold of him is ridiculous. He was in such a hurry on my last court case that I entered an agreement that I misread and I am now fighting for custody of my child. He left and let the other lawyer do the rest of the work and I got screwed royally. I have been trying to reach him to fix this mess and he refuses to even talk to me. His secretary Linda tells me he will call me back and never does.

Then went to court and requested continuence because he lost my paperwork and still billed me, stay clear of this guy, bad news, will rob you blind while he plays golf all day and never returns your calls.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.
  2. Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and involved parties.
  3. List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  4. Financial Information:
If applicable, bring financial documents like pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
  5. Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case.
  6. Personal Identification:
Bring a valid ID for verification purposes.
  7. Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points.
  8. Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
